Skill-wise, he'd still be one of the top backups in the league.

Medically, he's toast.

I'm just not bitter towards Sam. Him being a backup here for 5 regular season games and the playoffs won't have him in my mind. And if he is in my mind, it's because Goff is hurt. If that happens, I'd rather have him in my mind than Mannion.

The probability he performs better than Mannion is valid, I might give you that but we really don't know. Our season is over if Goff goes down, so I'd rather our focus be on drafting or signing a viable backup for next year. Mannion knows McVays system, so I'd have more confidence with him going out over Mr. Glass.

I don't think our season is over. The Eagles won a SB last year with Foles. But with Mannion, I don't see us being able to pull it off. With Sam, it's possible. It's unlikely, though.

I always liked Sam, but I am sure somebody will pay him more than the vet minimum, and I fear he might not have all that much left in the tank. Not the mention the health concerns. I'd rather looks elsewhere, but do agree I would have more confidence in him than Mannion.

Honestly I think I just have PTSD from that whole Bradford/Fisher era. I've tried to file that deep inside my brain and never think about it. Fucking @jrry32 trying to bring the demons out of me.

No, BAD IDEA!!! Even though Bradford can still play...if this team does anything it should be to help the LBs corps!!!

I'm down with this is Bradford agrees to play for vet min.

Then I could wear my autographed jersey again! :)

I know this is likely an unpopular opinion, but how many of us feel comfortable with our backup QBs? Offer him a NFL minimum contract. He might accept it because he wants an opportunity to be part of a contender. Bradford is far from perfect, but if disaster happens, I feel more comfortable with him under center than Mannion and Allen. Yes I know he struggled this year, but the Cardinals were a disaster. I think McVay could get competent enough play out of him if necessary.
I wouldn't mind it...but we hate Bradford, don't we? LETS DANCE!

I know this is likely an unpopular opinion,

You've always had a keen sense of the obvious LOL.

Sorry guys. I’d rather hire his agent for the job. Bradford is a good man, but his days as an effective QB in the NFL are over.

He was never an effective QB. Never.

I don't think our season is over. The Eagles won a SB last year with Foles.

The Eagles also had an amazing defense, plus Foles is a better QB than Bradford.

Even though Bradford can still play

"Can play" at what level?

There is NO WAY he could do what it takes to work this offense.

He can't play this type of ball.

He did it pretty good while at Phllly and Minny where he threw for 3725 and 3877 until he got hurt. They were up tempo offenses and Sam performed in them. Still...the Rams don't need him...and we know he's not durable.

Why would he sign here, when there are other teams where he could start even this season, Redskins need someone now, Bills would have signed him earlier this year, etc.

Thew way QB's are falling - and failing this year - he may get snapped up shortly. Unless of course - everyone that needs one, goes to the tank....

I’d imagine Sam would be on his way to Washington this week if he can pass a medical...

Understand the desire to upgrade our backup behind Goff but is Sam really better than Mannion? Watched him this year and it sure didn't look like he was any better.

No chance. He's certainly a more durable QB, though.

Yes, he's better than Mannion. That Arizona offense was a dumpster fire until McCoy got fired. Sam looked pretty good in Minnesota. Mannion hasn't looked good HERE with McVay.
