That take surprises me a bit. For the type of skills he has I would think making a Staley roster would be far easier than making it under Phillips where there is more demand on running with guys vs dropping.

I'm not high on Reeder or anything btw. But he does have some nice fit to him for this year I think.

He does, but the others I mentioned are far more talented. Patrick (who can also play outside linebacker), Kiser, Howard, and Young, I feel, will all make this team. Given that our outside linebackers are Floyd (who can move inside), Ebukam, Okoronkwo, and Lewis, there's only two spots open, if we're putting ten linebackers on the team. I think Polite makes the roster, if his mind's right (which I think could definitely be, if he finds the right medication). Then there's Rozeboom, whom I like a lot.

I honestly don't think Reeder makes the team. He has the starts, but so did John Franklin-Myers. Granted, Young or Kiser could lose their jobs, but I don't see that happening.

I would not be surprised if Polite made the roster this year. You're right that he'll have to want it, that much is true.
Holland will likely be on the practice squad, but I like him as well.
Anyway, I see us keeping ten linebackers on this team. Here's my group:

OLB - Leonard Floyd, Samson Ebukam, Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, Terrell Lewis, Jachai Polite.
ILB - Travin Howard, Micah Kiser, Natrez Patrick, Kenny Young, Christian Rozeboom.

That's starting to look like a pretty nice list, especially with Floyd being able to switch between ILB/OLB.

Seems like they have a diagnosis for everything nowadays. Won't be long and being an "Asshole" will come with a drug treatment plan where in the past a good fucking ass kicking would take care of it.

Btw I am of course pulling for Polite. Dude can rush the passer. But gotta say until he can show he's grown up he's not a name I consider to be any sort of answer.
Well they kinda do have a diagnosis for everything lol but it depends on severity, frequency and root cause. It's a very strict process to diagnose someone.

Apologizing for not reading the majority of this thread but do you think they picked our safeties based on their run-stopping ability?

Any opinions would be appreciated. : )
Burgess is a do it all safety who excels in coverage but is a willing tackler. He plays single high safety and some nickel corner.

Kupp tore his ACL too. Guess we better not even think about keeping him in the long run.
Touche. Although with this Jefferson pick up...that blue font might not need to be blue if he produces well. I hope I'm wrong bc I want Kupp here until he retires.

Yeah I'm really hoping Jefferson is a future Woods replacement. I think it makes more sense seeing that Woods is older and Jefferson will hit his prime right at around the same time that Woods probably becomes too old to pay.

Not sure if already found and posted, but are either of his injuries on film? I assume the ACL isn't. IIRC it happened in practice(?)
Howbout the elbow?

This dude is a freak. If healthy he's going to do some serious wrecking.

Would appear Chris Shula the Rams outside LB'ers coach role in this selection. Chris sure has his grandpa's nose. Former teammate of HC McVay.
He got nicked up in 2019 too. And he was clearly playing to protect himself at times in 2019.
IMO this pick is putting a lot of faith in Shula's coaching ability. Because as jrry pointed out his film does have a lot of examples of him either holding back or not going full tilt. And I'll admit that concerns me even though I'm good with where they picked him.

And btw I am a big fan of Shula. His involvement with the OLBs produced some noticeable improvements. Lewis missed so much time that he's sort of raw too, he doesn't have great technique on the outside rush and he also doesn't have that bendy balance or the big time power the best ones have. I think if Shula can get 100% effort and refine his technique quickly, though, that he can be an impact guy for us.

Many ROD'ers were concerned. At this moment in time here's what the Rams have signed:

ER- Ebukam 25-4/ Lewis 21-R/ Polite 21-1/ Holland 23-2/ Lawler 23/2
WLB- Howard 24-3/ Young 25-3/ Roseboom 21-R
MLB- Kiser 24-3/ Reeder 25-2 / Johnston 21-R
ER- Floyd 26-5/ Okoronkwo 25-/ & Reaves 21-R/ Natrez Patrick 22/2
Edge group looks solid as does the depth. Maybe could be a plus group if one or two guys show more development.

Next year will hopefully bring some more ILB quality in. This year we're going to see a ton of sub groups and that will continue until they find some guys who can stay on the fuckin field.

I'm on the fence with that one. Sometimes I wonder if Goff would improve his overall game, if he weren't locking in on Kupp so much and learning to spread the ball around a bit more.

Plus, if proves not to be able to consistently win outside of the slot going against #1 and #2 CBs, I fear the team may go back to overdoing it on 11 personnel instead of shaking things up with more 12 personnel.

Is he healthy now or is he still rehabbing? what was his last injury?

I can’t tell you how healthy he is or how his rehabbing is going but from what I have read is that he did play in all Alabama’s Games this past season except for their Bowl Game and my understanding is that he missed that game due to the fact he wanted to get ready for the Combine and the NFL Draft and had nothing to do with previous injuries (Just from the information that I read!). I am very excited about adding Terrelle Lewis to the Rams Defense this upcoming season!!!
