That 40 yarder to Deebo late reminded me a lot of the 40 yarder to Sanders a few years ago against SF. That one ended our playoff chances, this one kept SF's playoff hopes alive. Our secondary drives me nuts sometimes. What a brutal big play to give up in that situation.
Yup. What the hell was Ramsey doing?

Not running on 3rd and 1 right before the half costed us the game. We run, the whiners never get the ball back and we go into half 17-0

It's not even about running there. Yes ideally you should make a 1 yard run which we were struggling with but more importantly is the fact you go empty it leaves nothing for the defense to have to worry about besides pass. That would barely be ok if you had Kyler Murray back there but that's was awful. Run it there but even if you pass fine but keep them thinking.

Then you have a shot at 3 and 7 to salt the game away and you can't scheme up a play to at least attempt to get a first down???? Those two plays hurt this outcome.

Then Morris called excellent first half got to give credit. Then make no adjustments and actually has the balls to continue to play prevent style scheme knowing these guys love that shit and run us over in the open field.

Literally at a loss here it's like winning the division is almost empty hollow victory.

I dunno WHY Morris went back to his old shit, but he did.

Same pattern as when we were getting our asses handed to us.

He was doing so well, but he REALLY wants to show a 4 man front and play 4 man front concepts. That's not how a 3-4 should be and the whole point of a 3 man front with the extra LBs is to disguise the pass rush.

WE DON'T HAVE THE LINEBACKERS TO PLAY THIS 4-3 HYBRID OF A 3-4 HYBRID!!!

Sorry.

I trust we'll be ready for next week, the sooner the better. Hope we get a Saturday game so that we can get to it sooner. We tend to respond better on short weeks.

Not to mention we allowed the whiners to go 88 yards yard with no timeouts with a minute and a half in the 4th quarter.
And they got the ball back because we didn't have the balls to go for it on 3rd and 6.

I dont understand "we were in the game because of xyz" who the fuck cares? We lost and that's the only thing that matters.

We go in without momentum. So does our opponent. I think we can win but I can't see us winning in Green Bay the following week. The 49ers or Eagles have to win if we want to avoid that. We may not win in Tampa either but I think the odds are better. Whatever the case I don't see this team being a legit Superbowl contender. Playoff games tend to get more physical. Our lines on both sides are probably the weakest of all the playoff teams when it comes to that style of play.
I could see the Niners beating Dallas, but even with a playoff game, the emotion expended for this game could factor a bit next week for them. They have to overcome that.

Morris is exactly what McVay wants him to be, if anyone thinks McVay will go with a different D coordinator you are crazy.....only someone hiring him as a head coach would do it and I can't imagine any team doing that.

Looks like the defense sucks a lot more than I thought.

If theRams Defense plays next week like they played today Stan Kroenke might not give McVay any choice in the matter!!!

Get him now, can't be any worse though I blame McVay for play calling at end of half and end of game. If you can't trust Stafford to throw for 1 first down at end of the game then what are we?
Yep, didn't even try to ice it in regulation. What in the literal fuck is that!?

Honest question..
What personnel DOES this team have to run on defense?
I would simply argue that they are fatally flawed, from a defensive standpoint, in the secondary and, with Jones injured, at ILB.

I don't see any scheme fixes.

People screaming at Morris for being soft.. but.. missed tackles? Blown assignments?

Just a team mentality thing, imo.

It is pretty obvious to my eye that McVay has Stafford reading deep to short, regardless of game circumstance. It's ridiculous.

You are right that Stafford is a vet. I agree he is very much to blame. Hugely so. His carelessness is unforgivable. But again, I can't see him going rogue that often. This is an overly pass-happy team, and that is coming from above. It has McVay's finger prints all over it.
I agree but ultimately it's Stafford making the decision to throw the ball deep.

It was his protection he didn't trust

I for one am getting tired of saying of our coach when he makes mistakes like the horrible decision to run 3 times up the middle, punt and give the ball back to the Niners " there is no other coach I would rather have, even with his mistakes".
He cost us the game by running the ball 3 times up the middle when all we needed was a first down to end the game. After the first run of a couple of yards there should have been 2 play action, safe passes to get the 7-8 yards the Rams needed for a first down.
If I know that, screaming at the TV, how come McVay does not know that ? Take control of the game when you have the chance. Be ruthless, stomp on their throat. In the back of his mind did he want to give his buddy Shanahan a entry into the playoffs while getting the division title for himself ?
He shrivled, just like in the Super Bowl. We had the game won. He did not even try to get the first down. Went with "rely on our defense". Well, for one, its not that good.

Who cares what fans are in the stands? It had little to no impact on the game.
The people around here using that as an excuse are lying to themselves. We cant beat SF because they're more physical than us. Its that simple. They make the big plays when they need too and we dont. Its really not complicated football. Just look at the LOS on both sides and how its moving. Stafford was under insane pressure today and played pretty well. The running game was non existent and the defense was an utter an absolute joke.

McVay also went full bitch mode when one 1st down wins the game. 3rd and 6 and we dont go for the win. Just cowardice. 0-5 against them the last 3 years and we dont go for the win.
