It's not even an argument whether Sam is better than Mannion. It's only a money and health question.

That said, I do admit I wonder whether the other players laugh at Sam in the huddle. No matter his stats he's not a guy who inspires confidence in players around him. BUT he's better than Mannion.

I know this is likely an unpopular opinion
Yup... for the most part, it is.

his days as an effective QB in the NFL are over.
I believe this.

We've paid Sam enough money already and call me superstitious, but I don't want him in the same room as Goff.
Funny... but I'd STILL err on the side of caution... keep Bradford away from Goff!!!:eek:

I'm just not bitter towards Sam.
I'm not bitter... but I cringe when we try to re-hash old throw-aways. Leave him alone... let him retire.

Medically, he's toast.
Yup.

No, BAD IDEA!!!
Yup.

Still...the Rams don't need him...and we know he's not durable.
They don't (need him)... he'd get in about two games, go down and you wasted a roster spot.

Sam really better than Mannion? Watched him this year and it sure didn't look like he was any better.
The current Bradford? I agree... not so sure he's any better than Mannion. At least Mannion can run for his life if needed. Those that think Goff has tons of time and rarely gets hit are not being realistic. Bradford wouldn't last two games.

He just doesn't seem to have "it"
He's never had "it". That fire... Goff has it... Brees has it... you can see it in Mahomes tonight. Fire. Bradford? His "it" is... my check, as in is 'it" ready yet?

He was benched for poor performance and the season was put in Rosen’s hands
But he's better than Mannion... I don't believe that.

Was it Sam or was it the team?
It was the team... Bradford just needs to be left alone in retirement... a very comfortable retirement (not faulting him in the least... good for him and his agent).

I think Sam might jump at the chance for a super bowl ring. If the numbers are right, say around $64,999,999? Yeah, I'd go for it. And uh... He pays us.

Do we know if he's interested in playing?

If so, I guess he can be the Rams' elite-scrub-backup, no?

He's better than Christian Hackenberg -- I hope that doesn't upset the CH fans out there.

I always forget Bradford is part Native American.

It would be kind of ironic for the Rams to end up having Suh and Bradford after they ended up being drafted one two in the same draft.

Personally, I'd pass on Sam.

Did this thread break Jared Goff?

His last good outing was 11.19

Still, the point of the thread is as sound as ever.

After that loss I didn't think I could get more down about the Rams.

Then this.

I was wrong.

I always forget Bradford is part Native American.

I know this is likely an unpopular opinion, but how many of us feel comfortable with our backup QBs? Offer him a NFL minimum contract. He might accept it because he wants an opportunity to be part of a contender. Bradford is far from perfect, but if disaster happens, I feel more comfortable with him under center than Mannion and Allen. Yes I know he struggled this year, but the Cardinals were a disaster. I think McVay could get competent enough play out of him if necessary.

I also agree.
Vet Minimum.....

Hey! Let’s keep bumping this thread to the top of the page!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to pluck my eyes out with fuzzy colored toothpicks and serve them to some dinner guests.

@jrry32 as much as I respect your football and draft knowledge, I really am confused by this sign Bradford "campaign" you have going.

Bradford is done, he has no competitive football left in him. 1 good hit and he will be looking at major surgery, Steve Austin style ( not the wrestler either). He sure as hell cant scramble, and he has little or no confidence left in him.

Let it go man, just let it go

What campaign? Somebody bumped a post I made a month ago. I didn't bring it back up. But I still stand by what I said.

Well, defenses are forcing the Rams to settle for check-downs, and Bradford was good at that...

It was the team. But the point is that if you give Sam that good of a team, he can still produce well. Our team is that good.

I agree, if the Rams were protecting the QB now as they did until the past 3 games...The way the protection has seemingly gone awol, I don't think Sam would make it through one full game...No blue font here, I'm serious...

I actually dont hate this idea. But like Goff, he's only good if he has time and no rushers hitting him. As we've seen lately, we can't provide that luxury. The difference, Bradford is made of glass if he was behind this line
