He also through for 40TDs and almost 5,000yards in his first year. The last pick was just under thrown.

Today he drove down and threw what should've been the game winning TD with 90 secs left after getting his ankle hurt a few plays before.

Stafford has had a number of bad turnovers this year, but today was on the defense 100%. 90 yards in 60 seconds with no timeouts when they need a fucking TD is laughably bad and cost Morris his job.
Yeah I think it’s unfair and kinda silly to assume that that Stafford is already a finished product in this system and this—right now—is as good as he will be.

No I'm not doing that I'm just stating the facts. Who care what happened it regulation because it didn't end there it doesn't matter why it didn't end. But in ot with the game on the line Stafford made the right read with a horrible throw and that's game. Everything that happened it regulation is a mute point.

Imagining how you would have reacted one year ago today if Goff threw the go ahead TD and the defense allowed a team to go 88 yards in less than two minutes with no timeouts.....and then someone saying the loss was on Goff.

At least fake it....try to be consistent. Otherwise instead of writing the post above, just type "I don't like Matt Stafford".

God we missed Bobby Trees today. He woulda had like 40 yards rushing on end arounds and converted some much needed 3rd downs.

I haven’t loved Ramsey’s body language recently.
He’s been shown yelling at Morris at least twice this season. That should tell you he isn’t happy with the way the defense is being called. And I’d agree with him for the most part.

Whose house has always been dumb. It would be dumb if we always packed the stadium and we’re loud at all the right times. It is especially dumb since our home field advantage is anything but.

I disagree. Stafford has the better supporting cast especially when healthy and let's be real about the running backs. Shanahan can make any runningback look all world. Now if you wanna talk about who has better coaching...unfortunately that's a different story.

Why continue to be a Rams fan at this point? Serious question.

We didn't play prevent. Prevent would have worked. We played...no one knows what coverage we are in. The defense failed.

Whatever we are supposed to be playing is obviously rocket science to Taylor Rapp. The guy is straight up stupid and I can see why Ramsey slapped him in the head. He was literally covering nobody on the game tying TD. He was at the bottom of the screen covering grass.

I don't know. Maybe if our defense appeared able to do that in the second half, I would agree.
But there's more to calling a game than down and distance.
If I'm McVay there, no way I feel good about giving them the ball back.. not even on their 10.
Tell Stafford to make his first read and if it's not there, throw it away and we punt.... but we NEEDED to convert and put them away.
It showed no confidence in his offense and he essentially wiped his hands of it and put winning the game in his mediocre DCs hands.
It's 3rd down, you've got the leagues best WR, OBJ and Higbee along with your franchise QB you bet the farm on and you need 7 yards to beat these motherfuckers.

McVay is supposed to be our strength. He's making the big bucks. He's got the credit cards and the checkbook... 7 yards.

I expect a lot more from him.
Except they ran the ball down the Rams throats all 2nd half, without time outs they couldnt run the ball. That was supposed to be the supreme advantage. And San Fran didnt even face a 3rd down on the drive. Hot knife thru butter.
Sorry, I just dont believe anyone would have bought in to a failed 3rd and 7. Would have given them 15-20 sec more clock and a time out.

If our defense gets a stop everyone on planet earth assumed they were gonna get…this would’ve been a celebration thread.

The last time McVay put the ball in Stafford’s hands, he threw two absolute dimes and gave the Rams a 7 point lead.

The next time the offense touched it, McVay sat on the ball and gave this defense as good a situation to end the game as any.

If McVay throws it on 3rd and 7 and it’s incomplete, the offense woulda had like a minute to get into FG range instead of 25 seconds. I know he didn’t assume the D would get run thru like that but still.

thats not really my point though

my point is everyone though the game was over when they had to go 90 yards with no time outs.
I know I didn't. I wasn't overly confident like that. I kept rooting for us to stop them but a game isn't over for sure until we are kneeling to kill the clock.

You're not wrong. But I'm sorry a game winning drive and TD with 80 secs left wasn't enough for you. I guess he should've done it again with 24 secs after the defense just got bent over for the 10th time and took it up the ass. The guy isn't Brady or Rodgers. But he's good enough. And he was very good today overall. The OL got absolutely shit on ALL DAY. There was zero running game ALL DAY. Stafford took big hits, got hurt and still drove down to take the lead with which should've been enough. Blaming this on him is ridiculous.

Rams just get beat in the trenches with the niners. Can't stop the run. Can't run. Can't even protect stafford. Same fucking story over and over, due to poor coaching and lack of positive adjustments. Jimmy g was way more comfortable in the pocket but he also wasn't looking downfield constantly to make the big play. Rams need to call a shorter passing game when necessary but neither mcvay nor Stafford can help themselves in throwing long on 3rd and short

We had the ball last

And threw it away on a 50/50 poorly thrown pass

Had that been last years QB lol, you damn well know what your narrative would be

Hey, it’s over

12-5 NFC West Champs

Beat the deadbirds then on to our personal bitches the Bucs

All coaches make play calling mistakes during a game. All of them.

I am not blaming McVay for this game.

Yea I mean nobody seems to explicitly want to say it.

But this game came down to ONE play. Ramsey jumping a flat route while their most dangerous offensive player runs right past him. That one mistake was the single biggest of the game.
