Even nice guys can be assholes from time to time. It's a trick that holds a lot of weight when you use it very sparingly.
I can't say one way or another. I lean toward "great guy but can be an asshole when necessary. "
I dont think we extend our players early the way we have if Sean is an asshole. Sure, Snead has final say but I am willing to bet that McVay has more authority than we realize. Perhaps it isn't even authority so much as a great working relationship with Sneed in which sneed respects the hell out of McVay. Idk, but we didn't extend dudes like that under fisher. Then again, I think fisher had final say back then so who knows.
Maybe it doesn't have to do with being a great dude at all and it is purely a result of the Rams trying to get ahead of the projected cap increases.
I can say that Gurley's attitude problem was BS considering how much he got paid, and paid earlier than the Rams had to. Good God, imagine if the rams waited a year. Does he get that much money? Show some appreciation. Gurley=asshole.
Am I the only one who has noticed that when questionable character players come here, they don't really do questionable things anymore? Surely I'm not.
In some instances it is an amazing difference. Look at Ramsey before & after. The guy tweets about Jesus now. In fact, many of the Rams players have Jesus all over their Twitter and Instagram. I find that very amazing and indicative of the culture. Does it have anything to do with Sean? Who knows. It may have to do with who Whitworth is as a mentor and leader. That guy is the very definition of what a Christian is supposed to be. Not to get too religious on here but mainstream Christianity has missed the mark since the advent of the Roman Catholic Church. It's supposed to be about having a personal relationship with God. You can tell when someone really gets it, know them by their fruits, and Whitworth does.
Sorry for the insane rant. My adhd is in overdrive.
Cheers.
