I was a young lad just starting to get to an age where sports became interesting. My father was a Packers fan. I don't remember the exact year. I was probably 9 or 10 years old. My best friend was over and we were watching the game with my father.

We decided to mess with my dad and root for the other team. It was the Rams. It was a close back and forth game. When it looked like the Packers might win the Rams blocked a punt. Got close to the endzone. Roman Gabriel threw a TD to Bernie Casey for the win. The Packers got the last laugh beating the Rams later in the playoffs. But my best friend and I were hooked on those horns ever since.

We grew up in the Fresno area. A 49er market. All 49er games were shown on the local station. So I would adjust that 30 foot antenna to the south and pick up a Bakersfield station that aired all the Rams games. The picture was a little snowy. The TV was a black and white. But the audio was fine and we could see it well enough to know what was happening. It was fun being a Rams fan back then. Still is now.
I had turned 9 in late October 1967. On the Saturday they played Green Bay at the Coliseum, I came in the house at the end of the game. Had heard of the World Champion Packers but was a novice to things NFL. So, there are mere seconds left and GB is on the verge of winning. Of course. Then an all out rush on Donny Anderson and GABE hit the late great Bernie Casey to send the throng into a loud ecstatic roar. Minutes before, I'd never heard of the LA RAMS and all the sudden I was hooked.

Central Jersey guy. Choices were the Eagles or Giants, Jets in the AFL. I was lucky enough to have the early version of NFL ticket.....got both the NYC and Philly channels...so usually got 4 games every Sunday in the late 60's.

The late NFL game was often the Rams. The horns. The Coliseum. A Roman playing QB. The Fearsome Foursome defense. Pops liked the Eagles so he rarely had a good Sunday. Older brothers were AFL fans.

Been a Ram fan since then. So long.in fact, I could see a blue and gold pile of crap and smile.

Now they have a new Coliseum, a gunslinger at QB and the most feared defender in years. Full circle. I rarely have a bad Sunday.

First year I remember cheering for them was '97. I was 8 years old at the time and that was my dads team. I was trying to bond with him over something.

Grew up in Hawai'i and we didn't have many team choices in the '60s. I wanted to be just like Jack Snow. Only three channels on tv but you can always catch games on the radio where you would hear, "..Gabriel throws a bomb to Snow...touchdown!!!". Been a Ram fan ever since.

I was 10 or 11 when the Rams moved to St.Louis. I didn't know a thing about football. I played mostly soccer in school at recess.

My uncle got was excited and purchased PSLs and Season tickets. I didn't have a dad growing up, so, my uncle was my male role model. I was at his house a lot and it was a lot of Rams talk.

I got a Rams winter coat and caught so much shit from people at school because they were such a bad team. I wasn't in love with the team, but, with the little I knew, they were the team I supported.

My first game was against the Ravens, week one of the 99 season. After that game, I was hooked! Turned out to be a good time to get in the game!

I remember, when I became a Ram's fan like it was yesterday. We lived in North Carolina, I was 9 years old and my Dad had taken me for a haircut. It was a Sunday afternoon and the barber shop had a small black and white TV, with a game on. I started liking them because of their old blue and white uniforms with the horns on the helmets. What I remember the most was Roman Gabriel throwing the ball to Jack Snow.

It was born in me being raised up in Van Nuys CA.

Living in LA, then SF bay area then Lompoc until August 1968 getting to watch all those Ram games on Sunday was an epic event for a young kid & early teenager who love playing & watching football.

Never been any other sport other than the NFL pro football brand.

LA Rams was my first cherry on the top of the NFL

Plus my wife hates the Rams.....

I was born in San Pedro Ca and my dad was a Rams Lakers Dodgers USC Football fan

I happened to just go with what he was watching

I think I started around 1970 or so and became a big fan in 1973

What is kinda strange is that I am a UCLA Basketball fan - mom went to college there dad went to USC

And I grew up watching Wooden's Bruins and McKay's Trojans.

When I first moved to the States I played a little ice hockey mostly because I loved to play physical as a forward (Usually took the other by surprise that I would be more of a two way player instead of only focused on offence at that age). The daughter of the defensive coordinator for our high school football team was dating one of my teammates so he came to a few games with her. Late in the season as we were gearing up for a little playoff run I had a real physical game, put on a bit of a hitting clinic to help us grind out a tough win.

He asked me to check out their spring ball practices to see about slotting me in as a LB. Unfortunately, being a lad from Lucan, I had no clue how to play American football, so when I tried to be a LB I couldn't diagnose any play at all, way too slow in the mental aspect of the game, but the physical traits were there, I was fast, had good reactions, and could hit. They decided to try me out as a safety where I would have a little more time to see what was going on/correct things, as well as receiver.

I picked up an old copy of Madden and picked a team at random (literally just hit the random team button in a play now mode and then after playing I started a franchise mode with them) to help me get a better understanding of various football concepts, real basic things to help me get up to speed more. The team I randomly selected was the St Louis Rams, and after playing a few seasons of Madden I had grown to like the players since they were the ones I was using, and they just sort of turned into my team. It wasn't until later I found out that they had been in LA previously, so I thought that was a neat connection even if it ultimately didn't play any role in my selection of them.

I missed out on the GSOT years since I was in Ireland still, I was just starting to watch the team and really didn't have a ton of loyalty in the 2004 season when they went 8-8 and beat the Hawks in the playoffs. I do remember the first Rams game I watched was the Giants game that was Warners last the season before, but I had just recently moved to the States and was just watching because it was on TV, not because I cared for the sport.

My fandom between 2004 and 2008 sort of hovered around slight favourability, they were my team when I picked up Madden, but I still wasn't a die hard football fan. I watched the Pats 2007 SB loss in Iraq during a small skirmish, which I thought was funny.

2008 I watched the two Rams victories against Washington and Dallas with a bunch of Dallas fans in the Army, seriously I was the lone Rams fan, and I vividly remember Donnie Avery adjusting for the deep pass against Washington, I think to set up the game winning FG, and then Jackson running all over the Boys the next week. That basically drove my fandom home, we sucked but they were my team still, and I would be dammed if I didn't sit there getting slagged by all those Cowboy fans to abandon the team for nothing.

That's a long way of saying that the McVay era is the first era of winning Rams football that I've known, so I'm really loving these past few years.

I grew up in Hawaii. On Saturday mornings kids watched cartoons (the only time you could watch them). On Sunday mornings the Rams were on TV (because of the time difference). The LA Rams were basically the Home/Local team for The 808.

I liked watching the Rams more than the cartoons. Been a die-hard ever since.

When I first started dating my wife the subject of football came up. I asked her if she had a favorite team. She said "I guess I like the 49ers." I told her "Uh, that isn't gonna work for me". She quickly became a Rams fan. Been one ever since.

I was born in LA. My dad took me to Rams games when they had blue and white uniforms. We later moved to Hawaii and basically, the TV stations mostly showed Rams, Cowgirls and Vikings games.

So I just stuck with the Rams, even when they moved to St. Louis.
