There was a pundit who recently said that the Rams LOVE Polite and that he was dealing with some issues last season, including not sleeping. My therapist background makes me think adjustment disorder, major depressive disorder, or maybe bipolar disorder (not actually diagnosing him! Just naming possibilities). If he were dealing with a new mental disorders brought on by stress it would make sense of how weird he was last season.I didn't include Polite in my evaluation because this guy has too many red flags on him. I'm surprised he's still on the team. What guy shows up at the combine overweight and completely out of shape? That told me all I need to know about his lack of commitment and add to that his foolishness at interviews and until he proves he's grown up I discount him. He dropped his weight back down but can he keep it down? My experience with guys like him says no.
This is a very good practice for an NFL team IMO. Utilize the draft for defensive OLB/ ILB/ DB's prospects & save all the teams "overpriced & graybeards" for most of the OL & interior DL positions.I see a pattern here. no graybeards or overpriced FAs.
Eats up ground when he comes free on the pass rush. He can contribute right away in pass-rush situations. He could be a monster if he stays healthy. Time will tell.
Didnt we just release a great player that we drafted after an acl injury bc his knee started going out?

That's the way I see it in today's NFL. Sorry to say Snead/McVay are been trending the opposite in the OL. In truth this entire team is very young though. Rams have only 2 players that have over a decade of NFL service. McQuade & Withworth.
If we take the top 10 OL'ers ..... Snead has one very old bald serious graybeard throw him out & the rest of the 9 OL'ers average out @ 3 seasons worth of experience in the NFL. Not what you should be going into the season with in your OL unit. But by this time next season that experience factor will increase to an average of close to over 4 yr average.
Hopefully the Ram Org will have learned from the Gurley/Cooks contracts. Cooks is listed as causing the Rams close to $22 million in dead cap this year. The Rams top 5 paid positions this season are QB-DT-CB-TE-WR, no OL'ers.
I was not discussing Ol depth. My point was on the subject of utilization of salary cap funds & my preference was to favor the investment of those funds in the OL & not as much in other units IF possible. Then I gave examples of the top five salary cap investments none being OL'ers.Blah Blah Blah on the O””Line . The Rams are more experienced & have more depth than they have had in a long time. —Go back & tell me when they had more depth ?? Will talk after the season if there is one.
I think these young guys will get coached up. —Remember you talking all high about Brewer & him being a LT.
as far as this group. I’m excited & upbeat. We don’t get the look of how these guys improve. The Rams by getting younger will be better in the future.
Apologizing for not reading the majority of this thread but do you think they picked our safeties based on their run-stopping ability?
I will go deep into this Soul Surfer when I have the time. But my first thought here are the Rams selected & signed a ton of safeties with Nickle, CB, deep safety type talents all who do tackle well.Apologizing for not reading the majority of this thread but do you think they picked our safeties based on their run-stopping ability?
Any opinions would be appreciated. : )

I have voiced my positive thoughts on our 2020 OL depth now for a very long time. I also believe Rams youthful starters Edwards/Corbett/ Evans/Brewer will be very good building materials, so we are in the same camp on many OL elements here.
Fact is Rams did start 2 OL'er's last season who had zero starts. By the half season mark Rams started 2 additional OL'ers who had zero starts & another with only 1 start. These five inexperience starters were a very large issue for the 2019 offense. IMO the 2019 outcome would have been much more positive if the OL elements involved in the 2019 mixture would have had a more seasoned flavor to than youth.
In case anyone wasn't sufficiently jazzed about Lewis' potential upside, check this out from former DE Stephen White: https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2020/3...istory-highlights-edge-rusher-von-miller-rams
holy cow
Seems like they have a diagnosis for everything nowadays. Won't be long and being an "Asshole" will come with a drug treatment plan where in the past a good fucking ass kicking would take care of it.There was a pundit who recently said that the Rams LOVE Polite and that he was dealing with some issues last season, including not sleeping. Btw I am of course pulling for Polite. Dude can rush the passer. But gotta say until he can show he's grown up he's not a name I consider to be any sort of answer.
That take surprises me a bit. For the type of skills he has I would think making a Staley roster would be far easier than making it under Phillips where there is more demand on running with guys vs dropping.I don't think Reeder makes this squad.
