Boomer Esiasan is an arrogant dope. Says Rams should not be going to Superbowl. Yeah, Saints didn't have any other chances to win it. He will cry about this forever.

I wonder how Eli Apple feels after taunting McVay in the 1st half. I wonder if McVay gave him a wink as he walked by him.

In a game that was clearly officiated from the get-go as "let them play"....it was the worst non-call of the game.

I respect the lack of flags and referee face time in a playoff game. I wish the regular season was more similar.

In the age where you can't touch an NFL QB they didn't throw a flag on the Goff face mask. The refs also made a couple transparent make up calls today.

NFL officiating is awful. I do believe they steer games and shift momentum with the holding and other judgement calls for the benefit of tv ratings and propping up superstars. I don't believe for a minute that the refs are fixing outcomes. They didn't today either.

The Rams took the Saints best shot all game long and overcame an extremely hostile environment as well.
Saints fans deserve to be pissed, but the thing is...poor officiating happens to everyone.

To be honest if folks want to dwell on it, fine go ahead. Takes nothing away from the performance of my Rams today. Easily the guttiest team performance i've ever seen from a Rams team anywhere in the last 40 years.

Not mention Goff's helmet going out again, like it did last game against them, and then going out on the huge 3rd down late in the game.

Nobody told Brees to throw an interception in OT when they had the ball first. They had every opportunity to overcome a bad call (like most teams do), but they weren't able to do it. So, cry me a river. After having been on the ass-end of some of that crap, I have no sympathy.

Or give up a 13 point lead to the playoffs' biggest question mark.

You are so right. Nobody told DB to throw that interception.

Anyone see Sean Peyton whining in his press conference?

Hey Sean, why not talk about your piss poor clock management that left the Rams with plenty of time and a timeout to go and tie the game.

Frankly, before the controversial play, it sure looked like Havenstein pushed CJ Andersen into the end zone for what would have been a a 4 point lead instead of a tie.

I feel for Saints fans but this game clearly demonstrated the referees decision to let the players play. I was fairly impressed with the first post-game interview of Payton where he was very restrained in his response to a question regarding the PI non-call. Then I just saw another interview where he was blaming the entire game on that call and actually stated the refs missed 2 calls on that play (PI and helmet to helmet). Something tells me we will be hearing a lot from Payton about how criminal the PI non-call was. He needs to look at the entire game and determine how you lose a home playoff game (where you challenged Saints fans to bring the noise every second the Rams offense was on the field including some BS fans blowing whistles the entire game) after going up 13-0. Starting with some questionable play calling by himself on the last drive in regulation. Maybe he should have put more time into preparing his team vs firing up the fans.

Saints had every chance to open up a commanding lead, all kinds of chances to stop the Rams, then every chance to win the game. All with the biggest home field advantage ever. Saints didn't get it done.

Rams had every chance to fold under pressure, give in to the crowd, accept losing. Instead they played incredibly tough football and won.

Payton is a graceless loser who can kiss my ass. Rams more than deserved to win the game and go to the Super Bowl.

When I first saw that play at game speed I thought it was a clean play. Then watching it in slow motion its clear it should be a penalty. I can understand why the refs didn't think it was interference at the time. At full game speed it looked a lot closer.

But these things happen all the time. Lord knows we've been on the short end of the stick plenty of times. This one will stand out because of the timing. If it happened in the first quarter it would be a non issue.

I saw at least two times the Saints had the ball when the play clock was at zero before the snap. One was near the goal line a play before they scored their first TD. I rewound it at the time and it was definitely at zero a full second before the snap.

Then there were the facemasks. How much would those calls affect the game if they called them correctly? Nothing is guaranteed. If they call the penalty and they kneel on it till the game clock is almost zero, how do we know if things transpired exactly the same at the time? The Rams likely woulda called the timeout to ice the kicker. The FG block team woulda had a little more time to plan. Who knows what woulda happened?

I can say we shoulda won in regulation if they called everything correctly. But that is subjective.

I'm pretty sure when Goff was grabbed by the facemask and subsequently went over, one of the Saints defenders jumped over Goff and stamped on him for good measure. Completely unnecessary, so freak the Saints.
They did that shit to Reynolds, Anderson, and Goff...that is no mistake, that is some dirty, coached shit. Seems as if it wasn't only Gregg Williams, big fucking surprise...not.

Nobody bringing up the free set of downs on that bull crap, Brocker's off-sides/encroachment call at the Rams 12 yd line in the 1st? Watch the replay. Brees clearly uses head, shoulders, and ass to simulate the snap. That's a 4th down false start my friends! But nooooooooo... it goes the other way giving the Saints a free set of downs and an eventual 7 points. Payton, and the rest of the Saints can shove it up their asses... they got plenty of calls. No sympathy whatsoever. And screw the apologists, here, and elsewhere!

Check it at about the 1:12 mark.

Of course the "Twitter World" is ablaze talking about the bad No-Call PI on Robey-Coleman. My take is that it was a bad no-call. But, there were a few missed no-calls that should have been called on the Saints. I can point out at least 2 missed face mask calls on our receivers, one guy stepping on Cooks head after a play, and a blatant delay of game by the Saints, in the red zone, late in the game. Bottom line is they had us on the ropes early, and could have put the game out of reach in the first half, but didn't. We continued to fight back in an extremely hostile environment and got the win. I feel the media will marginalize the win by focusing on this one play, and speak very little about the resiliency of this team. To all haters out there... THE RAMS ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!
23 - 3, by me, and my friend, who lives 300 miles away, live count. I missed some, probably both ways.

My own son, who is a Rams fan, gave me shit on the blatant call, but he was at work, so I asked him to watch the whole game with a critical eye. Hell, you don't even have to do that, because there were a lot of blatant calls. I can't believe, but I do believe, this is one of two times on this forum, where people are arguing the refs were FOR the Rams, they were not, not in this game. It was ONE call.

It's a hard one to them to swallow. I know what our reaction would've been if it had gone against us.

Well, there were several calls/no calls in that game that went against us. We overcame them and that’s the bottom line.

After all of the times we've been screwed, and the Saints' own NFC Championship being marred by Bountygate? Absolutely no sympathy or empathy for the Saints. Live by the sword, die by the sword, bitches.

Bottom line if Payton runs the ball 3 times there , the Rams would've had less the a minute to get in field goal position.
He got greedy and it cost him . If that play would've happened early in the game , no one would mention it .

I was saying the same thing at that very moment. That getting the ball back with a FG and time was the key for us there. Running the ball 3x and kicking a FG would have won the game but most media types aren't smart enough to understand that.

Non-calls on passing plays are a routine part of playoff history. Refs tend to swallow their whistles and you'll win some lose some. The media types just love to stir up clicks, and the Aints fans are mostly bandwagon whiners from all their seasons of winning. But just like happened to us in 2001 when the Pats DBs mugged our receivers and when the Pats filmed our walkthrough and the NFL burned the tapes: in a few years the only ones crying about it will be fans of the team who got the missed call.
