Akers, Henderson and Funk all looked good in TC. A lot of emphasis on targeting rb's coming out of the backfield. As to Edwards, he's the weak link is bullcrap. The weak link just signed in Carolina.

Our RB's have pretty much proven themselves as receivers, but will our OL be opening holes for their rush attack ?

The Patriots have less cap space than the Rams.

I don' see a fit.

In the past, I have been correct about these type of things a solid 44%-46% of-the-time.
But he's also already accounted for in NE's cap. So even if they ate half, they'd still be opening up cap space. Either ways, I imagine the money makes it unlikely, and I certainly wouldn't give up a Day 2 pick. But it's an option.

Did you see Williams running around?
I watched a game Edwards looked bad last season.
I agree with you BubbaRam,you had the best seats in the house at training camp.
Yeah Corbett won’t be missed, but it’s still going to be interesting how this all plays out after 17 games.I have a feeling The Rams have a enough talent upfront that there will be a surprise player that steps up & locks down a starting lineup for 2023.

My guess is David Edwards is gone next season IMO. Which at this point doesn’t count for much. Then again I feel strongly about The Rams depth chart is solid. The talk about trading for a O’Lineman is Bullcrap.

You honestly think it’s a good idea to trade or bring in a O’Lineman.
That this young players aren’t very good & ascending players?

—Of course if we go by draft status it makes sense. UdrFA’s & 7th rd picks.
So I guess I’m drinking to much of the Cool-aide again.

My track record though has been very very solid since Mcvay has been HC.

Get stronger through the process and time of recovery.
Take the time to really understand the offense, schemes and execution of his role.
Long term, I think Bruss certainly shows promise.
I was hoping he could step in right away and start.....but, that wasn't going to happen. But, he wasn't terrible by any stretch in his first action.
Noteboom, Allen, Edwards.....the Rams didn't really rush any of these guys. They took time to develop them.
I would have had Kolone gone nearly as soon as he arrived.
The Rams took their time and it appears he has improved greatly.
Anchrum is another player they have taken time to develop.
Its more of an old school approach with the OL and I get it.
Good post!

When I spent a large amount of my time reevaluating Jeremiah Kolone's two preseason games, it gave me a new perspective & opinion of Logans Bruss. I see a promising starting RG in the future for the Rams.

The main problem that RG Bruss had to overcome was not the defenders in front of him but the poor play on each & every snap by his own players who he was working with RT Evans:poop: & OC Kolone:not:. The 3-player OL'er right side operation was miss firing:owned: most of the time. What a mess!

2023 preseason hopefully we will get to see Ram's top 2022 top draft selection Bruss playing next to real competent bonified NFL OL'ers who will be actually working with him in his OL blocking assignments. That was not the case this preseason..... a terrible shame:not::mad:. Carberry did Bruss no favors to assist him placing him between two bad performing OL'ers.

Rams players who must stand out in preseason finale vs. Bengals

For some players on the roster bubble, it all comes down to this. The Rams will play their final preseason game of 2022 on Saturday night against the Bengals, giving a large group of players one last chance to prove themselves and earn a spot on the 53-man roster.

Teams will have to trim their rosters down from 80 players to 53 next Tuesday, so time is running out for guys on the roster bubble. The Rams have plenty of players in that position, and while their jobs won’t be decided by one single game, this contest will have a big impact on the final impression left on the coaching staff.

OL Bobby Evans

1661356741709.png

Logan Bruss’ season-ending injury helps Evans’ chances of making the 53-man roster, and maybe he was going to make it anyway. But he’s struggled in the preseason and last week against the Texans, he played every offensive snap – not a great sign for a fourth-year lineman.

Evans is likely to get a lot of playing time again this Saturday in Cincinnati as he makes one last push to secure a spot on the team. He might be competing with rookie A.J. Arcuri for one of the final positions on the 53-man roster.

OL Chandler Brewer

1661356785119.png

Brewer is in a similar position as Evans, only he might have a slight advantage in the race to a roster spot. He can play tackle or guard and has looked good in the preseason, a step above Evans. The Rams’ offensive line room is filled with young talent, however, and Sean McVay has gone out of his way to praise both Tremayne Anchrum Jr. and A.J. Jackson this offseason.

Brewer would be one of the final linemen on the roster if he makes it, and after losing Bruss for the year, he might just find himself on the team come September

Rams who need to have a big preseason finale to make the final roster

The NFL preseason is nearing its end as the Los Angeles Rams wrap things up on Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals. For some of these players, it will be their final opportunity to show the coaching staff in a game setting that they deserve a place on the final 53-man roster. Below are five players for the Rams that need to play well in the preseason finale.

1. RT Bobby Evans

It’s hard to think that the Rams would cut Bobby Evans. At the very least, he’s experienced depth on the roster and that brings value. However, despite showing promise filling in for Rob Havenstein as a rookie, it’s been mostly disappointment for the former third round pick. Unfortunately, that hasn’t changed this preseason.

Evans has been extremely underwhelming with an overall PFF grade of just 38.7 and pass-blocking grade of 38.5. That 38.5 pass-blocking grade ranks 119th out of 135 qualified tackles. His six pressures allowed are tied for the second-most on the team.

Evans was a third-round pick, but at this point it’s pretty clear that things aren’t working out and he is clearly on the bubble. AJ Jackson has shown some promise and Chandler Brewer has played well at guard. Brewer is also someone that the Rams have invested time in, spending the majority of the last three years on the practice squad. Evans needs to show that he belongs on the roster and he’s someone who can be counted on as depth.

I have no idea. But if we're worried after Bruss, it's an option.

There’s no worry about Brusss. Imo it was actually the best thing that could have happened. Like Tutu & Harris both players get time to slow everything down & develop into better players.
Arcuri is a more diverse player anyway. I’ll keep pounding the table for AJ Jackson at RG for right now? He might be crap ? I’ve been watching him pound some people & open wholes.

Last week Inwas all about Williams. He must have got so much work in they held him out to run wild.

I have always had the opinion the Rams in most years should use a top 3 pick on the O line.
Keep it stocked up. Its a Rams tradition as well as a great running game.
They go hand in hand coach.

Yeah - sure let’s draft Miller & Robinson with the #2 pick overall.

What a tradition.

Have you been watching how Mcvay & Les Snead have been doing things of late?

Whitworth has passed on the torch to Big Rob Havenstien. He was the only exception, but Noteboom should be able to handle LT just fine & has proved it over a couple of games when Whitworth went down.

Rams’ backup offensive linemen look to improve after shaky preseason performance

Tremayne Anchrum is playing freely this summer and it helps that Coach Sean McVay has mentioned him in multiple news conferences

1661475093820.png

“It doesn’t matter who the hell is out there,” Rams guard Tremayne Anchrum said when asked about the poor preseason showing the backup offensive line had against the Houston Texas last week. “We gotta do better. We have to figure out those fundamentals. No matter what technique they play or different looks we see, we still have to apply our fundamentals and compete. We lost a lot of those battles (last week). We’re not proud of that.”

Rams guard Tremayne Anchrum was joking, but his facial expressions and deep breaths described the type of stress he and many other unproven players across the league are dealing with during the preseason.

“You can’t think about … making the team,” Anchrum said last week after the Rams’ preseason loss against the Houston Texans. “That stuff used to weigh me down back in the day, the last two years. But now I’ve cleared my head.”

Anchrum is playing freely in his third season and it helps that Rams coach Sean McVay has mentioned him during multiple news conferences as a player who has impressed this summer. But Anchrum, the team’s 2020 seventh-round draft pick, has quickly gone from roster bubble player to someone in need after the season-ending injury to rookie guard Logan Bruss, who tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee against the Texans.

McVay listed Anchrum, AJ Jackson and Bobby Evans as backup players expected to provide depth to the offensive line and all three are capable of playing guard or tackle. Anchrum started at right tackle for two seasons at Clemson, where he won a national championship in 2018, before moving to offensive guard in the NFL. Jackson is in line to be the swing tackle, but he’s seen snaps at guard during the preseason, and Evans has starting experience on the inside and outside.

The versatility of the trio could lead to the Rams only keeping eight offensive linemen when finalizing their 53-man roster after Saturday’s preseason finale against the Cincinnati Bengals. That would create an extra roster spot at other crowded positions, but most teams tend to keep nine offensive linemen and that might be wise after the injury to Bruss. Left tackle Joe Noteboom, left guard David Edwards, center Brian Allen, right guard Coleman Shelton and right tackle Rob Havenstein form the starting unit.

McVay expressed confidence in Anchrum, Jackson and Evans to be ready in case more injuries occur, but he mentioned that he wasn’t pleased with the backup offensive line’s performance against the Texans last week. Backup quarterback John Wolford was sacked five times in the first half with Anchrum, Jackson and Evans blocking for him.

Anchrum declined the excuse of the backup offensive line playing against most of the Texans’ starting defense.

“It doesn’t matter who the hell is out there,” Anchrum said. “We gotta do better. We have to figure out those fundamentals. No matter what technique they play or different looks we see, we still have to apply our fundamentals and compete. We lost a lot of those battles (last week).

“We’re not proud of that. We take pride in keeping our guys up. … It wasn’t a great showing. We picked it up toward the end, but there’s a lot that we left out there that we should have fixed.”

Anchrum can breathe a sigh of relief. His job is likely secured, but the Rams’ reserve offensive linemen need a bounce-back performance against the Bengals on Saturday.

I am curious on how this all goes down.Could Wolford go on the pup list with a Finger-Nail ? LMAO

The Rams left a roster spot open on the 53 for AJ Jackson all season,a long with Perkins. They weren’t game day players for the most part.

Arcuri I think is that player this year fills that spot.I just wish he looked better at RT! He played excellent LT late & I think he is more of a RG.

Jackson to me is The Rams best RG? Shelton though has proven himself & has a little nasty in him.During training camp the days I watched Brian Allen had at least one or too days off.Shelton was the center during those practices.

LMAO - what was his choices ? I get what your saying, but come on Bonifay’d. Why wasn’t Bruss good enough in his own right & he didn’t do that much better next to Allen & Havenstien In training camp. To me that is a Freaking Poor Excuse.

Well from what I’ve noticed about Anchrum is he doesn’t look small out there & he can get to the next level.
He might be The Rams best LG? Well besides David Edwards of course. BubbaRam hates I’m down on Edwards. He is right, but I’ve been disappointed in his play a little. He use to be The Ram upfront that would have been The O’Lineman on The Rams in 2022.Now I wonder if he is the weak link.
Doing against AD99 doesn’t help, but saw J. Williams getting by him when he sat out & that next practice when AD99 was fresh got abused.
Watched a couple of the playoff games & he looked like the weak link against Cinncy & 9ers? Those were the top NFL teams in The NFL though. Still as Anchrum says. It doesn’t matter who your going up against?

Here is my witness,but BubbaRam.

SATURDAY at 3pm local time do we get our look at Williams & then what are your thoughts before the game after training camp.

Add David Edwards has been the most solid Ram guard since he has been & won a SuperBowl with The Rams.

That said. Who were The Rams best backup Offensive Lineman. Which players make The Rams 53 upfront?

Did Bobby Evans do enough? You thought he got cut or traded from your early reports. I saw him only on 2nd team walk throughs.

AJ Jackson has surprised me at RG & from what I’ve seen in preseason & training camp(Shelton playing center) that Jackson was The Rams best RG.
Bruss never impressed me,so his injury was never concerning & might have been The Best thing for The Rams roster. As well as Wolford’s fingernail?

The Rams didn't need OL last year, so that expense wasn't necessary. What the Rams really required was a RB, and they traded away two draft picks and assumed Sony Michel's CAP. Just saying that teams do what they must to stay competitive. Sure a RB is cheaper than an offensive lineman or an Edge, but our CAP was pretty tight last year as well, although they still traded two more draft picks away for Von Miller, and the bulk of his CAP costs were built into his incentives which came out of our current 2022 CAP.
I'll repeat, I'm not frozen on acquiring Wynn, but I do believe a high caliber player who can help our run game and potentially replace Edwards next season would be highly beneficial. jmo.
Yeah - ok if your playing Fantasy football & not in a keeper league. Then that would even change things.

Last year, at this point-in-time, there was a ton of concern here about the Rams' O-Line and whether it was good enough. The Rams front office and coaching staff thought so, and they were right. But on this Forum, there was a lot of concern.

My point was there did not need to be as much concern last year at this time; so, perhaps concern is not warranted this time either.

Again, I also have O-Line concerns; and did even before Bruss' injury. However, last year at this time, I hated the idea of Brian Allen starting at center.

We have the same concerns and hopes.
My concerns & hopes are no one claims any of The Rams young Offensive Lineman in Arcuri & Snyder.

Snyder though as if your looking through a blind eye won’t notice his talents. Maybe my eyesight is ALL messed up from drinking to much of The Rams Kool-aide.

IMO & probably mine only(Rams front office?) , that Bruss,Arcuri, & Snyder are the future upfront.

In my defense I only watched one on one’s vs. D’Lineman(do Rams edge rushers suck?) & those guys showed up & held there own. It was only a 10 minute drill, but intense competition.

Then the 3 came out after practice after walk throughs & worked drill with a coach. Then signed autographs.

Those 2 rookies looked as good if not better than Bruss. They priced to me they all gave nice NFL futures.

Yes- I’ve seen them all since Havenstien & Jamon Brown. Even that guy Robinson who was a joke. That long hair guy from Kansas. Snyder fixed his hair like a PRO when on the field. I respect his toughness, work ethic & skill level.
IMO Snyder is a guy like Shelton who can play Guard, but will be a NFL center. I also think learning from Kolone for a season helps him develop at a nice pace. Plus he has less film to be stock away on the practice squad.
I really like his Size & body type.He just needs to get stronger. Was glad he got blasted against a D’Lineman against Houston.
