If you look at teams who could use a quarterback the landing spots are iffy. New Orleans woulda been the best spot if Asshole Face didn't retire. He's a good offensive mind with some weapons.

Garoppolo will need a coach with a really good system and offensive mind. I don't see one out there that needs a quarterback. Maybe Tampa now that Brady has retired? Although Arians wasn't great before Brady so I'd be apprehensive there.

After his last throw in the NFCCG I doubt anyone offers more than a second for Garoppolo. Maybe not even that. I suppose his expiring contract could be enticing for a rebuilding team. But going to a legit contender? Chances are they already have their guy and they ain't giving up a high pick for a backup.

I feel like I'm the only guy who doesn't blame him at all for that last throw. It would have been 4th and forever anyway, he'd escaped sack after sack (still never got him once), and threw a spiral backhanded while falling down. I blame the receiver for not knocking it down or catching it and picking up a few yards.

This wasn't like Kyler Murray's (or even Matthew Stafford's) ill-advised picks. This wasn't the first quarter. They had one TO left late in the 4th and had to get into FG range.

I'm not the biggest Garappolo fan, but he was playing magician against our pressure all day and I was pissed we didn't get him to throw 5 ints...

Hate to hear this.

https://ca.yahoo.com/news/49ers-fan-coma-apparent-beating-030940955.html

Police are investigating the apparent beating of a San Francisco 49ers fan found severely injured in the parking lot of SoFi Stadium during Sunday’s NFC championship game against the Rams.

Daniel Luna, a restaurant owner from Oakland, remains hospitalized at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in what Inglewood police said was a medically induced coma.

Luna, 40, was discovered on the ground by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics in the stadium’s Lot L about 4 p.m., half an hour into the Rams-49ers contest, said Inglewood Police Lt. Geoffrey Meeks. Luna was wearing a San Francisco jersey and black pants, Meeks said.

Emergency room staff at Harbor-UCLA noted wounds suggesting Luna had been attacked and contacted Inglewood police later that night.

“They believe he suffered from an assault at the stadium to his upper body and facial area,” Meeks said. Detectives are working with stadium officials to determine what happened to Luna, he said.

“We are relying heavily on video to try to identify the people involved,” he said. “We are going to leave no stone unturned.”

More than 70,000 people were on hand Sunday to see the Rams best the 49ers 20-17 to advance to the Super Bowl, which SoFi Stadium will host Feb. 13. So many San Francisco fans were expected that the wives of some L.A. players campaigned on social media to give away tickets to Rams supporters.

A spokeswoman for the stadium declined to comment on Luna's case, citing the police investigation.

Luna grew up in the Bay Area and owns a Peruvian fusion restaurant, Mistura, on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, according to published reports about the restaurant. Its website Wednesday indicated it was temporarily closed. Luna’s wife was at the hospital with him and, she said in a brief phone call, too upset to speak.

Luna flew to L.A. and attended the game alone after other fans who were to accompany him canceled, said Vernon Hill, a friend from Oakland who is in touch with his family. He said Luna usually chronicled his outings in photos and shared them with friends and relatives, but they did not receive the usual pictures Sunday night.

He said that Luna still had his watch, wallet and phone when taken to the hospital, suggesting robbery was not a motive. Police said they could not confirm those details.

“I don’t want this to happen to anyone else,” Hill said. “They are having the Super Bowl there.”

The circumstances of Luna’s injuries shared some similarities with one of the darkest days in L.A. sports history, the brutal 2011 beating of San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow in the Dodger Stadium parking lot. Two men were convicted in the attack that left Stow, a paramedic, with brain damage.

Meeks said that thus far in the investigation, “we have not come across any information” suggesting Luna was targeted for being a 49ers fan.

I don't think Jimmy's got enough arm for Arians' offense. Brady barely does as it is but Jimmy's arm is even weaker. If Jimmy starts putting up rainbow shots safeties gonna feast. But I would like to see Tampa go get him. :laugh2:

If I'm his agent I'm looking for a place with a strong run game and a staff willing to adjust the offense to his limitations. Maybe Pittsburgh since they just need a guy to hold it down while they find their QB. New Orleans is an option too, they dealt with a weaker armed QB for a long time with Brees.

Jimmy may need to do a year or two as a backup because he's not really good enough for some of these bottom feeder teams to dump their shitty QB for him.

I had to browse the 400 plus pages on their gameday forum. They went from over confident and cocky before the game. To anxiety in the first half. To excitement in the 3rd quarter. To making Superbowl party plans early in the 4th. Back to anxiety. Then getting pissed. And finally total deflation at the end. Loved every comment. The end made it glorious. Their tears are so delicious. :laugh4:

This is pretty much how I saw it also. If Jimmy G takes a sack there it would have been about 4th and 20 with approx 60 seconds left. He was hoping his back would at least catch it and get a few yards. Even as you say, knock it down and try again on 4th down.
Really he about out of options and if he takes a sack there with no time outs left he's about outta time too.

Basically, Jimmy is going to be the QB equivalent of the girl some dude dates just to get laid regularly until someone he really wants comes along.

Yeah I feel for Rhule. He's been trying to get himself a QB, they were in the Stafford sweepstakes just were up against the Rams who would stop at nothing for what they want. I like the guy as a HC but you don't have a lot of time to fuck around in the NFL. You better have that QB quickly so that clock can run while he's learning.

He's probably gonna time out before he finds a QB.

den,
Funny you should mention Carolina. I was thinking about this the other day and figured if Jimmy G signed on and if they could ever keep Christian McCaffrey healthy he could really thrive there.
Add some OL help and another wideout to pair with DJ Moore and with Brady outta Tampa who knows what could happen.
The NFC South looks wide open at this point.

That place is fucking toxic - literally the antithesis of ROD. Make an insightful comment and they will smack you down. I felt dumber by the minute reading their vacuous, trill and frankly hubristic posts. Go Fuck Yourselves 69ers!

Yeah .. that's what I've been saying. Funny thing is, you can't convince 49er fans of that. To them, he should have thrown it out of bounds and then they had a real chance. :laugh4:
