PREDICT THE SCORE - WEEK 14
Big bounce-back this week...
Carson back to MVP Carson. Alshon finally has his "so that's why he got $13mil per" game. Gurley gets stifled by our D. And the Birds quiet all the Chicken Littles within the fan base that crawled out from under their rocks this week.
Eagles 34-23 in convincing fashion.
---------
I’d like to play this week but I don’t know how to tell these two teams apart.

Eagles are now underdogs against the Rams after opening as favorites
Don’t sleep on the Birds
By Brandon Lee Gowton
For the first time since Week 6, the
Philadelphia Eagles are not favored to win their upcoming football game.
The Eagles originally opened as 2.5 point favorites over the
Rams in Los Angeles. The line has since swung to the
Rams being favored by 2.5 points.
This sudden change tells us that a lot of people have been putting money on the Rams.
People have seemingly lost faith in the Eagles after Philadelphia lost to the
Seahawks on Sunday night. The
Eagles opened as 5.5 point favorites against Seattle. That number crept up to as high as six at one point before dropping down to 3.5 before the game. The drop can be explained by a lot of the “smart money” being placed on the Seahawks. They clearly call it smart money for a reason.
There’s still plenty of time for the Eagles-Rams line to change prior to Sunday’s game. For now, it’s not a shocker to see the Eagles as underdogs. The Rams are a very good team.
Los Angeles ranks No. 1 in DVOA and No. 1 in points per game (tied with Philly). Rams rookie head coach Sean McVay is arguably the favorite for Coach of the Year. Jared Goff looks much improved in Year 2 and running back
Todd Gurley is a beast. On defense, Wade Phillips is still one of the league’s best d-coordinators. Defensive tackle
Aaron Donald is arguably the best defender in the NFL; he can wreak havoc.
But the Eagles shouldn’t be so easily dismissed just because they suffered a loss in Seattle. Philadelphia still has a lot of things going for them.
Carson Wentz is bound to bounce back after playing one of his worst games this season. Same for head coach Doug Pederson, who’s mostly done a very good job this year. Goff won’t be able to neutralize the Eagles’ defensive line the way
Russell Wilson can.
Sunday’s matchup figures to be a good one. It’s a very important game for both sides.

2.5 pt favs? That just plain ole stupid. Ain't no way.
Unless that 2.5 pts can be explained away as home field advantage. Then perhaps so.
--------
I feel like these two are pretty evenly matched, so 2.5 points to the home team seems pretty reasonable to me.

Woods and Barwin injured.

Defensive strategy
I think you have to treat this as you are playing the 2016 Dallas Cowboys. You stop the run first and make them one dimensional. This is easier said than done, but I think this has to be the starting point to beating the Rams.
--------
If we lose back to back games against contenders then all hell will break lose, no doubt. People will be calling for Doug’s head, for not being able to make a deep march. We’re 10-2 and a really good team who plays really well against bad teams. Win and all is calm, lose and stay back and watch madness ensue.
---------
If we lose on Sunday, it could very well be the ONLY time in league history that a fanbase throws a hissy fit over a 13-win team.
Gotta love it.
---------
I hope this team wakes the fuck up and takes on the mentality of " We ain’t shit" because all this dancing and shit is fun but it also puts a target on your back so they better back it the fuck up next time they wanna do some club dance moves on the fucking field ,
This type of shit pissed me off about the 2015 panthers , they were dancing all over the place when they were winning but as soon as they got smacked in the mouth they looked like morons and got laughed at , that’s how I felt about last game and thank god it didn’t happen in the playoffs and thank god they didn’t win out and get to the playoffs without facing adversity , this is the perfect opportunity to see what this team is made of , they got smacked in the mouth last week on prime time , now let’s see if they come out angry
---------
This will be a dog fight and it’s time for the Eagles to turn into the pit bulls, and mop up the greyhounds, the game will be won in the trenches and will the pit bulls show up on Sunday, what does it say when Eagles fans out number the LA fans?
----------
Eagles traded for Darby, but he has been out most of the season. The other guys have all played better than expectations. Jalen Mills would be a legitimately good corner if he wasn’t so slow, but other than getting toasted on the occasional deep ball he’s been excellent. Patrick Robinson is reviving his career as an effective slot corner after a horrendous training camp. And rookie mid round pick Rasul Douglas has played well when needed.
I wouldn’t characterize the Eagles secondary as ‘good’ overall, but they’re good enough not to be a liability. Against a slippery quarterback like Russell Wilson they’ll get victimized (I fear what Aaron Rodgers would do to us), but that will happen to a lot of teams.
----------
The secondary has been way better than expected, but the real strength of the D is on the line
With the exception of the last game, the DL has essentially shut down the run game and then pressured the crap out of the QB so he has to get rid of the ball almost immediately. So it’s hard to know how much of the secondary’s success has been because they’re legitimately better than we thought and how much is because the big guys in front of them are just wrecking the opposing gameplan.
The real answer is likely a combination of the two, but the only way we’ll figure out which way it leans is if a team can slow down the DL and force the secondary to cover for a little longer.
With that said, I don’t know much at all about the Rams OL, but I think they’ll be the key to this game. If they can keep Goff on his feet and give him more than a second or two in the pocket the Eagles D could be in for a loooong afternoon. If they can’t, it’s probably game over.
----------
The secondary success is solely based on our pass rush, without them getting home they were sorely exposed last week. It’s a lot easier to play defense when you’re up a ton as well
--------
I just feel a huge bounce back game for Carson and Co. What I love about our QB, amongst many things, is his short term memory combined with his incredible study habits. No one was more disappointed and criticized themselves more than Carson after Seattle.
The gameplan should feature the run game for sure. But don’t be surprised when we hit on play action deep 3-4 times this week. Even with the run game possibly winning the day, I still expect Carson to throw for over 300 with 3 TD’s.
----------
I think the Eagles win this one but...
The Rams are overrated just like the Eagles. The reality is that both teams are mediocre and neither could go toe to toe against the Seahawks, Packers, Saints or Patriots in the playoffs. I think the Seahawks win the NFC and the Patriots win the AFC.

I CANT WAIT TILL WE BLOW JARED GOFF UP WITH THAT D LINE!!!!!!
