I'm only speaking on Morris in terms of his end of the game D, but he got schooled badly there. And yes I know, missed tackles didn't help us either in this game.

but giving up a 90 yard drive in 59 secs was what lost the game.

Bingo. They had no timeouts either. Not to mention they're missing the best LT in pro football. Tackle well, dont give up any big plays. Our soft ass zone scheme is trash. Morris is garbage and McVay will be replacing him after this year you can bet your life on it.

I'm just going to say that Ramsey fucked up.
Because he did.

55 yard play when he went to double a guy that Rapp already had and let Deebo run free. Disaster.

His scrambling recovery kinda said it all.. no?
I think they were in zone.

If it was man to man then yeah Ramsey fucked up badly.

Zone he fucked up bad but if I had him man to man and stick with him, that wouldn't happen.

I would have been on the sideline telling Ramsey you stick with Deebo no matter what.

You have a 7 point lead at home, other team on the ropes with no timeouts and 88 yards to go.
The offense did its job at that point for sure.
That was like watching an NY Jets or Detroit Lions loss

You have a 7 point lead at home, the ball and a 3rd and 7 when Kupp is emulating Calvin Johnson. Your defense is 100% totally gassed and has been getting pushed around all day.

The offense did not do its job at that point. The offenses job was to go for 7 yards to put the game away, not play to have the other side burn a timeout. There is no mathematical equation where the better choice was to give the other team life just to make them burn a timeout vs. just trying to end it right then, right there. So what, they cost Jimmy GQ the ability to spike the ball 1 time. Yeah that worked out real well when they had been moving the ball at will against the team for half the game.

Then at the end of the game, you've got a timeout left, 20 seconds on the clock, Stafford gets sacked and you need 30 some yards to get into field goal range. You've had him throwing the ball deep all game as it was, so what do you do? Well, apparently you don't call the timeout and take a shot. You go to OT where you have a 25% chance of winning.

One first down.
That's all they needed.

So.. again.. you can say it's all on the defense... or you can understand that it was a team failure at the end of the 4th.
McVay went 13 personnel and called 3 straight run plays. Seems like he had faith the D would get a stop. I wouldn’t be surprised if he handled the situation the exact same next time.

This is blasphemy, but Donald might be a bit of a liability in a way vs the Niners in terms of not being a guy that excels in tying up blockers to stymie a rushing attack. He can use quickness to get around a block here and there, but when they run right at him, They just push the line of scrimmage.

And they don't have enough depth to rest the starters either. Bobby Brown needs to really step up next yr and be a factor.

Worst thing for next week is we play Cardinals at home. The Cards rock on the road and suck at home. By winning the division the Rams have lost the first playoff game next. Book it!
I like our chances next week.

Long and DD are not NFL starters and D Williams is incredibly inconsistent.
And Rapp and Fuller are average at best. Nick scott is trash. This defense is just the most overrated thing in the NFL.

90 yards in 60 seconds and no timeouts. They had to pass. We knew what they were doing..and we folded like a lawn chair.

My frustration is that we couldn’t have played better for the first 28 minutes of the game and then forgot how to call plays that work. Huge momentum shifts inside the last 2 mins of each half cost us that game
That's when our D went into our trademark mode.... Prevent!

It seems like every single game Stafford is throwing a deep ball interception with an under-thrown duck ball. This game it was more than once… predictable loss… winning the NFC West means nothing to me when the 49ers physically dominate us in that fashion every year.

In his defense, he is throwing into triple coverage every time

Yeah and he gave them a 24-17 lead and Jimmy G 90 yards to go with no timeouts. Think he did his job!

It's okay dude. He'll still be here next year no many how many picks he throws next week. You'll get plenty more chances to root for Stafford

That's it. It's over. Next year is a new year. Yeah we won some games, yada yada. Coach and team overrated and all pretty good but not good enough. Doesn't matter who we lose to now. One and done. Stafford..... oh boy. Not a good look. See you guys next year. Was a fun ride. Lol.
Really?

Rams had a great chance to win the game. A lot of factors caused this loss to the hated Whiners.

1. The poor decision to go empty backfield on third and about a foot. That gave the Whiners life after Rams dominated the half.
2. Prevent defense for givng up 3 points at the end of the half.
3. Trying to run on early downs starting the second half when they could get anywhere. Whiners knew McVay would try to run.
4. Poor tackling.
5. Lack of depth on the defensive line. Missing SJD.
6. McVay running three and out to give the ball back to Whiners before TD.
7. Prevent defense at the end of regulation prevented the Rams win. Morriss needed to get pressure on Jimmy G. Send five-man blitz.
8. Stafford going deep on the last play of the game when they had time.

I think McVay gets too high emotionally early on. Stay off the field when your team scores a TD. Morris plays too loose too often. With all these issues the Rams can still move forward. They need to stay together and tighten everything up.

Even if I was trying to say this is Morris' fault (which I'm not) I can't count on you to be objective or look at facts about that. True to form, if I say he cost us this game you'd start talking about other games just like when we talk about a specific play you start taking about other plays.

My point was, you are super quick to shit on McVay given how thoroughly you're willing to defend some coaches. Coaches who haven't earned that defense.

Also, why are they your 4 previous losses? Who are you?

As for why we can't beat the niners? Idk. We were doing a hell of a job on defense up until that last drive of the first half. Classic prevent defense time. Classic prevent defense performance. Then more of the same shit to start the second half. Once it was even the defensive players suddenly figure out how to play again? Then when we're up by a touchdown with 88 yards and 87 seconds left, suddenly the defense forgets how to play again? Classic prevent defense time. Classic prevent defense performance.

The offense had it's fair share of fuck ups. The defense has it's fair share of fuck ups. It's never one thing. Surprisingly, special teams was fine.
I don't know how much clearer I can be.

THE DEFENSE FAILED IN THE 4TH.

My point is that THE OFFENSE FAILED AS WELL.

Don't want to see it? All good.

My point is that it's pretty clear that the team McVay has built cannot compete with the 9ers. The offense couldn't even get 300 yards today. Well over 100 yards less than SF and two turnovers. I don't have a big problem with the first one in that specific situation.. but the last one? Well.. why aren't we talking about that?

And.. again.. McVay's team.

the problem is when we go man to man our 3rd/4th CBs are utter garbage and get cooked.
This is why I always thought a fully healthy Tampa would be our biggest threat in the playoffs (AB, Godwin, Evans, Gronk, etc). Thought their WR3 and WR4 would just feast.
