Brudda... this is probably not the best day to ask that one. Everyone is probably making the most out of their Sunday when the Rams are not playing. So they're either being a little productive, or watch/sleeping through games today.

There are a number of threads on this topic because it usually comes up about once a year or so. It's good to bring it up though since we add new members all the time and it's interesting to know for sure. If you want to read some now... look back for some old threads on this while you're waiting for some responses. I bet you'll get some answers as the week rolls on.
Fair enough, you can close it. I actually did have a quick look and couldn't see anything. I thought a day when the Rams weren't playing was the perfect day. Clearly not!

In the mid 70’s my mother decorated my room in rams colors, she said they were pretty. We live in Nashville TN and had no hometeam. Now im a crazed Ram fan that needs padded walls during game time. The End.

My older brothers who are 13 and 15 years older than I am, we’re going to high school, which their teams were known as the Highland Rams, and then I heard there was a pro football team with the moniker Rams they became my first real professional team of any sport to become I team decided to follow. This was back in 62, but it wasn’t until 64 that I became a real fan, in the days of the four horseman, or fearsome foursome, and then added Roman Gabriel.

Growing up in Rhode Island in the 60's... suffice to say, we did not have the smorgasbord of TV stations as today... and in the late 60's one of the divisions was the "coastal division"... featuring Rams, 9'rs, Falcons and Colts... because of that odd assortment of teams, we seemed to get a our share of LA Rams games on the 5 TV stations that existed... And Roman Gabriel - always exciting as the proverbial pocket passer! I also came to hate teams named Green Bay, Minnesota and Dallas during this time!

I’ve told this before so sorry for the repetition. In the early 80’s my Dad, an electrical engineer who worked in the oil industry, got offered and accepted a job in LA. Although I never went to a game, I was very young, I had a helmet and a pennant was put on my bedroom wall (alongside other great sporting teams) as you can see below. I’ve supported the Rams ever since.View attachment 48849
Yeh, but er, West Ham!

TBF they've really turned the corner under Moyes. Apart from the time West Ham fans attacked us in Derby I've always had a soft spot for them. Always tried to play football no matter who was manager. Unlike Arsenal!

My brother became a Ram fan in 1976. I decided to follow the same team in 1977. People were all Washington, Cowboy, or Falcon fans in NC at that time. He decided to follow Washington a couple of years later becasue some of his closest friends were fans. I stayed a Ram fan ever since. I loved the colors and the horns.

Why? How does one explain love at first sight?

When? October 30, 1960(had to look it up.) A boy from school invited me over to watch a game. Having just recently moved from Germany and having no idea what the NFL was and barely understanding the English language I went anyway. This boy had a cousin, Gail Cogdill, who played for the Lions. The Rams won that game 48-35. Check out the link below. There are some interesting names that some of us old-timers might remember.

Moved from NoCal to SoCal in '76. Spent the summers north of Philly and most of my family were Eagles or Giants fans.

When we moved into our first house back then, my parents got me banners of all the teams and a bunch of sports stuff to decorate my room. There was a bunch of teams, but I fell in love with all teams LA.

Nolan Cromwell was my favorite player.

Became a full-fledged fan in 1999. As for why? They were my hometown team, and I fell head over heels once I started reading about their history in LA.

Grew up in Thousand Oaks (well, Newbury Park really but you can't hardly find that on a map) and the family in-town and the rest of the So Cal family were all Ram fans. And the neighborhood folks.

Watched the phantom motion call on Tom Mack and that was that...

Early 70's... Can't remember when I started, other than I remember being hyped and then disappointed abt the 74' Championship Game in Minnesota when I was 7 yrs old, but it's weird that I can't remember any particular game before that season. My dad was a Rams fan in the 50's and still followed them, but he was never a huge fan like I was.

Why I still root for them? Can't quit those horn's.

Grew up in Long Beach in my maternal grandmother’s home. She worked for a man that owned a hotel with a nice restaurant on the property. She was the night auditor and worked the front desk and switchboard. This gentleman was loosely associated with the Rams as the stayed there en masse during training camp. He used to close the restaurant to the public to feed them. He also was a season ticket holder. Also had Dodgers, Angels, Lakers and Kings tickets as well…..but rarely used any. Gave them to my gma anytime we wanted them.

working the switchboard from midnight to 8am, she was responsible for most of their wake up calls. she would call me and tell me so and so was I room 121 and left call for 7:30. 7:25 I had ridden my bike to the hotel and was waiting outside that room with ball and pen at the ready.

one time Deacon Jones took my ball and passed it around at breakfast and got darn near everybody, including a bunch of coaches to sign. My gma was a tough old bird and didn’t take any shit from any of her boys and they loved her to death. i remember as a kid she really enjoyed messin with Myron Pottios. And I remem him telling me ne day how special she was and to never disrespect her.

some in my family, originally from Louisiana, pull for the Saints. I can’t from all the years we were division rivals. I guess I pull for them if they are playing the Hens, Slimers or Cowgirl…….

this was all around 1966 or 67 when I was eight or nine.

My dad got two tickets from work in the early 60's (1963 IIRC). My brother is a Dodger fan so he wasn't interested. So it was me and my dad in the cheap seats at the Coliseum. I've been a fan ever since. I also began to follow the Chargers back then as well (before their move to SD).

When I moved to SD it was hard to follow the St Louis Rams but did so as much as possible though my main focus was on the Chargers until the Rams returned to their real home in LA.

I worked for a company that did a lot of the focus group studies in 1999 in regards to an expansion franchise that was stolen from LA by Houston. The top teams were Dallas, Raiders and yes even the St Louis Rams. It was clear back then that if the Rams ever returned to LA they would have a huge following. Yeah, and both Stan Kroenke and Eli Broad were on the distribution list even back then. Remember Stan purchased 30% of the Rams in 1995 which allowed the Rams to move to St Louis. So there is no doubt in my mind he intended to move the Rams back even then. Also unknown to most as part of his 30% buy in he had a right of first refusal on any additional percentage to be sold.

Once he got control there was never any doubt in my mind he would return to LA.

Growing up in L.A during the 60s the Rams were very popular, they had a bit of TV exposure and were very good on the field toward the end of the 60's. We had Gabriel and Snow on offense and the fearsome foursome on defense.
I remember the unveiling of the blue and yellow uniforms, it was a TV event. Our players were guest stars on the screen, it was natural to be an L.A kid and a Ram fan unless you rooted for the Cowboys who practiced in T.O.
Beyond all of this my Dad was a Ram fan and I was Indoctrinated, it has been a great ride and one that has spawned some of my most passionate memories.
I told my girlfriend ( now wife ) if the Rams when the Superbowl this year we will get married. That was 2000 and we now have a Ram fan son who will be 18 on Halloween.
