New fan eh? Seems a lot of people don't remember just two years ago when Hav was tried at RG and was even worse than Demby was at RT.
I think RT might be Edwards' eventual destination next season and beyond. But he's probably not ready to play there this season, barring Hav's play completely disintegrating. Hav's been struggling all season really, and his worst game was yesterday. But I think the first step is trying to fix his mechanics vs a speed rush and if this continues the move that oldnotdead suggested might happen.

Don't feel too bad, my team had their ass handed to them by the Bears and their second-string QB.

After last season we've gotten spoiled. You would think we could never be spoiled after enduring the Linehan/Spagnuolo/Fisher years.

I posted this on the game day thread but - have you guys seen the Natural? Of course you have

Do we have a Harriet Bird on our hands here with Goff?

I know the chick is super hot and all Jared but she may be throwing your game off seriously.

Did you know the ancient Jewish tribes abstained from sex for weeks before battle? Maybe Jared needs to go to temple?

1. Sean McVay - 68 passes? Nice. Mike Martz 2003-2005 is back. Any Marc Bulger sightings? What a joke of a play calling game

2. Rob Havenstein - Guy's technique is awful all of a sudden. Bend at the waste, using hands, holding a lot too I may add, and generally getting exposed as terrible.

3. Defense/Wade Phillips - was this the have a 5 yard bubble around Godwin strategy? Made Winston look all pro. So much for the defense is legit this year.

Yeah, my initial over-reaction yesterday is that there are problems in Ram-land but is it Goff or is it McVay?

Maybe we don't know until/unless McVay starts drafting QB's and trying to convert them to WRs...

Folks, the problem isn't Goff. If your offense scores 40 points and you lose, it's not on the offense. I said this at the beginning of the year, and last year, your defense can not keep letting the other team score so many points. The average score over the last 30 years is like 23.5 ppg. If your defense gives up more than that, you won't continue to be a winner. Look at last year, including the playoff you had 10 games that qualified. It can't continue and have the Rams continue to win.

I'm not joking when I say this but I think you could be right. We've seen it before with front men in sports. They get involved with a woman that's out of their league and their game falls apart. Prime example is Pau Gasol, the guy was a great player and he openly admitted when he was struggling it was from being distracted with his personal life. The media got a hold of this and made his personal life public. Not saying the exact same thing is happening here but I can totally seeing that being the case.

Im really trying to understand this thought process. Turning the ball over 4 times isn't on Goff? Did that not put our defense in bad spots and horrible field position? Did that not put our defense on the field for longer than they should have been? Did the fumble not go back for 6pts?

Come on man, people have been trying to pin this on the defense alone. We still could have won. What about the defense in the Chiefs or Vikings game last year? They got carved up, but Goff didnt turn the ball over FOUR TIMES and miss two wide open TDs.

The o-line needs to be better yes. We are not running the ball I think because McVay has lost confidence in the OL. But to say this game wasn't on Goff is just totally false. Honestly, how do people watch that game and tell themselves Goff played well? It's fucking ludacris, the guy has been turning the ball over more than anyone in the league. Leads in INTs. Leads in fumbles. Missing wide open throws. Wide fucking open TDs. 27th in the NFL in passing percentage. And thats just this season through 4 games! Go look at the last 12 games.

It's okay for us to say he needs to be better! Its okay its not blasphemy! He does need to be better please wake up.

Today I learned a QB who throws for 500+ yards with a 66% completion rate on 68 throws can be a problem.
Yea 517 yards and 7 scoring drives doesn't cut it. The bum.

Yea he was pressured 30 times, but if he cant put up 600 yards and 50 points he's not cutting it.

The 10 penalites on the offense was Goff's fault clearly to.

He takes some of the blame, there is plenty to go around and h did turn it over 4 times.

Meh... we played like total shit and I’d rather our wake up call be now than against the Shitchickens. Guarantee they going to be rearing to go against the Seahawks!

On to the next game which is an important divisional game.

SEA is sort of a must win game. The Rams can't afford to fall behind too far, it's a short season.

Yeah. My point is that it was just a bad day for everyone on the line and Goff didn't help at times. I also think McVay didn't help much by putting them in pass pro on virtually every play.

This is accurate, and as I have said they were coming full speed and there were too many guys to block.

If Gurley wasn't such an excellent blocker McVay might have gotten Goff hurt.

I see lots to work on. It’s a long season. No team is perfect and... any given Sunday this happens all the time.

Yup all of that is for sure true.

There is a laundry list of thing to pay some attention to..........and McVay has to look inward because he cannot put Goff in that predicament again and expect things to go well.

Hopefully this was the brain fart game. I've said this before unfortunately but maybe this will be the game that makes McVay check himself about getting away form the run.

Now, I didn't get to watch the game. But were all 4 turnovers Goff's fault? Any tipped INT's. Strip sacks in 1.2 seconds? Granted 4 turnovers is a lot, but so is 40 points. Unless all 4 where pick 6's.

You saw the defense buckle like this???? You saw them let a mediocre offense run up and down the field, only punting once the whole game?? Well damn... I sure didn't see that.
The team wasn’t playing good, it’s a team sport. The defense finally followed suit. It sucks.

I'm wondering what's wrong with Hav. I've haven't seen him play this bad since his 2nd year. He was playing hurt, I wonder if he's doing the same now. Doesn't make sense that he sucks all of a sudden.

One - defender hits his arm as he throws (maybe he could have avoided defender better)
Two - bad pass right to TB player - returned to Rams 9 yard line (horrible read on his part)
Three - defender hits his arm on 4th down play - either way - an incompletion or interception puts that ball at TBs 20 or 25 yard line, respectively (this was insignificant as an interception imo)
Four - Havenstein completely blows block and Goff tries to get rid of ball but defender hits his arm for a fumble and gets returned for a touchdown with about a minute left in the game when the Rams were at the 50 yard line with 1 time out available (again maybe he could have avoided the defender better and thrown the ball away). Note - this was a 3rd and 8 so throwing it away would have made it 4th and 8. Note 2 - Kupp was held on 2nd and 8 and no PI was called and the review wouldn't overturn it.

So - three of the turnovers were primarily from defenders hits but maybe he could have avoided the defenders better and thrown the ball away

However - as noted on item 3 - it was 4th down so TB was going to get the ball either way

And as an addendum to item 3 - I call the turnover primarily on McVay for not getting the play in fast enough and Goff hurrying to the line and having the ball hiked at the 1 second mark. It was really a stupid play all in all. TB knew that Goff had to hike it right at that moment and came flying in and the offensive line was unable to get set properly.

Except that we ran the ball what? once out of the first 20 snaps? And that run was by Kupp?

Not sure how you can determine if the run game is working with that game plan. We ended up getting behind early and then pretty much HAD to abandon the run before we ever really saw if it could be established.

It was clear. If the D showed that 6-1 front, we weren't running and teams KNOW that now.

Either McVay adjusts or this is gonna be a LOOOOOONG season.

What's funny is that we have two really good TEs and if he would run that Washington 2TE offense, that 6-1 would evaporate in a hurry.
