Honest question..
What personnel DOES this team have to run on defense?
I would simply argue that they are fatally flawed, from a defensive standpoint, in the secondary and, with Jones injured, at ILB.

I don't see any scheme fixes.

People screaming at Morris for being soft.. but.. missed tackles? Blown assignments?

Just a team mentality thing, imo.
Yeah I actually thought Morris called a decent game. Not sure how you coach around softness like that. Did you see how many times we met them @ the LOS or behind it tonight? It was literally almost every play. Someone coming free and just missing the tackle.

People can blame Morris, Stafford, and McVay all they want. This game was lost in the trenches and piss poor tacking. End of story.

Again the LA fan base is a fucking embarrassment to real Ram fans.
There just aren't a lot of long term Ram fans, Rams have moved around and lost a lot. Be patient winning will bring them. You want new Ram fans that grow up with the team. Not 9er, cowboy, steeler etc that are just front runners and living off the past.

with everything that went wrong...

game should have been over when the 49ners got the ball back with 1:26 and no time outs.

Everything else everyone is hemming and hawing about really should have never mattered.

We had the game won and blew it right there.

Was Goff really that much worse than Staff?
Depends on the Goff. 2020 Goff? Yes. But we went all in on the Super Bowl with Stafford. He needs to offer more than he has since the midway mark of the year.
And he's McVay's choice for QB and making the choices McVay wants made.

"that's not a world we want to live in" or something to that effect was the quote about grinding out long drives consistently.. McVay doesn't believe in that.

In these games.. you better fucking believe in those.
I'm not disputing that McVay wants more deep shots. Hell, the final INT was the right decision. It was just a shitty throw.
That 40 yarder to Deebo late reminded me a lot of the 40 yarder to Sanders a few years ago against SF. That one ended our playoff chances, this one kept SF's playoff hopes alive. Our secondary drives me nuts sometimes. What a brutal big play to give up in that situation.
They were still communicating and not set at the snap. Unsurprisingly, it resulted in a blown coverage. That speaks to a coaching issue.

I agree but ultimately it's Stafford making the decision to throw the ball deep.
I agree. He is killing us right now. I am not a Stafford fan at present. He has ample opportunity to become a hero though!

Reeder has been bad since he came into the league. I don't even know how he is a starter let alone on the team. He is ALWAYS making tackles on his back and getting drug for yac. He reminds me of JL55

Stafford is probably a little better, but not enough to get us any further than Goff did. Same result regardless.

Idk. Goff got us to a Super Bowl. I’m hoping this isn’t a Warner situation (cut bait too early)

I don’t trust Stafford
I don't trust Sean McVay.
He doesn't adapt. He isn't at his best with everything on the line.
He is a brilliant communicator, team builder and offensive coach.
But that's it.

He has all the talent our money and future picks could buy, he's had league MVP caliber players every season, etc etc and when it all gets tough, he leaves them to figure it out on their own.
If anyone didn't see our last SB in that 2nd half... I don't know what to tell you. The only difference is Wade Phillips with this defense would have stomped the 49ers asses.

100% agree, fuck morris..Why did mcvay call for a bomb when we could of just tried to get 10 yards.

He probably didn't want to be put on a position where we would have to kick a fg if no td and then I believe had we tied we would have continued this game basically next week. Right a tie meant we would play the whiners again.

Morris calls shitty defenses at the end of halves. He cost us 10 points.

Stafford is a veteran. He's setting his reads. He's the one making the decision to do it.
Yep, Rogers doesn't make that throw, takes a smart throw to keep the chains moving.

We needed 1 first down on offense and game over. After that didn't happen, we needed one stop on defense with whiners at like 20 yard line and we couldn't do that. Just imagine the pressure of being in the superbowl or the NFC championship with these players and play callers. It's not gonna happen folks. We will be lucky to beat Cards next week.

They adjusted and had presnap movement on almost every single play. It seemed to cause confusion and our d couldn’t handle it. Bad job by Morris.

Also bad job on McVay for not adjusting to their constant pressure all day.

Sorry.
But we talk about it all the time from an offensive perspective about not having enough time to score because of time of possession.

The Rams offense did dick in the second half and the D was gassed. Getting a first down woulda helped that a bunch.

BOTH of those series were complete failures and lost the Rams the game.

Even with a not so great throw Beckham has to make a play there to at least knock the ball down.

On the other Int, same thing WRs have own the ball and make plays you can’t wait for the ball to come to you.

Stafford and the offense didn’t lose this game.

Morris and that pussified weak defensive scheme did.

It honestly feels like we missed the playoffs right now. Going from 2 to 4 seed is a big difference.
Not going far either way. Either will be outcoached or lose on TO’s
by Detroits seconds.

Me and you both. Was hoping the LA Rams could win just one SB during my lifetime. After 50 years, it's not looking like it will happen.

We won the SB in 1999, so we already have.

The goal is to win ANOTHER ONE this year!!!
