I expect the NFL to levy the longest suspension they can. For a couple reasons.

First because of the message this entire thing has sent, from the trade to the contract. The image problem on it is real in an age where the NFL wants to win over female fans.

But most importantly because nobody in the league likes Haslam. Standing in the rich boy club matters here. He's gonna feel this one, it's gonna be a gut punch.

I will be surprised if he’s not suspended a whole season.

Cleveland signed up for this. Crazy.

I'm so glad I picked the Rams and not the Browns when I was eight years old. While the Rams have had their lows, they've also had the highest of highs, while Cleveland has never had those highs and seems to bumble from one mistake to the next. And this one with Watson is huge. They are going to have to hang on to a disgruntle Mayfield for another year because of this. Unfreakinbelievable.

as long as there's no video of any incident he'll probably get 2 weeks. (ray rice reference).

Well it just got confusing of if paying for it,or getting extra counts ? Which way is legal & which way is not legal.

Watson must be a bigger shower guy in the Lockeroom. Robert Kraft could go visit the after show.Cleveland Browns must have thought its a site to see.could image Watson after being in the trainers room saying I feel good. Then give a little wiggle
after a good rub down.

Im not really worried about the Deseaun Watson suspension, to me that was a given for at least half a year.

The thing I absolutely love is the burned their bridge with Mayfield trying to okay their cards and now he isn’t going to play for them regardless it seems. They must have been asking a lot of compensation for him and figured either way they win since they’ll need him for a partial suspension of Watson! Lol

If I were mayfield I wouldn’t play for them I’d sit out tbh and get my body and mind right and wait for next offseason to get after it.

If he refused to play, wouldn't he lose his salary and an accrued season; and not become a free agent?

Sorry.. but this is way more than just a little smoke...

It's hard to prosecute that kind of stuff... but the civil stuff and how Watson handles that will play a role in his NFL future.

TWENTY-THREE women have complained that he sexually abused them. The NFL is getting a black eye from this, and he will be boo'd everywhere he goes, for a while at least. The NFL has to do something, and I think 1 year should be the minimum. I would bet half the fans in Cleveland wished they never signed him.
One of my best friends is a Browns fan, and she has indicated that she won't be following them while he's on the team. And she was someone who bought merch, so it will cost them money. Small amount for her cash, but I think there are a lot of folks like her.

This could have a long-term affect for their franchise, and anything short of a Super Bowl win in the next few years could absolutely screw the Browns.

If you can suspend Calvin Ridley for an entire season for betting 1500.00 on one game (not condoning that either as that's shitty to on a much much different level) then criminal charges or not this is a bit much. How many massages does one need especially when you have it all available through your own team let alone you didn't even practice like the entire year. The NFL might be in a pickle but I'm starting to think a year isn't even enough. In what occupation would this ever be welcomed or accepted criminal or civil just the mere insinuation would get one fired.

You can't go from promoting how women refs and coaches are being hired to just brushing off that "alledgedly" this many women were sexually assaulted or coerced into sexual acts. It sets shit back 30 years. This is a hell of a situation.

Then the Browns wtf it's clear you cared more about the skill set of the player than the allegations or how said allegations could hurt or make other woman feel in general but to hand the guy 230 million guaranteed is nuts the desperation far outweighed the situation.
There is no neat way to handle this and believe me I'm no kapernick fan but that dude right or wrong basically blacklisted for fighting for an actual cause again agree or disagree agree but this dude got 230 million for treating a bunch of women in this day and age like a common whore.

There is something so wacked about this world man it blows my mind daily!

This whole situation is pretty vile, how Watson somehow managed to get rewarded for getting into this situation is disgusting.

You don’t get massages from 66 different women in a 17 month period for therapy. You stick with a regime/masseuse that works. So he was obviously seeking massages for other reasons.
Clearly he couldnt find one who could do it correctly

Yeeeaaah, I'm glad we traded for Stafford and not Watson.

I think a year and a half is a fair suspension. This needs to be what Spygate should've been; this is a black eye for the NFL, and this sort of disgusting behavior towards women needs to be curtailed immediately.
