Actually it's the 5th and 6th string guards ... and no team carries six guards. Many don't carry five.

6 of the projected top-8 OL have missed multiple games.

Through seven games, the Rams have yet to start the same five OL in consecutive games.

There are a number of things not working well but no team has had that quantity of injuries to the O-Line ... no team is even close ... thus far in 2022.
I think it is 6th & 7th. There are 5 that played guard and were injured or in Jackson's case, moved to Tackle. Shelton, Bruss, Jackson, Edwards, & Anchrum.

I think we're in agreement with the basic point that the Rams' O-Line has been decimated.

See your point on Alaric Jackson but I was not counting him as a back-up guard. I think of him as the #3 OT that was forced to play guard when the top four projected guards were all out with injuries.

Never-the-less, 6th and 7th string guards sounds better ... So let's go with your view-point.

Buffalo draws a packed stadium every week and shows what home field advantage looks like.

The squatters get better crowds than the reigning world champs against their arch rivals.

This is a peripheral problem when compared to the poor game plan, execution and injuries. But, it’s a problem.
Yea, but also, nobody moves TO Buffalo. So almost all Football fans in Buffalo are bills fans. And there isn't much else to do there. Contrast that with a place like LA. First off, millions more transplants, that bring their fandom of another team with them.

Hendricks needs to be benched. He's another Peters-like glory hunter. More than once this season I've watched him break his coverage as he went with his inexperienced guesses. Sometimes he right and he's a hero, other times he's wrong like today on more than one occasion which is why Ramsey finally had to put him in his place. Hendricks isn't as good as he and the media think he is. Peters was like that and it cost the Rams games. Rochell is the far better option but he's not one of our DC's bros. This whole defense is becoming more and more undisciplined and it makes me sick to watch it. When Ramsey has to do stuff that is Morris' in terms of discipline then things are far more dysfunctional than we realize.

McVay needs to get a handle on it right now.

Evan's ineptitude was on full display. As I predicted the Niners were running stunts and both OG's were clueless, Evans more than Aboushi. Time to play Brewer at LG. He can't be any worse than Evans. The passing game died because the offense had to go max protect in the second half because the OL was a mess. Jackson was better than Evans and Aboushi but he had his issues as well. He's a year away from being a good player. People down-grade Noteboom but he was playing hurt which limited his mobility. He had to play because they really didn't have anyone to back him up with Jackson at RG.

The worst-case scenario is exactly what's been happening on the OL. If they can't fix it without playing max protect they aren't going to even make the wildcard.

The lack of a second edge was really telling. Lewis is not a starter. Hollins is needed as the WIL. If Snead can get Burns, or Chubb that would make a huge difference. Hell at this point I'd take Josh Allen. He isn't as good as the other two but he's better than Lewis and would make a difference.

I felt confident before the game, even moreso at the half.
Then the second half happened.
NFC championship aside, it always seems like we can beat them but they always seem to show more grit and determination.
We always make them look Super Bowl contenders whilst other teams handle them soundly.

And what 5 million?? 10 million living in SoCal now?

Plenty of excuses but, that’s all they are. The general population there just isn’t suited to being football fans. They can’t support one team let alone two.

Ima be honest and I hope I dont get flamed for this...

But from my perspective of the history of Rams...alot of people associate the Rams fanbase with old white guys. Reason being is that when the Rams left for Anaheim in the 80s, there was the perception (im not a cali native so speaking anecdotally) that Anaheim was the White Suburbs.

Contrast this with the Raiders, who became the poster child for the Black community (and the at time growing hispanic population) of Los Angeles and got a huge boost in popularity when they became the de facto sports team of NWA and the Los Angeles Hip Hop scene.

Why this matters is, upon relocation to Los Angeles (on top of LA already being contested battle space with different teams)...The fanbase (of older white men and their kids) who were the Rams primary fanbase, isnt the main demographic in LA anymore.

So on top of the overinflated ticket prices, the gentrification of Inglewood, the contested battlespace of LA as a NFL market, and the overall laissez-faire attitude of West Coast fandoms, youre dealing with a demographic that grew up Raiders, Cowboys, and Niners fans and at best saw the Rams as the "old white guy team" and at worst, the traitors who left for St. Louis. Thats why, even after a SB win, the Rams are IMO not as popular they should be.

I took a quick look.

Through seven games, ESPN has the Rams averaging 68 rushing yards per-game and 3.3 yards-per-rush.

Last year, the Rams averaged 99 rushing yards per-game and 4.0 yards-per-rush.

The 2021 numbers were not good but they were far better than thus far in 2022.
Better, but still not great and they sucked in the playoffs when everyone was healthy.

I know we are angry and can't focus well at least I speak for me but did Jackson play well or am I just grasping at straws. I did not hear his name mentioned once unless I completely shut down.
We are grasping at straws.. but he looked good to me.
Big picture? That's a big deal, imo.. because it means you can spend resources in other places.

The question after today is... where the fuck do we even start?

Yeah I went into the season thinking that it was going to be hard to be worse in the running game than we were for most of last year…boy was I wrong!

I get checked for calling out players and coaches/scheme for the shitty play. I don't attack individuals on the board.
Yet posters can talk shit about LA fans and it's acceptable?? Mods need to be consistent and impartial.

Anyone bitching about the 9ers fans at SoFi needs to let it rest.
The crowd had ZERO to do with the outcome of the game.

LA is a hub for a million different activities.... If I had FREE tickets to a Rams game in GREEN BAY I wouldn't waste my time. But people go on vacations to come to so cal , hit the beach, Disneyland, the Rams game, etc.

Aside from that.... If I had free tickets to TODAYS game...it's doubtful I would have attended. This loss was inevitable. Maybe if the team didn't shit their pants every time they played these guys they wouldn't have to worry about opposing fans taking over Sofi. Blow these guys out both games next year and see if you don't start seeing more and more Rams fans

Oh.. bitching about the fanbase is fine.. I don't know if it affected the outcome.. but it absolutely is an indicator of a lame fanbase.

There are 18 million in the "greater Los Angeles area"... so, even though there are plenty of options.. there are still plenty of people who could easily be at that game.

They're not.

All that talk from McVay about looking forward to the challenge and playing for first place today. I'm tired of the lip service. Dude needs to shake things up. I hope he's feeling pressure from up top because this is LA. --- the stakes and expectations are different.

Lakers are playing terrible, but at least the games are fun. This Rams team is flat out fuckin boring.

I chose NOT to go the the game today. My presence was not going to affect the outcome whatsoever. I barely want to watch Rams/Niners games at the local bar just because it's fuckin humiliating watching the team get bent over year after year by these guys. I'm not spending $100 on a ticket, $100 for parking, $200 for drinks and food to watch the Rams grab their ankles all game. Fuck that

And that's so much of the Rams fanbase, in a nutshell.

I'm not any better! Just acknowledging.. it's a lame fanbase. If the NFC Championship game didn't tell you that, nothing will.

I was at the Falcons game this year and the Rams fans showed up and showed out. It was 85% blue from what I saw.

Not to mention there are tons of transplants out here. Moreso than almost any other city in the US. No one is transferring from LA to go work in Green Bay. We didn't have a team for YEARS.... So Cal residents became 9er, Cowboy and Raider fans

I've been a Rams fan since they were in LA the first time...and remained loyal the entire time. There are a shit ton of us here. Just can't afford to hit every game especially against 9ers, Cowboys, Raiders....because the prices get outrageous.
