He's the same guy. The Cardinals just aren't as good up front. Any good QB is liable to cough up the ball playing a good defense. Murray had 2 fumbles and an INT. Brady had 2 INTs. Wilson have had a fumble and 2 INTs a few weeks ago. Doesn't mean they are trash or washed or didn't prepare.

Shit happens. It's football.

Thursday night is truly going to show us what type of QB and football team we have.
Not any more than TB did or the whiners or Bears or Eagles or Bills or Seahawks...not to isolate you, Den, but I’m just exhausted by the weekly temperature-taking of Jared Goff....well, this game is REALLY going to justify Goff’s position...blah, blah, blah

NE is a major test. Would love to see McVay scheme up an excellent game and Jared play lights out against the damn Pats. We all know why we need this W. If we win, I'll have a ton of confidence for a deep playoff push.

I get frustrated with Goff because we've seen him play at elite levels, we just need him to be consistent. That's not always all on him, it depends on the rest of the offense too. Having said, McVay, rightly so, criticized his QB last week for being responsible for unacceptable (if you wanna win games that is) turnovers.

Proud of how he responded against a divisional rival. Looking forward to this Thursday night game!

He had a good game today, props to him. He definitely is talented, my problem is that I wouldnt be surprized if he commit 2 game changing TOs vs Pats. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

That’s a good point, but I want to see our QB & Offense hold up against a physical in your face defense, that’s all.

Here's the deal, Goff also needs to protect the football when the rhythm is off and today, he did an excellent job of throwing the ball away and even taking a sack when nothing was there. Will have to do that on Thursday, let me put this way, IMO, Thursday night is truly going to show us what type of QB and football team we have.
Agreed Den. This is an enormous game for Goff. Belichick will take away the run and some of Goff's favored short routes. It's going to be a big challenge for him and the other 10 of our offense as well in a primetime matchup because New England is starting to play much better and we're gonna get a playoff team as a matchup IMO.

We need this game. Goff is going to need to make quick decisions and throw it away when it's not there (i.e. be patient). The line has to play well too, and if they and the RBs can keep their shit together and weather the early going I think we could end up with some run game late. I'd also like to see Jefferson get more looks, he sure does look automatic when that ball goes to him.

I'm excited though about Thursday. We're 8-4 let's handle the cheatriots and roll the easy remaining sched into the playoffs like a fuckin avalanche. :horns::cool::horns:

Goff simply needs to not force himself to do everything every time. Let the game come to him because it's mental. He's over competitive IMO and feels the need to take that extra step whether it's warranted or not. If he simply plays within his skill set and the flow of the game understanding there is a very good defense who will keep them in the game. Also, I think that McVay is still retarding his development by micro-managing him. McVay wants him to take ownership of the offense but won't give him control of the LOS before the snap by making audibles depending upon his own reads.

Ultimately, IMO most of this is of McVay's own makings. Sean refuses to take the training wheels off and it shows. McVay himself doesn't want to give up total control. In doing so he is retarding Jared's development. The bottom line is that IMO McVay is the biggest problem with Goff.

When Mcvay allows Goff to roll out he's near unstoppable. I am not sure why this wasn't in the plans vs SF and Miami.

Goff is projected to finish #3 passer in the NFL, when measuring by passing yards. His production is undeniable.

If he can continue with the ball security and Mcvay can continue to utilize Jared-on-the-move then we are going to be a hard team to beat.

The pass protection is starting to get concerning. It's getting a little leaky. But the rollouts are a great counter.

Also, I truly believe our pass sets up the run. It's sort of backwards but it was pretty obvious that once the Cards had to sell out to stop the pass, the big runs kicked in. I think that is our identity. Before that we were getting stuffed over and over.

I believe this is true to an extent. I wouldn't describe it in such extreme terms myself. I mean, MCvays system creates lots of comfy passes and reads for Goff. It so happens Goff's elite accuracy works real well in that system. But I agree, to an extent Goff is limited with the control of play call and it often creates a rushed situation with minimal room for audible or what Jared wants to do.

Im here but I had duty for most of the game so I just saw bits and pieces.

He got off to a rocky start but he was slinging the ball well gotta say. No turnovers so yay.

With that said I think he's still a bum until proven otherwise. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Been watching him long enough to see that he'll light it up against mediocre defenses but the second we play a tough D he will fall apart.

I honestly want to be wrong. I do.

Goff looked good today I loved the TD pass to Higbee. I was happy to see him spread the ball around more. He did a good job escaping the pocket under pressure and extending plays as well. He looked good on the roll outs too. He also protected the ball well which was the most important thing imo. Overall it was a damn good day for #16. Way to bounce back just like we knew you could.

None of us are in the huddle, but it appears to me that he has. Goff is getting multiple plays and has the power to change the play at the LOS. A lot of times, we're breaking the huddle right as the mic cuts out. That means Goff is the one changing protections and the play. Even when we get to the LOS fast, Goff is often making adjustments after the mic turns off. I think he has that ownership now.
