Yep. They better come back and beat the Seahawks on Thursday after this shameful effort. But that'll be hard to do since we're playing at Seattle on a short week and likely without Peters (due to that fat turd's illegal hit).

But Rob Havenstein needs to figure his shit out. He's been pathetic this year.
There have been stretches two years ago and last year where he was beaten plenty by speed rushers....he would just get a hand on the guy and blocking in the middle was good enough Goff could usually step up.
Hav has been a bit of a liability against speed rushers. Most giant Ts have this same weakness.

Anything can happen any given Sunday. We lost, we have some things to improve on but as bad as we played we still had a chance to win at the end. Dallas’s mighty offense only put up 10 points on the the Saints while our “lowly” offense put up 27. I’m just glad that the bar has been set high for us so anything short of perfection causes disappointment. This is a whole lot more fun that the Fisher years. I think the team is humble and smart enough that they can improve and hope we turn it around on Thursday

It is dumb but it is also a strategy. They are trying to do load management like the Raptors did. They want him to be fine in January and February. We will see how it works.

I don't see them either needing TG or playing in February.

Except that we ran the ball what? once out of the first 20 snaps? And that run was by Kupp?

Not sure how you can determine if the run game is working with that game plan. We ended up getting behind early and then pretty much HAD to abandon the run before we ever really saw if it could be established.

True.... I think some of that had to do with the fact that Tampa Bay had the #1 run defense in the league coming in... with a horrible pass defense.

I'm guessing that's one of the big reasons McVay planned the he did.

There's a fellow named Mahones who's younger than that and already blowing out the record book,
Yes. And Goff is not Mahomes. Neither is any other QB drafted in the last five years. Mahomes is currently better that every QB including Brady, Brees and Rogers. I wish Rams had drafted him just as 30 others teams wished.

Fix the o-line and Goff will be fine. Move Rob inside replacing Blythe who is as big of a liability inside as Rob is outside. Then play Edwards at RT. Edwards has much better feet than Rob. That is about as good of a quick fix as can be done this season. With the Hawks coming up on a short week I don't expect changes. But then they have a long week to make the change if they want.

When you watch Blythe it is obvious the problem is exactly what I've been saying about him. His play radius is too small. If he can square up on a rusher he has a chance. But with short arms he's at a disadvantage if they get to his side because they will fend him off with their longer arms and swim by him or leverage him aside. That's what's been happening to him. Rob with his bigger play radius can close that A gap better and probably more consistently.

Until they control the LOS against a 6 man front they will keep seeing it. But Tampa didn't need it because of the poor play overall on that right side. A slow RT and an undersized weak RG is a prescription for the disaster they suffered today.

My venting was last week. I saw this coming. Maybe, now we will fix some things.
You saw the defense buckle like this???? You saw them let a mediocre offense run up and down the field, only punting once the whole game?? Well damn... I sure didn't see that.

Also, we need to make Gerald Everett a bigger part of our gameplan. I understand that Higbee is the better blocker, but the Bucs could not cover Everett. I imagine a lot of teams will have similar issues when they're already accounting for Gurley, Cooks, Woods, and Kupp. We need some wrinkles to throw at them. Everett is a wrinkle.

I see him trying to force his will, do it "his" way no matter what. It cost us with Martz in his Super Bowl. It cost us in our last Super Bowl.
This season Gurly does not get the ball on hand offs enough. Today he got it a pathetic amount of times. Goff had WAY too many passes. Had a bad game.
Gurly gets 25 carries Rams win.
I think coach McVay is getting to full of himself. He will take all the blame but I think its crap.
If teams are daring us to run up the middle, run up the middle time after time. Get in the fucking "I" formation and beat their brains in until they stop it.
(this thread is not some game day "vent" thread. Its about the whole season and going back as far as January,s Super Bowl. If you mods feel it should just be jammed into a vent thread, delete it. I want it to stand on its own. Not a vent thread.)

Take this off. Delete it. Its not a VENT and I do not want it here. Censorship, telling us what to think, where to put it sucks.
Let it stand on its own. This is wrong. Worst thing about ROD.

Rams down 11 and get gifted the roughing the snapper penalty. Ball on the 14. Chance to put pressure on TB.l with a touchdown. You go BACKWARDS 11 yards... At home. Settle for a FG.

Make those corrections McVay.

Dude calm your tits. This is a vent that doesn’t need a separate thread. It’s not a bad thing not having 14 different venting with should of done this or should have done that. That’s called a vent and that’s where this is.

I'm not even mad. We got punched in the mouth hard after we came out with a terrible gameplan but I saw a team that played their hearts out to get back in this game. Definitely an any given Sunday reminder that nobody is untouchable and we still have a lot of work to do.

I don’t want to say I enjoyed the game, because we lost... and it was ugly all over the place in many ways... but it also was a crazy fun game in a weird way.

We lost.

I see lots to work on. It’s a long season. No team is perfect and... any given Sunday this happens all the time.

The overall defense and play of the offensive line was surprisingly, well... bad. The oline penalties seemed to hit us every series.

Goff and the entire offense are really off-rhythm in many ways. The offense and Goff need to improve under pressure. Must find a way to run the ball!

Seattle is a tough place to rebound.

Just trying to keep the place clean and easy to read. We all appreciate that, despite the occasional merge and move if we get one wrong from time to time.

Nothing personal.

This too ^. We drafted Everett for a reason, and in fact, he was taken ahead of Kupp. He's a big, physical athletic target that presents mismatch problems for defenses. We need to see more of him and more 12 personnel, if nothing else, to at least make teams think twice about throwing the 6-1 alignment against us.

New fan eh? Seems a lot of people don't remember just two years ago when Hav was tried at RG and was even worse than Demby was at RT.

Perhaps it's time to look again at Mr Elite, you know that QB who's allergic to pressure and STILL can't see the field or move up into the pocket after 3+ years.
We had an extensive discussion regarding Mr Elites skill set a few months back but I see that there are still those unconvinced as to the reality of our dear leader.

Therefore, for the sake of reality, here once again is a taste (review) of Mr Goff's actual results....

In the past 11 games Mr Clutch. aka, (to some) Mr Elite has accomplished the following despite the gobs of money thrown at him......btw, where can I find a gig that pays me tens of millions per year despite under performing on almost every level?

So without further adieu, please consider these outstanding statistics and then ask yourselves once again.....why do I believe Mr Goff is (ugh) elite?

Past 11 games...

Comp pct: 59.1

Pass ypg: 235.5

TD's: 11

Int's: 11

.....and the "coup de gras" (7) turn overs in the past 2 games....talk about clutch.

I'll spare you all any additional pain by not even beginning to go into how many throws this sorry excuse for an elite QB has missed over that same period.

Finally, remember the definition of insanity and whether it applies to this sorry situation because I don't see it going away any time soon.
