I agree but the options are limited; and, if a really good veteran-QB option arises, it will be REALLY expensive.
Agreed, it comes with complications; however, failed 1st round QBs generally come at a cost as well. Often, multiple picks are traded to position yourself for the targeted prospect.
Next chapter will be very interesting, thankfully we have the right people handling it.

Not sure about this. Why would we pay a QB who has been injured over 30% of his career to this point. He ain't gonna get more durable as he gets older, although I think we could protect him better than the Bungles. I just hes too brittle, could be wrong though.
Please refer to exhibit A - (Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions who had been injured several times in the last few seasons).

I would only feel comfortable with a rookie QB if they were a unicorn. It’s such a gamble.

I am all in on Burrow, but I realize it would take twice as much trade assets as it did for Stafford.

It won't be a popular take, nor will it be easy to pull off........
However, I am sold on the Stafford method: deal for an established QB you believe in and pursue them.
Mitigating the cost/risk of trade-ups and bust potential of drafted QBs makes sense, but the complication is how?
All things in play, this would be my route and you all know the targets...
I, too, like the "Stafford method" but how often are Stafford quality QB on the trade block? Has there ever been an elite QB in his prime that was traded?

If we want to go the reclamation project route, Bryce Young might actually be a great option. I don't think Carolina is ready to give up on him yet. But you never know. Why Bryce Young? IMO, he's the type of QB who should get better with age and experience. His game isn't predicated on arm strength or elite mobility. It's predicated on his football IQ, processing ability, and accuracy. QBs like that take time to develop.

Same size as Bennett, if that.

No

Not sure what the Rams will do. But I think when the QB prospects show up the whiteboard will tell everything.
McVay might fall in love with a QB.
Or he might want to go with a vet because he does not like what he see's and hears.
Myself, I want him to find a young QB who is not injury prone and has it all upstairs. So we get 10-15 more years of McVay.

The Stafford move is the outlier, like drafting Brady in the 6th round, signing Warner as an UDFA.
And the biggest thing folks forget is that along with the significant draft compensation, they also gave Detroit a franchise QB as well.
Teams dont trade top 5 QB's, but they do trade Joe Flacco, Russell Wilson, Geno Smith, Kenny Pickett etc.
Alas, the Stafford sitch was a lottery ticket that the Rams were able to cash.

If McVay is our coach after Stafford, I think go veteran. That seams to work for McVays personality, and I don't think McVay crosses a line with a veteran QB like he would with a younger QB.

That all depends on if they like someone they will have the opportunity to draft. I believe what the Rams have learned in rebuilding the defense and moving on from Aaron Donald is, they like the contracts of drafted players. If there is a QB you like and want to develop, that contract is very cap friendly providing you the opportunity to spend money in other areas.

LaNorris Sellers could be in play here IMO as the Head Coach of South Carolina is Shane Beamer, who is a rah, rah, guy and not much else. They fired Mike Shula so before Chris Shula moves on to become HC, maybe his Uncle provides some intel on Sellers. Sellers would be able to sit behind Stafford, learn and develop. He has a big arm and also has the ability to extend plays and would get the opportunity to sit and learn. Smart kid too, great team player, never complaining considering how this season has gone.

I wonder how the JJ McCarthy-KOC experience will color McVay’s view on this. Hard to overstate how much tension is created in a locker room when you got a roster that’s ready to contend but the young QB is holding them back.

Minnesota butchered that situation completely, I dont think the outcome enters McVay's mind in any way, shape or form.
He's already proven what he can do with a 1st round talent QB

He's an intriguing possibility. One thing I do with these prospects is watch their interviews to try to get a feel for their personality, and he seems like a great kid and as you say he hasn't tried to whine or point the finger which to me is very important as a fit for McVay. So this would not surprise me and he's not the only one in this draft that fits a nice futures profile in this offense. Also he's gonna measure in over 6'2".

Height is what's working against Bennett as the future. The greater your throw volume the more that matters, and with McVay there are times where the QB has to carry the offense.

I'm eager to see who declares. Think it was McShay who said he expected Sellers to return, which to me is absurd. If that kid goes back there after that line they gave him he's a fool. He needs to either hit the transfer portal or declare. And if I were his agent I'd be trying to find him a legit offense and coach to play for in college because I think he's a 1 overall type talent potentially. If I couldn't find that for him then I'd tell him to declare.

Clearly the Rams need to draft a Devante Adams clone. You know, a future HOF’er who can beat man to man and do it all with speed. Should be easy enough.

If he leaves, retires or falls of a cliff… Nacua will get beat to shit into IR and Stafford will be throwing to JAG’s.

This is the guy, he's like Anquan Boldin 2.0

So here's what I fear with Sellers. He's a South Carolina kid, so I wouldnt be surprised that he hits the portal when Beamer gets fired and the new Clemson coach throws a ton of NIL money at him (heck, his brother too)
Dabo is going to be out and his resistance to use the NIL is his downfall. So with a stash of NIL money and new coach, Sellers could be it
