I m not a draftnik butI haven't seen many names brought up that support that opinion, Arch Manning aside.
Here you go in no particular order. BTW Dolly Madison's favorite ice cream...Oyster!
  1. Arch Manning, Texas
  2. LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina
  3. Clade Klubnik, Clemson
  4. Drew Allar, Penn State
  5. Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
  6. Nico Iamaleava, UCLA
  7. Sam Leavitt, Arizona State
  8. Carson Beck, Miami
  9. Taylen Green, Arkansas
  10. Fernando Mendoza, Indiana

He's started for one year so writing a guy off right now before the 2025 season is very very premature.
Nowhere in my post, did I say I was writing the guy off.

As far as seeing what I want to see. How many receivers in that vid were wide open?
I saw almost all of them wide open.

What is your perception of wide open?

My comment was about you not seeing what you want. You're very very rarely going to see everything you want in a QB at 19 years old and what 11 starts? Give the kid a chance and see what he's good at instead of trying to figure out at his age and experience level if he's a draft ready QB. Remember this time last year Ward was a 5th round pick and Sanders was the #1 pick. Players grow and fail to grow. As I said Sellers is not a finished product.

I’m not counting the kid out at all.
It’s actually the opposite.
I was asking sincere questions for anyone whom has actually watched him play full games.

I’m hoping to see some of these young guys take some steps forward this upcoming season.

We are in solid position to move up and draft our next QB.
The best scenario for us, is that there are a few talented kids, that are very viable options.

We know there is no finished product coming out of college, but when I see a highlight video of a qb, I would hope to see some NFL required passes.
For every CJ Stroud, there are far more Bryce Young’s.

There's a difference in a Goff talent vs one of those bluechip QBs who sometimes grace that 1 overall spot.

As long as we see some Bryce Perkins, we're golden. ~ @den-the-coach

Aren't many highlight videos of 19 year olds in their first year of starting going to give you those but if that's what you want best of luck. That's what I'm trying to tell you.

Also any OC worth a damn is going to do as much scripted offens as they can to help a 19 year old freshman. I guess it's just not an issue to me.

I think they are better than Goff was as the #1 Pick and he rated three first rounders, plus.

So we’re not supposed to ask questions?
I’m not buying that.

Where did I say that.

You said you didn't see what you wanted to. I said don't give up on him. Meaning keep watching this season and I bet you'll see it. I'm sorry this was so hard to follow. I think this kid is going to be really good. I think his freshman year was a glimpse of what we'll get from him. I think his OC fed him plays which led to you not seeing what you want. But a good OC is going to feed him stuff to build up his confidence and get experience and grow.

Ask all the questions you want, you doing that is literally why we are exchanging posts right now.

Sorry you didn't get why I was telling you not to give up on him.

Barring injury both of them will. With Arch coming off a National Championship.
Doubt it. The Manning's have stressed the importance staying in 4 years in the past and I doubt the kid will need any money.

National Championship? Anything is possible, but Texas just lost it's starting WRs, TE, most of their OLine, and RB Blue on offense and their best CB, S, DTs, and EDGE on defense.

So not many names mentioned here other than Manning and Sellers. So Nussmeier, Klubnik, Allar, and Iamaleava are worthy or no?
Potentially, time will tell. They have the tools.
It's still to early to call because alot can happen in 1 season. But if I had to pick one it would be Allar. He just keeps improving every year.
I have yet to be impressed with anything from Allar outside of his hand cannon.

I realize the thread topic; and appreciate the need for a QB of the future.

However, I keep coming-back to the Rams being in a position of drafting one of the top-two WRs, CBs or OTs with the higher of the two first round picks; and one of the top 3-to-4 WRs, CBs or OTs with the other #1 pick.

Agreed. It all depends on what Stafford is telling McVay and what McVay is seeing from Stafford on the field. Even a rookie that sits for two years isn’t likely to be able to play to Stafford’s level, ever, no matter how much they sit and learn.

If Stafford is saying he has three or four good years left then a QB of the future may get put on hold. I doubt anyone is telling the press what Stafford really has in mind.

It's not often that a contending team like the Rams is in a position to get someone like Arch Manning. The family may decide that not going to Cleveland might be worth it with the Rams ready to "Eff them Picks" for the right QB.

They would have no guarantee of the Rams being in said position unless the Rams had the #1 overall selection by the January early declaration deadline. Unless the Falcons or Rams stink out loud and earn that selection that's doubtful to happen. Any potential trade would happen after that declaration deadline.

Well, of course.
But there is a history of Arch Manning's uncle Eli refusing to play for a team that drafted him. With multiple first round picks, this should put the Rams in a position to draft whoever they want... Arch could help direct the process if he wanted....

Yeah, I think Taylen Green has a real shot of being special. You can't teach 6'6", 230 lbs. and 4.5 speed. I really liked the kid's game when Mizzou played Arkansas.

I’m definitely not giving up on him.

The more viable QBs in next years draft, the better for us.

We must hit next year with Matt’s replacement.
