Clearly the Rams need to draft a Devante Adams clone. You know, a future HOF’er who can beat man to man and do it all with speed. Should be easy enough.

If he leaves, retires or falls of a cliff… Nacua will get beat to shit into IR and Stafford will be throwing to JAG’s.
Agreed.
That’s why I’m against trading everything to move up. We need to use one of these 1st on a top flight WR. It’s a must have.

We’re worried about taking a replacement for a guy that wasn’t on the team last year over our franchise QB that’s flirted with retirement for two offseasons?

IMO we need to plan for the future. We can find WRs in later rounds (Kupp, Nacua) a lot easier than QBs (Bennett).

I want our future QB learning behind Matthew, not Jimmy

I would say Priority 1 is exhaust all reasonable efforts to get 1st pick and Fernando Mendoza. I think he's gonna be THAT good.

Priority 2, via Atlanta's pick should be either a Franchise WR ala Tampa drafting Egbuka, or Chicago drafting Odunze recently, not to mention JSN in Seattle, OR a Franchise OT ala a Sewell or Wirfs.

Are you suggesting they do both?

The only thing that worries me is I thought I heard one of the talking heads say, "talking to him was like talking to Cousins"

He slightly resembles him too.

Kirko Chains is a 4x pro bowler who has had some very good to great seasons.

Only reason we don’t all wish we had a Kirk Cousins to come in after Matthew is because of his lack of success in Prime Time (and his play post injury). He has been praised for his leadership and is a very accurate passer.

If Fernando can lead, be accurate, and make the transition into winning in big time moments at the NFL level, then he is worth every penny. He’s already proven to be that in college. He also has more of that “dawg in him” than Kirk does IMO.

Fernando is closer to Goff than Kirk. Id love to have another Goff because I don’t see another Stafford in college football at the moment.

The cost to move up to #1 is going to be huge. I don’t think Mendoza is worth that.

I’d rather get one of these other QBs and use the other 1st on an elite WR talent.

Heck, If stafford says he wants to play 2 more years, I might even push the day 1 QB selection to next year.

It actually will be easy for them to draft a true outside the hash WR this year in the draft if they are so inclined. This WR group has some dudes at the top.

Strong had a highlight vid posted prior. This is the year for McVay to go find his big X wideout.

Or grab Makai Lemon, who isn't a big guy.

If McVay is our coach after Stafford, I think go veteran. That seams to work for McVays personality, and I don't think McVay crosses a line with a veteran QB like he would with a younger QB.
We don't know any of that. He had a young QB in Goff and moved on. I think it was Goff slower processing that sunk him.
If he finds the right rookie QB who has the knowledge, thinks fast and has all the tools who is any of us to say he does not take him ?
He traded for Atlanta's #1 for a reason, a higher pick then he could have gotten from his own team. His Pro Bowl QB is near the end.
I say take the young kid if its right. McVay with the right 22 year old keeps him here for a long time.
I want no part of our coach moving on. If Stan is smart, he feels the same way.

Maybe...

Though the draft is miles away.... I would like to see a stud MLB drafted (unless we manage to get Landman to bite on a mediocre 2-3 year deal. Or an OL.... I have a feeling Stafford will be with the Rams through 2027 and we need to protect him.

Know all about Tyson, being the local team. Not really ready to dig into the rest just yet.

You know I’ll be banging the table again next spring for adding some blue chips at WR, RB and even TE.

OT as well.

Need more (dynamic) weapons for Stafford and beyond Stafford. Bottom line.

I like this Rams team a lot on offense, but still see a lack of speed/quickness/suddenness/explosives. When Kyren rips off a 30 yard run and it makes our eyes pop out with joy and shock….i know we can do better. They’re all over the league. Maybe we’ve got that guy in Hunter. He hasn’t sniffed a game day.

I just hope the health holds up until February. This is a special team.

If we are dumb enough to spend Atlanta's #1 on a freaking MLB this place will explode.
If not a QB then LT, WR or CB. Landman is just money and they will get it done without breaking the bank.

Just a thought.

If the Titans, Giants, and maybe even the Saints have the top 3 selections in this draft class do you think any of them would select Mendoza and move on from and deal their rookie QBs? I believe they would for a Manning or a Luck.

Titans and Giants ... No

Saints ... Yes

It's way ... Way ... WAY ... too early but at the moment, TN and the Giants are drafting 1 and 2, with Cleveland, New Orleans, the Jets and Las Vegas drafting 3 through 6.

If there is one Quarterback prospect clearly above the rest ... or two ... the Titans (and, possibly the Giants) could make-out exceptionally well trading-down just a couple spots.

Jets have the best draft pick assets to move up. Nobody can beat. I don’t think those words have ever been said about them. Lol

For some reason I believe the Jets go with a stopgap in 2027 and get their future franchise guy in 2027.
