Apparently he was trying to call Terrell Lewis but couldn't get his phone number on time.

I doubt there was some squabble like the internet is trying to make it out to be.
Gotcha. And I didn’t know it was a “thing”.

When you have multiple picks you can roll the dice on a injury prone potential First round talent like this in the back of RD 3.

I like it. Cowboy Les taking a swing for the fence, its fine.

I mean there’s absolutely no way of knowing that. Could be a million reasons.
Agreed. If they REALLY wanted Cushenberry, they would've taken him in the Second round or traded up for him earlier in the 3rd. Because of that, it tells me they are willing to wait and maybe go with the Center from Washington in the 4th or later.

Well first off welcome to the Rams TL!

And maybe we'll see this guy stay healthy as a rookie. If that happens we could see some fireworks man. Edge is a quick impact position when a guy can play and he can.

Big upside if he can be coached well for injuries. I heard something about an elbow. Anything else?

Someone in the equipment room needs to order a brand new ice tub for Terrell Lewis. Dude barley played the last two years. Can't make the club if your in the tub. I hate this pick. Such a hurt bag

The problem is that the EDGE class sucks outside of the first 40 picks. Chase Young and Chaisson are legit prospects. Gross-Matos has upside (but he's also not an easy projection). After that, it falls off dramatically. Uche is super talented, but he's a tweener. Darrell Taylor is super talented, but he never consistently put it together in college and has some character red flags. Lewis is super talented, but he has a bunch of injuries and is somewhat raw. Zuniga is super talented, but he also has injuries and is raw.

Greenard is more developed and has great intangibles, but he has only average traits. Same with Bradlee Anae and Anfernee Jennings. Okwara, Garvin, and Alton Robinson have traits, but they're not good football players at this stage (and have some scary flaws in their games/characters).

In a lot of EDGE classes, you can get some very fine prospects in Rounds 2 and 3. In this class, there wasn't much there. We swung for the fences with Lewis. We might end up striking out, but I think it was a reasonable bet with the class we have.

IF Terrell Lewis pans out, this draft will be a big success.

Van Jefferson and Terrell Burgess are in perfect position to play and add value to our roster right away. Like Kupp and JJ3, these 2 are ready-made for our team.

Cam Akers is my favorite RB in this draft. I don't give a shit about "upside". It's synonymous with "question marks". When a player excels at the nuances of his position, showing the professionalism and intelligence to study his craft, half of your job as a talent evaluator is done, half of your job as a coach is done, half of your question marks as a player are answered.
Rookie contracts are short. Taking chances on a player to develop the necessary skills to be reliable in the NFL is risky enough and it requires time. Time is precious. If you have to wait 2 or 3 seasons just to find out if they can do it, they usually can't.

Lewis reminds me of Robert Quinn. Tons of questions about his health, but in his limited moments in college football he proved to have to the size, athleticism and freakish physical attributes necessary to win at the snap and wreak havoc. Massive potential.
The injuries are concerning but not a deal breaker and he has an opportunity to be a great compliment to AD.
If Lewis doesn't pan out, it's not a huge loss. 1st round talent is worth a 3rd round flyer when you aren't taking a bunch of risks with your other picks.

His injuries don’t worry me too much. These were kind of freak things. Hard for a player to control. It’s not like he is soft with muscle type injuries.

in my opinion his injury concerns are nothing like Tua’s and he went 5 overall. Good value here imo.

I love when I look up a player's size and have to do a double take. I couldn't believe he's 265 pounds. He moves and changes direction like a 230 pound guy. This is the most intriguing pick so far. He might be the perfect compliment to AD and Ebukam for the pass rush package.

He really gets around quickly and efficiently--so agile for his size. In his reels he seemed do be able to run down mobile QBs sooner than they expected.

I’ve been caught in the “they’re just freak injuries” camp for too many players over the years. I’ve come to realize if a guy keeps getting injured, he’s injury prone until he’s not. And it’s a hard label to shed. Hoping he can, though, the talent is there.

Didnt we just release a great player that we drafted after an acl injury bc his knee started going out?
Yes but that was after the Ram provided him a second vastly oversized & highly questionable contract for a team that was going to be bleeding voluminous amounts of salary cap funds well into the near future.
if this cat can stay healthy he's the best pick in this draft, amazingly good player
train
Snead & his team has surely done their jobs on this selection. We all knew this draft was a very poor (n)draft of 34 D ER's. All draft picks are gambles. Rams computed utilizing a 3rd rd pick was the best move for this team. Injuries can be overcome & do on a regular basis Saffold early career was a mess with the Rams, but he overcame them.

ER's usually can have an impact very early in the NFL the Rams need this ER to do just that. His injuries came in 2017 & 2018 now it several years away from those two season ending events. I bet Lewis is ready to exploded on the NFL scene after having his college career smothered & put out by injuries.

I draft for future NFL production not college production. Lewis is going to make many GMs wish they hadn’t made the mistake of passing on him. Fans will say how wasn’t that guy our #1 pick. IMO, we got two #1s - Ramsey and Lewis.

I am amazed that a poster(s) would use Gurley as a reason why we shouldn’t pick a player who had knee surgery. For a start, not all ACLs are the same injury! Second, Gurley was one of the best players in the league while a Ram! The contract was a mistake, not the pick...

Time will tell, but plenty of draft picks who have never been injured will go down in the first season. Unless someone has a crystal ball, we should wait until we are given more facts about the injury and then training camp before we write off a player picked 84th!
