This is a general comment about Moderation here, which I appreciate. If you want to see a site taken over by horrific trolls, go to spikedkoolaide.com It's mostly an NFC West troll fest, composed of primarily Seahawk, 49ers, and the site is owned by a Cardinals fan. There was maybe 3-4 Rams fans that came in there, of which I was one. Let me list what happened there:
1. Various x rated sex acts, and excrement pics.
2. Baiting, trolling is taken to an "art form" there. One guy was stupid enough to take a pic of a blacked out real personal biz card, and a couple of guys were able to figure out his real name and address. His real pictures from his facebook page were posted, and of course his real name.
3. Politics are discussed, and if you happen to not be an outright socialist/anarchist/nihilist , you are unmercifully called out and dogged with the intent of driving you out.
4. There is much more...

I stayed waaaay too long because I'm stubborn and do have some carefully honed trolling skills over the course of years as a defense mechanism. I also am a proponent of free speech and so can tolerate one he.ll of a lot of stuff I don't agree with. Nihilism and outright psychopathic tendencies actually is what drove me away, and I haven't looked back. Free speech is a great thing, but this is a club with rules at ROD. We choose to post here, knowing the rules and are therefore bound by them.....and no, the MODS did not pay me to say this...lol

@JK1965 It’s always great to see fans from other teams joining in on intelligent and informative conversation especially from the upcoming opponent. I’m guessing you were either born in 65 or you’ve been an Eagles fan since 65 either way I’m curious if you lived or live in Philadelphia? If you have, do you have any insight or recollection of the Vince Papale story (other than seeing the movie)? Always loved that story and never have gotten a chance to speak to someone who actually lived through it, plus I’m a huge fan of Dick Vermeil even before he took our RAMS to the promise land. Good luck Sunday!

Yes I was born in 65. My dad sat me in front of tv for the games long before I had a clue. At around 5 which was 1970 I was more cognizant of the game and pretty quickly learned the basics. The Eagles had white helmets with very plain green wings. They were pitiful. Rick Arrington, Pete Liske.... anyone remember those QB’s? Didn’t think so!
The first sign of hope was getting Roman Gabriel from the Rams in 73. They went from awful to average at best.
Vermeil was the guy who turned it around I certainly do remember Papale! He was a fan favorite for obvious reasons. He wasn’t the most talented but he always played like his life depended on it. The movie embellished certain things. He lived in the suburbs for example. He also looked nothing like Walberg. He was very Italian looking in a way that made you think South Philly. He went on to be a sports anchor on the local CBS affiliate for many years. He’s a nice guy. Talked to him at a game some years ago at the Vet.
Yes I lived 47 of my 52 years a couple miles north of Philly. It was a great place to grow up and live. I’m now about 2 hours southwest of Philly in York Pa.
I rooted for Rams when Vermiel was there. The Eagles weren’t very good that year so it was just fun seeing them and him have the success.

Thanks for the reply. Great stories, thanks for sharing. Somehow the Eagles and RAMS have some type of connection with the Gabriel, Jaworski, Vermeil doings. It’s pretty cool that you got to meet Vince.

I know theres at least a few ROD members that arent to far away, wont mention names. But I think I visited with a few at TC. And I'm pretty sure for a few beers they just might do anything to give our Rams a little help.
Nah, I think the Rams will win fair and square.

Let's not forget Harold Jackson.....awesome Rams receiver. Did we get him in trade for Gabriel???

Oh yeah, forgot about Jackson. Yes we did, he went from the RAMS to the Eagles and then back to the RAMS for Gabriel. Great player.

Lol. Out of morbid curiosity I went there to see what you were talking about. Since they referred to the Rams as the St Louis Rams, i elected to not dig much further....

These fans sound like they root for a constant winner .

They have not been good since McNabb left.

They played a weak schedule to start the year and seatle exposed them.

I think alot of their fans are in for a surprise, seatle was winning the line of scrimmage and in my opinion our D front is alot better.

They are weak in the secondary and I can't wait for Watkins and kupp to touch these clowns .

Go Rams!

After reading through this thread, now I understand why this gif is here.

It only takes a spark to start a fire. There's a fine line between freedom of speech and total chaos, which is why moderating a site like this can get tricky at times. The best moderation is done by the members themselves. Much respect to all of you who have the best intentions in mind for ROD. (y)

Local radio seems a little mixed. More feel Eagles will win but, many are worried about the possibility of losing. Expectations have been high for a month or so. The Hags game has them back to some doubt. I don't think either fan base is totally confident about this game.

What's all this crap about both fan bases not being totally confident? You're doing it wrong man. You're supposed to scour the internet for posts by random douchebag Eagles fans about how they're going to stomp us so that we can raise hell about not getting any respect. Get with the program!

And, if I may add, I want Wentz to throw, a couple of passes like the "Sure Touch-Downs" he missed against the Hag's! they will be sure "Pick 6's for our "D"!!

Zach Ertz remains in concussion protocol

Eagles tight end Zach Ertz remains in the concussion protocol after leaving last Sunday’s game in the third quarter.

Coach Doug Pederson said on Wednesday that Ertz has progressed enough to attend team meetings, but that he’s not cleared for any practice work at this point.

“The sense is that he’s doing well,” Pederson said. “He’s doing well. But again, I don’t want to get into too many details about it. But he’s still in the protocol and we just have to monitor him day-by-day.”

Ertz missed a game earlier this year with a hamstring injury and had a concussion last season. Trey Burton and Brent Celek would be the team’s tight ends if he’s not able to play against the Rams this weekend.

It's one of the reasons deep and complete teams usually fare well. The physical grind of the NFL is hard to say consistent every week, it's such a game to game, up and down league. But when you're deep you can rely on multiple players and parts of your team to carry you when certain other areas aren't clicking. We don't rely on any one thing to win games every week. We can beat teams in so many ways.
That guy is talking about the Rams, right? ;)

Also the 1960 connection. Norm VanBrocklin came over from the Rams. He was one of the games best QB’s back in the late 40’s through the 50’s. In 60 he was league MVP and led Eagles to the championship.
