Andrew Whitworth's delight to see International Pathways Program player Max Pircher movin' a body up there was really neat. Whitworth spent so much time teaching and guiding Pircher since he got to LA.

Yeah - sure let’s draft Miller & Robinson with the #2 pick overall.

What a tradition.

Have you been watching how Mcvay & Les Snead have been doing things of late?

Whitworth has passed on the torch to Big Rob Havenstien. He was the only exception, but Noteboom should be able to handle LT just fine & has proved it over a couple of games when Whitworth went down.
Hey Num Num, what in the world does suggesting our current coaches spending capitol on the O line have anything to do with what Jeff Fisher drafted ?
You can find great running backs and receivers beyond round 1. But 320lbs and quick feet you can not teach.
A great O line makes average RB, receivers and QBs good. It is the most important unit on any football team period.
Its football 101. And I think McVay and Snead would do a fine job of drafting O linemen if they just tried.

As most of us have commented regularly on the OL the official initial 2022 Ram OL is just about ready to place on the runway display.

Swing Reserve OT
prospects are large in numbers {Evans/ Jackson/ Arcuri/ Pircher} 2nd yr Alaric Jackson who was behind last season's Swing OT Noteboom (now starter) is sure to be the new top Swing OT.

Drafted Rookie AJ Arcuri has displayed versatility to get time in TC @ the OG posts & in preseason prove he can Swing between the OT posts as good or better than Jackson did last season. OT Arcuri has to be protected on the MR53 or he will be plundered.

Conclusion: Bobby Evans cut & Max Pircher remains on PS.

Swing Reserve OG
Prospects are few in numbers {Anchrum/ Brewer/ Snyder} Tremayne Anchrum who was on the IR for most of the 2021 season, has had this position since 2022 top draft selection Logan Bruss season-ending knee injury. I was not impressed with Anchrum's preseason play @ RG. Anchrum plays the LG post slightly better.

Chandler Brewer primarily lined up @ LG & played many more snaps in the preseason than Anchrum. Even though Brewer has some whiffs his play in the 3 preseason games was more effective than Anchrum.

Jack Snyder was the bright spot @ both OG posts & even saw a series @ center in the first preseason game. I have watched every snap (some up to 2 to 3 times) by this rookie & found him far more effective than any other OG who took snaps @ the OG positions in the preseason. Most do not agree with me.

Conclusion: Chandler Brewer time has come to an end & Jack Snyder(regrettably ) will be cut & will play on another NFL team.

Reserve Center
Jeremiah Kolone played about 97% of the preseason snaps @ center. His performance was mistake-free but has ZERO mobility to make a block outside of a yard. His blocking skills are weak & mostly non-effective.
Conclusion: Awarded an MR53 position by default.:angry4::angry:

Carberry's initial 2022 OL
OT- Havenstein/ Noteboom/ Jackson/ Arcuri
OG-Edwards/ Shelton/ Anchrum
OC-Allen/ Kolone

Quite frankly, I will be shocked if Snyder is claimed by another team. I would keep him over Kolone, but they might like Kolone's experience better. I concur with your assessment on both players, however, I believe they will keep Snyder on the practice squad and my hope is they find another swing G/T via trade or a waiver claim.

I think they go with eight and that the reserves are Jackson, Anchrum and Arcuri.

They've got one backup center on the line already.

Now, if there's any real concern about Shelton's knee.. I think they keep 9 OL with Kolone as the 9th.

Never say never,so will see what happens. Don’t think The Rams add another lineman? Then again they did claim Shelton a few seasons back that way from the likes of Arizona

When did he hurts his knee? I wonder if Kolone did enough to get claimed by another team? At this point we find out tomorrow basically? There is know reason I’m going to guess anymore.

I hope they keep ten offensive linemen on the 53-man roster. I know every year is different but didn't the Rams keep ten O-line (53-man roster)last year?

We’ll add Kolone,Max & Brewer to that list from the practice squad. In fact The Rams had to call Kolone from Sand Diego to come in & play backup center.
Add Demby is gone from the PS & not brought in for TC.

We all realize the Rams lost two starters from the SB team. Both of the open starting positions were replaced by their #6 & #7 2021 reserve OL'ers Shelton/Noteboom.

The Rams have the same reserves OL'ers Evans/Anchrum/Jackson..... all three were on the 2021 Roster last season, however, the Rams are current down 2 MR53 OL positions from last season. It should be said that both Noteboom & Anchrum had significant IR events last season.

Does anyone have any ideas on who will be the replacement for Carberry's 2021 Coleman Shelton position as the Swing OC/OG?

The same question can be asked on who will replace the Swing OT 2021 Joe Noteboom position. Bobby Evans? Alaric Jackson?

I've seen some comments by a few members who believe the Rams will be okay with this current 8 OL'ers.

Are there differing thoughts out there on the Ram's 2022 OL unit having been improved or enhanced? Or is this OL now considered less endowed or significantly lower in power & strength? What about the number of Ol'ers?:bueller:

I think A Jackson would sub for Noteboom, Anchrum for RG, LG, C though Shelton would move to C if Allen goes down, and Evans to RT in backup situation. I don;t like Evans making the team, but I understand Carberry thinking. Evans knows the blocking schemes, has experience and the other starters have playing time with him. I also believe Anchrum will be starting at RG before long. I don't believe Shelton is big enough to hold off some of the bigger DT's he going to be facing.

Yes I am worried about this. Also worried to a lesser extent with Boom. Hopefully both kill it and we end up with an epic passing game but I expect we are going to have the shittiest run game on the planet. Which is not the worst thing but it's not ideal either.

Hopefully they run for 120 or more vs Buffalo in the opener though and I look like a dumbass for thinking this. Would not be the first time that unit outperformed my low expectations. :laugh4:

I'm with you there. I hope the offensive line overachieves and we demolish Buffalo. It'd be a big boost of confidence for that unit and possibly the momentum needed to get the ball rolling on an excellent season.

That is funny - yes you have almost always doubted the O’Line.

Just to try to look on the bright side of it. During training camp Noteboom & Havenstien looked excellent. Both players have looked smooth in pass pro.
Big Rob has taken ownership of this group & he looks better than he EVER has to start a NFL season.
BubbaRam says if anyone call David Edwards that he is the weak link. I’ll hold my concerns to myself. What I do know is he is a big guy who has started fro The Rams at guard for 4 seasons.
Brian Allen was a All-Pro Alternate last season & Shelton showed toughness.

At RB I think Williams,Akers, & or HENDO can take it to The House at anytime. Sony was never that guy & Funk is sort of just a special teams guy.

—We have not had a good look at the RB’s this year in camp. I did see improvement on Lives, but didn’t see enough & those guys all had soft tissue or nagging flare ups? Either way ?

Sony getting cut, never being a TD from line of scrimmage guy. IMO if you look at his run production, can’t see The Rams being all that bad running the ball.

I agree with you on Jackson's role. Ancrum is the swing relief OG. Evans will be the 6th OL'er when the season begins. Neither Jackson nor Anchrum is very effective @ RG. After this past preseason, I do not see any of the reserve OL'ers beating Shelton to the bench.

I need to recall Snead/McVay have had under 300lbs RG's starting before but it's new for Carberry.

Former Rams Ol'er Austin Blythe was 6-2/298 when he started for us @ both OG & OC for 53 games & in the 2019 SB, signed with the Seahawks this season & is designated as their starting center. There is about 6 pounds difference between Corbett & Shelton, the same height.

I was highly impressed with Coleman Shelton in his relief performances last season. I am positive about him & truly believe he will work out just fine. I love the way he hits his targets on run blocking which is my biggest concern for this OL. Another reason I am so positive about him is that he is a true INTERIOR OL'er, not an OT playing OG.

My Thoughts on LT Joesph Noteboom's skills are even better than Shelton, but I am concerned about his frequency ref. too many IR events in just 4 seasons. Last season he managed to make e Injured Reserve list twice. I was not happy with our 3 reserve OL'ers preseason performances.:sur::yawn:

Damn right I'm worried. Another season where Bobby Evans is only an injured player away from possibly starting ?
Right after Bruss went down I said it's time for a trade, I'll say it again, although not likely until we've filled our Practice Squad in a day or two.
Stay in shape Whitworth !
