He has a very legit reason to believe that Goff can win a big game when it matters. He's done it multiple times.
What reason exactly should he have to believe Stafford will?

Stats? Stats don't mean shit.
There's a reason my buddy texted me after the Stafford trade and said "Good luck with Stat Patford".

Dude, there were critical plays late in the game that they had AD....DROP BACK INTO FUCKING COVERAGE.

I couldn't believe it.

You are twisting yourself in knots to avoid blaming the defense.

They had Jimmy G backed up deep in his own territory with under 2 min to play and no time outs. Giving up that score was so much worse than anything Stafford or McVay did all night.

Deflating. Absolutely deflating.

This team severely lacks toughness at times.

Y'all can bitch about the Stafford pick in OT. But he hobbled his self around right before the end of the 4th Q on some absolute big dick throws, and put us up by a TD.

The Rams Defense let them drive what, 90 yards in a minute 30 with a 9 finger QB, to score and take it to OT. Stafford and the Rams were up 17-0, defense blew that lead too.

Blame Stafford all you want, but we scored enough and he should've ended the game with the game winning drive, but constant bullshit defense blew it.

We went from #1 in D to #16, even adding Von Miller mid season.

When push comes to shove, we ALWAYS get shoved. And that's 100% a mentality thing. Too much finesse and not enough power.

We severely need to take whatever money we have and draft capital and invest is some mean, maulers on the OL, and some mean, run stopping ILBs and DL.

ALSO, draft a FB.

Just absolutely deflating.

I said BOTH were why the team lost the game. Team loss. Period.

It's not rocket science.

If people want to be myopic and pretend the offense didn't tremendously underperform today, good for them.

Being a Southern Oregon type it would be easier to be a niners fan. But my heart won’t let me. I can’t stand that effin team. I hope we win a SB in LA for all of us, it would be so nice!

Yupp and let's all ignore that in the biggest moment of the game (OT) Jimmy g delivered and our guy didn't. Everything thar happened before that is mute.

the Rams won the division and are hosting a home playoff game.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills with the Goff stuff. This is unreal.

My section has been reliably Rams all season, but even today it was like 50/50 Niners (I've posted my seats elsehwere here before, you can undoubtedly get a pano shot from the game to see what it looked like today). I'll be putting my tickets for next week up for sale as soon as they process my pay as we play payment because this team isn't going anywhere this year. No DBs of quality other than Ramsey and Fuller.. and both of them had bad plays today... and Jones injured to deplete a weak ILB corps.

The offense underperformed today because the offensive line got its ass whooped. Not because Stafford was throwing pick 6s and going three and out.

Well first of all the word is moot. Not mute. And second of all, no one can take your analysis of the game seriously when you completely disregard 98% of the game.

And why doesn’t the D get any of the blame here?

Morris is McVay's hire.
This is the 6th time in a row the Niners have beaten the Rams.

This isn't about defending Morris, which I'm not, it's about figuring out why the Rams keep losing to the 9ers.

If your answer is "Morris", I'll just disagree and show my 4 previous losses in a row to make my case.
