But doesn't picks 24 AND 14 equate to a Top 5 pick for a team in that range that is NOT taking a Quarterback???!!!

Anyways, i believe OUR pick is going to be significantly lower than 24.
You are correct! Picks 14 and 24 equate in value to pick 4. And McSnead is aggressive, so we don't have to assume they'll only be in play for a second-tier guy. I'd say the odds are higher for a massive trade-up than for a 2nd or mid-round QB.

Every year the chosen ones rise and fall. I’m guessing by the end of the season a totally different QB picture will be painted. I still think this is a pretty deep class of good and potential very good QBs. Some will show the chinks in the armor, others may really step up.

If there are 4 or so QBs that look good, it may very well be that we could get our guy with a pick in the top 10-15 or so. Look at Dart from last year. I think we might have taken him if he fell just a little further. I think he has potential franchise QB written all over him. And that class appeared to be weaker than this year’s crop.

The top 2 or 3 teams could take QBs. If it's the Jets, Miami, Saints, Browns, then SOL. Now, Browns are showing enough life, they may not pick that high. We'll just have to wait and see. So the point is, no guarantee they can or will trade up for QB or even take one in rd 1.

Also, if Stafford has a healthy MVP caliber season, as he has thus far, and comes back in 26', then all bets are off. They may just take the two best players that can address needs, and try to win a SB in 26' again.

You're right. There is no guarantee they will trade up for a QB or take one in round 1, but given that they have two 1st-round picks this year, the timing couldn't be better to nab the QB of the future. If I were betting, I'd put the odds much higher that they trade up than waiting until the 2nd or later.

I think we forget that McSnead is aggressive. Every year, they attempt a bold trade-up. Imagine how much more aggressive they will be for a QB.

Traditional wisdom would say you’re right but I suspect this scouting department has had QB as their biggest quest for at least 3 years and I’m confident that they have some ideas that none of us see. Yes, they could have their top choices taken early but they probably also have a couple they’d be willing to make moves for, a QB they think may drop to them or a QB they feel they can nab from another team.

I don’t think we’ll wait another year even if Stafford decides to play in ‘26 or even ‘27.

For sure, this year’s draft will be interesting with two #1s in our pocket and a full complement - at least until the trade deadline. I still think we are in play for a CB. Even if Spoon comes back he will need a couple games to get back up to speed and he’s good but not one I’d trust as the #1 against playoff teams.

I’m expecting that the entire Rams organization would LOVE to win the Superbowl in whiner land. And isn’t SOFI getting another one soon?

I think this organization understands that they can’t win it every year but will do what it can to be in contention and then pull the trigger when it’s within their grasp.

McVay is in a great situation and so are Snead, Pastoors, and KD. I’m guessing they realize that and I see no reason for those core people to move on or retire.

Our owner is shrewd and spends money to have people who know football. And he leaves them the fuck alone. And the Rams are his crown jewel.

Shit! I’m giving myself a woody. :laugh4:
