McSnead new strategy: “Fuck Them Kicks”. We don’t need no stinking’ kicker, punter or LS. Just always go for it on 4th down. I remember some years back where some high school team did that and mathematically it worked out in their favor.

Trigger warnings below:

Sam Sloman is a K for the Vegas Vipers

Lirim Hajrullahu is a K for the Philadelphia Stars

Sam Ficken is currently a free agent

And yes, ROD would implode if any of these guys came back

We're all missing Gay, not that there's anything wrong with that

The thought of just not having a kicker sooths my inner soul.

But those weirdos are a fucking necessary evil unfortunately.

So... we'll bring in one of those mental freaks and allow him to torture the entire Ramily.

Soon... everyone will realize that they should have believed me years ago.

Just 2 point plays and 4th down conversions. McVay setting another new trend

The funny part about this kicker situation is this board constantly lamenting we didn't resign Matt Gay. The same board that if he was a rookie for the Rams would have given up on him as a failed rookie.

They might be negotiating with Michael Badgley. He's a decent K and shouldn't be expensive. He just turned 28 so he's got tread on the tires. The problem with Badgley is he can be streaky at times.

The wildcard is Evans. He's actually been used in college though he's never had any real coaching in that regard. He went 10 of 18. Now consider how good he could be if he was actually coached up on his technique. That's why I say sign Robbie Gould who even at 40 is still the best FA kicker out there. Give him a bonus to coach up Evans. Ethan has a tremendous work ethic. One year under Gould is all he would need as he would continue on his own after that,

But I think they might bring back Christopher Dunn who they dismissed early on for some reason.

Fairly weak leg and 80% career FG kicker doesn't sound like a good kicker to me.

Didn't Ethan Evans do both kicks and punts? Maybe we'll have a QB as the holder?
I wonder if he's been doing place kicking in practice.

How cool would it be to have a guy able to do both successfully.

Brett Maher or Cade York...Most likely or maybe they will surprise us with someone else. Again, I would have made the deal with the Chargers for Hopkins and a 7th round pick in 2025.

Here is why I think it will be Brett Maher because he's the guy I don't want. Great leg, so he will always have the distance, but his accuracy can go south quickly as we watched on extra points for example. I would rather take my chances with York with hope the weather in Southern California is more to his liking then Northern Ohio.

no to maher. that train looks to have left the station and ain't coming back.

york could work but he missed a lot of kicks in preseason games. maybe the change of scenery will help him. seems to be a trend in the nfl, rookie kickers bombing with the team that drafts them then becoming clutch with their next team.

gay, koo, carlson, can't think of any other names, i'm sure there are others.

I’d prefer Robbie Gould if he came cheap enough. Both teams moved on from Mayer and York because they were not good enough.
