If there is a QB worth trading up for, the opportunity will be there. With the Titans, Giants, and Saints currently picking 1,2,3, all 3 might be willing to trade down. Titans have Ward, Giants have Dart, and Shough has not looked bad for New Orleans. Then consider that there are no slam dunk studs expected to go 1 or 2, those teams may decide to stand pat at QB.

So it will come down to how much the Rams like one of these guys and how much are they willing to overpay in draft capital in a trade. If they have to trade both #1's this year, hopefully they could at least get back a high 3rd in return and maybe you send another 27' pick in the package.

He's 45 on the consensus big board at nflmockdraftdatabase.
Yeah the boards are bullshit at this time of year. The stacking of so many groups are going to see changes, and then you have the positions that are dependent on 40 times, like WR and CB, where final slotting waits for their official times.

So if you look at the wideout board up top there's so much talent that some of them are gonna smoke their 40, which means the translation is we're gonna have WR up there as BPA options. The big type of WRs with real juice too, who McVay rarely gets to look at.

And the corners for example I think Chris Johnson is gonna jump way up the board. He's a goddamn stud. The dude pops on special teams. Might as well write "We Not Me" on his forehead.

I'm in the camp that has MS9 playing (hopefully) for a couple more years, and the Rams taking the BPA with the top #1st rounder, and again for the second one. It would be great to grab a big, fast and physical CB first if that's who the BPA is, and a big fast physical WO with the second 1st rounder.
Next, I'm liking some help on the O line, and there should be several options / choices available on day 2 to beef up at center and tackle.
The team has done fairly well with grooming UDFA's for the O line, but it may be time to invest a higher pick there, particularly at center, in the '26 draft.
We need a big, bad ass center with a nasty attitude leading the O line, imo.

Nice thing about Center is the wheelhouse for them seems to be rounds 2-4. So the top two picks are open for BPA and frankly that's what the Rams need to do with them.

Lot of us have wanted a top corner for a while now. Rams march to the beat of their own drum though and have been quite frugal at the position while they loaded the defensive front. So at this point it does seem like hitting on a top corner would juice the hell out of this defense. I am with you on that.

This tackle class at the top seems a bit subpar. But as I have mentioned before Fano would sure look good on our depth chart. It would be really nice to have a third OT who has the feet to project to the left side.

Rams have taught me to not get my hopes up with any one position in any given draft. But it does feel like OT and CB are desired positions to upgrade in the draft if they are there. In the end though what we need are elite players. If Les can find two elite additions with those first round picks, regardless of position, that would be the best case scenario of course.

Fano would be an amazing pick, as good as McClendon has looked to upgrade RT with a player like Fano is nothing to dismiss (Mauigoa would be there too IMO). That said pasing on Downs and Simpson seems unlikely.

I like the work Brugler does but that's high on Freeling from what I've seen and a few others.

Terrell is on the smaller side more slender than anything but he has the cover skills and speed. Some might just lose their minds over us drafting another CB from Clemson :D

I doubt the national media knows that Warren McClendon may be the long-term answer at RT. They're probably just looking at Hav's impending free agency and assuming OT is a huge need.
Actually, I think Bruglar in his mock says McClendon may make his pick moot.

Well...good for him, I'm impressed!

I wish that was reflected in his mock, though, because McClendon has been playing much better than what we were getting from Hav this year and probably last year too.

I'd much rather see that pick used on a position where a huge upgrade will be felt.

Fano is a huge upgrade over McClendon and on a rookie deal for 5 years while McClendon is a free agent after next season. Add to that with our other 1st round pick we got another huge upgrade with a CB. Two first round picks two huge upgrades.

That said I doubt Fano is picked over Simpson or Sellers who he doesn't even have mocked in the 1st let alone likely the best player in college in Caleb Downs.

BTW at this point I am convinced that Mendoza and Maiava are 1-2 on the board for sure in one combination or the other if Maiava declares. Mendoza is a bit more polished, Maiava is more upside but neither of those dudes are going to be on the board long.

I would be pretty pissed if we drafted Maiava with a top 10 pick.

Yeah, the 5-year contract would be nice. This is admittedly short-term thinking, but I would really like someone whose impact we feel next year. I asked myself, would Fano cause the offense to score more points next year? I honestly don't think it would because McClendon is doing a great job in pass pro and run blocking.

But it should be considered for wise long-term team building.

I doubt Sellers gets anywhere close to the 9th pick. Simpson yes.

I have a hard time believing that Downs, Love or Simpson would just float by the Rams
At the very least if they don't want to burn a #1 on a RB, that's a scenario where maybe they can trade back a few spots to a team who wants Love.

And unless Simpson has a mediocre draft process, I would assume they draft him or a team in front of them takes him, or a team trades in front of them, to take him.
