Anybody else notice, the moment we get into field goal range we stop moving the ball. We have a chance to go up by 2 scores we only get a field goal. We have a chance to roll we just stall. It happens so often. I don't know why we stop moving. Well this time we decide to not hike the fucking ball. And don't tell me we over came it, cause we should have been able to get closer. We still might of missed, but we always seem to settle some how once we get with in range.
On the last possession the D tightened up coverage.
Not having the extra TO, wasted by McVays idiotic challenge really hurt.
With that TO you can run something to the middle of the field for an easy 10 yards instead of trying to throw to covered receivers on the sideline.

Can we get a bad team that we can just blow out?
That comes next week. If we can finish the next 4 games at 7-2 we should be right in the hunt for the division. SF, Atlanta, cincy and pitt are the next 4 games then it gets tough again with chicago then baltimore. Followed by 4 division games with dallas in the middle. I still see 12-4 as very possible, 13-3 if we can get well over this 4 game stretch.

I appreciate your comment but you're not really trying to tell me Gurley is the same player as early last year .... are you? There is no way most of us here on this board believe that.
If you look at his stats, Gurley is the same player that he was in 2016. After that season people said he regressed, fantasy bust, etc. I think his line (and defensive adaptation) have more to do with his performance than his knee.

i had us going 8-0 before the bye. We have lost at home to a bad Bucs team. And now lost to a mediocre Seattle team. I mean they barely beat a terrible Bengals team at home, beat a bad Steelers team, lost to Saints at home, and beat a terrible Cardinals team. Think about that. We had no business losing these two games. None. These are the games that haunt you at the end of the season when you just miss the playoffs or have to go on the road.
I had the Rams 2-2 after four and 5-3 at the midway point.
3-3 is looking very possible.

I think Gurley not being the same guy has hurt us to this point. We're out of sync. But I also think McVay is starting to realize that it's time to hand the keys to Goff. Yeah, he's been up and down, but it's time to make this the Goff show, not the Gurley show. With Everett adding to our awesome trio of WRs, we have the weapons to throw on just about anybody. And we've been shredding teams from the shotgun this year. I think we're about to see the offense evolve.

I honestly think Gurley’s lack of touches has more to do with them trying to turn the keys over to Goff than them trying to save Gurley or anything.

That said....I would like to see a game where Gurley gets his traditional 25 touches. I think it’s important to find out if he can be effective doing that and if the team can be effective doing that. You’ve gotta find different ways to win. And I think it’s a little unfair to compare Gurley to his previous seasons when his touches have almost been cut in half.

The only difference is the number of carries. Gurley has looked good when he has somewhere to run, and when he doesnt have a hole, he looks a lot like TG of 2016. He still has the burst and power he has always had. Did you not see the TD last week and the runs early this week? It is the outside runs with penetration that everyone wants to remember and they forget the runs up the gut where TG carries people and gets the tough yards.

We got outcoached. Wilson pwnd Goff and Carroll pwnd McVay. We weren’t victorious. We weren’t good enough.

I agree we weren't good enough. but pwnd is extreme man. We can't loose by 1/2 point ya know lol. I feel your pain though

I don’t agree with your assessment, but I appreciate your post. It doesn’t seem to me that our intention was to put it on Goff.

I think, we tried to keep a balanced attack. I, do think, like @jrry32 , we need to transition to putting it on Goff. Our players, fans, and media need to buy in.

It’s Goff’s team now. Team wise, our players have to make plays for him, now, not like the last couple of weeks. We failed him...

Couldn't disagree more with "Ontario Ram's post. Rams will make the playoffs. Offense played well tonight and Goff showed what he is made of by driving the ball to within FG range. And no I don't blame Zuerlein. So he missed; he ain't gonna make every one. Pushed it just a bit. I'm sure he feels awful--but you win as a team and lose as a team.

Our failure to settle for two FGs in the first half instead of TDs--even one TD changes the outcome of the game--hurt us in the end. Give Russel Wilson credit. He threw for four TDs but the D on their last series wasn't fooled and was able to turn the ball over to our offense. Goff is a tough guy; he's not afraid to take a hit and he has taken many of them. Our offensive line played better than it did on Sunday. Let's go on a five- or- six-game winning streak and get back into the NFC West race. And we're capable of it, too. GO RAMS! Oh and I think Gerald Everett should have caught that ball that ended up being intercepted. It wasn't Goff's fault.

He averaged 3.5 yards after contact in the first half. That’s pretty good. Only got 3 carries in the second half

The only game where we’ve run it more than 20 times was the opener vs Carolina. I don’t think we’ve tried to have a balanced attack at all. We’ve averaged 52 passing attempts per game over the past 3 weeks.

This defense reminds me of the 2000 team . The offense will have to put up a ton of points and it might not be enough. The fact that they just kept letting Wilson step through the pressure shows the lack of discipline. The back 4 on this defense are very underwhelming. I'm tired of watching Peter's get torched and blame it on no safety help . By the way , where is the safety help ? The receiver runs inside of Peter's into a wide open field . Donald is our only reliable disruptive player and he had a poor game tonight by being too aggressive. He ran by Wilson all night . No faith in this defense

It’s easy to say, but hard to do, a balanced attack, while being smoked.

.

They couldn't stop Carson all game after contact. It seemed like he made 5 more yards every time. And I've never seen them leave so many running lanes for that little oompa.

.
problem that i see is too many would be tacklers just going for the strip instead of making the stop. I think is time for the defense to man up (outside of 99) and just make the freak'n tackle!

I guarantee we win our division.

Our pass game is a juggernaut right now. With Blythe back in there and Mcvay getting Havenstein help with the RB etc our pass protection was very good. Goff was shredding their defense to 400 yards.

We can’t run the ball but there is lots of season yet to tweak that.

Our defense will get better.

If Leg hits the FG the talk is about Goff driving the team 60 yards down the field on the road overcoming penalties by his Oline and the incredible throw he made to Kupp and Everett.

If Donald was truly healthy and in there we would have destroyed the Hags.
