From that highlight reel, I’m not seeing what I want to see.
I see a fast QB throwing to wide open WRs. Sometimes those guys are slowing down in their routes or making adjustments to the ball.
Guys aren’t that open in the NFL. Not regularly anyway.

Can he throw guys open?

Can he stand in the pocket for multiple reads without bailing out?

Those are some things I’d like to see.

I don’t watch much College ball and am seriously just asking some questions.

So not many names mentioned here other than Manning and Sellers. So Nussmeier, Klubnik, Allar, and Iamaleava are worthy or no?

I already stated that unless Allar takes a huge leap in mental processing and reading the field it’s a no for me. He has all of the physical tools but he hasn’t proven to have it mentally.

If we win this year's Super Bowl our first rounder is basically a second rounder in value. So unless the Falcons lose their asses off this season (top five), or unless both we and the Falcons lose a ton of games, we have zero chance of moving into pick one or two.

Now of course if you want to fap to the thought of Manning or Sellers knock yourself out. But that shit's about as likely to happen as me getting a date with Marisa Tomei. :woozy2:

What the Rams are going to do very soon is pull the trigger on a QB who has the tools but is not necessarily in the early going. Which means he is most likely going to be a bit of a project along the lines of Dart from this year. I haven't started looking hard at that class yet because I think it's pointless to do so before this season. But there will be some options who slot into that type of role in the draft and those will be our targets. And you can bet the Rams are going to be aggressive because that extra pick means they don't have to sit and watch another team swoop in front of them again.

You see what you want to see.

As for can he throw guys open question I think the better question is can he be taught to do that? He's started for one year so writing a guy off right now before the 2025 season is very very premature. The arm talent is there lets see what he can do.

As for the bailing out part I'd refer you to the above and ask you if you think McVay would want a guy who can run when needed? Yes I think all QB's can be taught to stand in there more than they do.

Again he's young, turns 20 in 2 months, and has limited starts. But the physical ability is there so lets see what he does this year. Personally with what he did as a red shirt freshman I'm very excited for this young man.

With limited viewing of these guys, what a feast of QB options, without going 0-17! Right now, my top three would be:
1. Arch Manning: he's a good-great thrower and is a strong runner. He's not afraid of contact AND comes from a great lineage with a history of a great work ethic. He's been working from High School to now under the pressure of high expectations and has delivered. His name was actually a hindrance to me picking him, but he overcame that with me.
2. Cade Klubnick: really like this kid almost picked him over Arch. He gets hit and keeps coming. I want a tough QB.
3. LaNorris Sellers: dude is huge and will rarely be stopped in the red zone. I'd like to see better accuracy amd less designed runs.

He's got a career passer rating of 63.4, yet is somehow in the Hall of Fame...

How?
Completely different game pre-1970s.

Pass Defense rules made it difficult for receivers to get open.
Pass Blocking rules made it difficult to protect the quarterbacks.
Passing was very difficult.

When those rules were changed, the game changed.

Assuming the #1 was for sale next year, If Atlanta got somewhere around pick 8, why couldn't the Rams get up to #1 or #2 if they had a package of 3 1sts and a 2nd or two?

Of course they could. Most everything has a price....

I agree. I'm trying to understand the rationale for those insisting it can't be done. There's been very few 3 1sts packages and I think we'd offer that for the right guy.

This is what we gave up for Jared Goff:
"Are we underestimating the Titans moving forward? Tennessee just struck gold, but as we saw from the Rams-Redskins trade in 2012, there is still a chance to miss on a bevy of high picks. Still, Robinson gets the No. 15 overall selection in this year's draft and, at the moment, two first-round picks in next year's draft. He has three second-round picks and two thirds this year, too."
