This is the Rams future home. You’re just squatting.

Stack the box I don’t believe their WR corps along with Goff can beat our secondary. Contain Cooks big plays & we have a shot.

Chargers vs. Rams Pre-Game Party Thread
I know Week 2 isn't officially over yet, but I'm pretty sure the Chargers coaches have been game planning the moment they got on the spaceship back to L.A.
The Rams Defense have given up the 5th fewest yards coming into Week 3, for a total of 532. The Chargers Defense have given up 655 total yards, which sees them serving up the 10th fewest yards overall. Part of that was due to the Mahomes invasion into StubHub. Something they -- and it seems like the Steelers -- weren't expecting.
Ndamukong Suh, Aaron Donald, Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib. And you have Wade Phillips calling the shots on D.
They're not going to be easy to score on.
Surprisingly, both Donald and Suh have not recorded a sack this season. Hopefully they're not saving their best for the Chargers O-line. We need Virgil Green a lot more this week on max protect. And we need to get Ekeler out more so that he's open on quick slants. One of the best ways to negate any kind of pass rush. And Ekeler is perfect for that.
On Offense, the Chargers have amassed more yards in 2 weeks than the Rams have. In doing so, they've actually slightly outrushed the Rams (by 2 yards; thanks, Ekkie!) and have passed for almost 100 yards more than the Rams have. The Chargers O are ranked 3d overall on offense, while the Rams are ranked 7,.
On offense, Goff has been getting enough time in the pocket to spread the ball around to Cooks, Kupp, and Cooper. Cooks is a speedy WR and, even before seeing Tyreek Hill torch us Week 1, I've never felt like we defended both mobile QBs and speedy WRs well.
Random Thoughts:
It'll be interesting to see where we line Derwin James up the most (he's lining up everywhere). He's excelled playing in the box, but also has developed a nose for the ball. if we let him roam as a FS, does that help negate the deep ball as a threat? I saw Cooks open deep on a few plays against the Cards. Kyzir White and Nwosu can still blitz or provide pressure up the middle as well. White, especially so, moves well from side-to-side.
As far as I'm concerned, the real pre-season for guys like Nwosu, White, Derwin, and Justin Jones were Games 1 and 2 of the season so far.
Gurley's going to get his yards.
Will our goal line Defense hold the Rams to field goals?
The Rams are going to Sam Ficken again on FGs, but they converted all of their 2 pt attempts yesterday (3 for 3), and might not even need him.
If the Chargers lose, we can at least look at this game as a measuring stick for where we need to be if we need to get to the playoffs. If we lose, I hope we make it a game for 4 full quarters.
We still have Liuget and (hopefully) Bosa returning in October. And maybe Henry later in the season.
Week 2 isn't officially over yet, but I can't wait for Sunday.
------------------------
The home team has won the last 7 games of the Chargers vs Rams series.
------------------
The Rams appear to be one of the better teams, I'm curious to see this game, I think we've got a chance but have to play a pretty clean game and can't expect to win if too many mistakes, miscues are made.
A great measuring stick to see where this team is at, could be the game of the week, would be a hot ticket if L.A. had more Chargers fans, so I call it a warm ticket.

As much as I'm down on Benjamin, if he can catch balls thrown his way, either he or Mike Dubs would be the perfect decoy for the other. Because they're receiving styles are so different, they're essentially the perfect compliment.
I can see Keenan extending drives for us and being clutch on 3d downs. But in wide open space, if we can get Benjamin open and spray some Stic*** on his hands, we could be going toe-to-toe with the Rams.
Ekeler is going to be key. He's been solid in the past 2 games, and the Rams haven't seen anything like him this year.
--------------
The Chargers have talent overall and some weapons on O, our WR's need to help Philip out by catching the catchable balls, I look forward to Peters vs. Keenan a fun matchup to watch if he's on Keenan.
I don't know about all the diff matchups between the 2 teams, I think it'll come down to that and who plays a cleaner game with the fewest mistakes including turnovers.
---------------
Honestly, I'd rather not throw any long balls at all, especially at "Butterfingers" Benji. Let's go short and medium passes, along with feeding the rock to Gordon and Ekkie...ball control...maximize time of posession...tire out the Ram D...
-------------
Same deal as when we beat the Seahawks that year, I think coming off SB win.
Keep their D on the field. Win the TOP. Try and play the cleaner game. Tire them out.
They are similar teams.
------------
Exactly. Easier said than done of course, especially with Gurley and his ability to extend their drives.
-------------
Control the ball and keep the Rams defense on the field. They're star studded, but they lack depth. Tire them out via sustained drives and no turnovers. On the other side of the ball stop Gurley and make the Rams 1 dimensional. These are two good teams and I expect a close games. Turnovers, penalties, and special teams will likely be the deciding factor.
--------------
We've drafted well the last three years. Half of our team is build directly through the draft. We have some free agents unlike the Rams who have proceeded to buy an all pro team: picking up Brandin Cooks, Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib, Ndamukong Suh and Andrew Whitworth...an all star line up on tour to a city near you.
How will we match up against these guys? Can Lynn and staff take on the sophisticated scripted plays of Sean McVay? His debut as a HC had him calling plays for a team that average 33 points a game. Made the playoffs before losing to the Falcons. This team will be tough to stop.
