I cant see where the NCAA wont grant him the 6th year

They (Chambliss and Ole Miss) are appealing the original negotiation, from what I've seen where he'd be eligible. The results are not going to happen until Ole Miss is either eliminated or wins the whole thing.

I know that he really wants to stay, but if he's smart, he should definitely come out, especially with the quarterback class turning out so completely weak this year. You've got Mendoza, Moore, and...well, that's literally it. Them and Chambliss are the only QBs I'd want to take in this draft. Simpson's lost a lot of value, and he'd be best off going back to Alabama anyway.

I'm just praying that we're not stupid and decide to take Beck or Pavia. So many character issues with both of them, and I'd be very upset if one of them was one of our picks.

that's solid

so we can still talk about Manning then

And Sellers, Mateer, Maiava, Sorsby, Lagway, Raiola, Leavitt, Mensah, Sayin, Holstein, Chiles, etc. Possibly even Chambliss and Simpson, if their waivers are granted or - less likely but still a possibility - possibly even Moore if he decides to stay at Oregon. And someone will rise as well; there's always that possibility.

2027 has the potential to be stacked.

They started the process in November, and they supplied documentation in December.
Sounds to me like they need to see significant medical documentation in order to grant it.
Either way the kid is in for a financial windfall

True that, and good for him. I'm secretly hoping he comes out and we draft him; he just fits that model that the Rams have of a guy who worked his way up from a small school to dominate on the biggest stage (like Young, Turner, Verse, Fiske, and Stewart, only on offense).

Again, just wish he was bigger. At least he isn't frail looking like Bennett. More of a Mayfield type, just a little better athlete.

I would still take a flyer on Sawyer Robertson, if he is there in the 5th or 6th. Maybe even Allar in the 6th or 7th.

If Roberston checks out above the neck, I would even take him 4/5.

He's not huge, but Baker Mayfield isn't huge either, and Chambliss is by far the better athlete. He has a great arm, and he's smart with the football. The next few months will be telling, either way.

Robertson scares me on the mental side, and Allar has never been on my radar.

I do have a small idea, though: the Las Vegas Raiders barely used their second-round receiver, Jack Bech. I wonder...if he doesn't fit the coaching staff's mold of a receiver, why not trade our third-round pick for him? I think he has potential, and we need receivers.

Wasn't Bech the guy that we were saying last year was in the Kupp / Nacua mold? It may be redundant skill sets.

He's a lot faster than Kupp currently is and was with Nacua as a rookie (and probably about the same in Coop's prime) with the same short-area quickness. Imagine a potential prime Kupp-like player with a potential prime Nacua - and Nacua gets hurt enough to have to have someone with a similar skillset in the lineup.

Look, talent is talent. If he's a good player I'd like him on the team, redundant skill set or not.

But ideally, you get talent that compliments, not duplicates. If there's anyway possible, I'd use those trade assets for talented, complimentary pieces.

I put on my cast iron jock strap on so when you all kick me in the nads it may dappen the pain with my next comment.

I may want to use draft picks in a trade again for another Stafford type. Just not Burrows.

Ouch, Ouch, Ouch.....umph.

BYU has a kid this year, a big kid that would be a fit it seems, Chase Roberts. The draft simulators have him as a 5th/6th rd guy. Might be a name to follow. Not explosive, but a big target, seems to get 50/50 balls, good route runner. If they get a speed guy early, this guy might be an option late.
