Damn!
That’s the season.
Defense is awesome

I thought we had a chance to win that game but the breaks aren’t with us this season. With that loss to Seattle and now the absence of the PI call on Reynolds just looks like karmic payback for the non-call in the Championship game.....

Anyway, as a Ram fan I know how to deal with lack of playoffs — let’s begin the off-season speculation! :foot

It’s just impossible to read into this stuff during a game.
It is always making massive assumptions about things that are second or two captures of a person usually out of context with other stuff going on.
To make assumptions about a guys attitude, effort, desire, health and how he is as a team mate is really sort of silly.
But it’s not impossible .. there were dudes call goff a pussy in the GDT for not getting fired up or some shit

it’s not impossible to look at how a Person reacts the majority of the time (Gurleys last couple of years under mcvay ) and how he looks this year (or after the cowboys game last year in the playoffs ) to see that something isn’t right ..

The move for Ramsey was the right move. Thinking otherwise misses the point regarding the defense.

Also, there is NOTHING anyone can do when the OL is playing poorly AND injured. Moreover, other teams know this and they're stunting and pulling out all the stops to get that interior pressure.

Honestly, this was the game to take Gurley off the pitch count and ram it down their throats because there's simply NO WAY we make the playoffs now.

Essentially, a decent DL will wreck us and we've got Chicago and Baltimore coming up, both likely losses, the Baltimore one looking like a shellacking.

Other teams that have all the other pieces have had fall offs like this. New Orleans had years of decent defenses fall apart due to injury as well as their OL. Philly can't field a secondary this year.

Is this year going to be salvaged? Likely not. Which is a shame because the potential was there to really do some damage, but it's clear with the swapping of Edwards and Blythe that they KNOW Blythe is a weak spot and they're trying to cover for him and with Allen going down, the interior OL is in shambles.

The only thing that would really ruin things since this season is not going to end in the post-season is to hope and pray that no one gets injured late in the season.

I'm also hoping that Snead can work his magic and acquire OL talent because while Edwards is likely a keeper, we're still 2-3 OL from having an OL and McVay's offense has to have an OL.

Thankfully, I missed the 2nd half due to a family reunion dinner and I'll be rooting for the team next week as always, but it's clear that this team is wounded and while they may limp to some wins, the interior OL is the unit that is costing this team.

Yeah I agree... I'm not making any conclusions about his touches because of his body language.

(however his body language isn't great)

No more margin for error, must win out and I dont see that happening with this OL. Too bad Saffold wanted to get that big payday to play for a loser.
I still don't understand how the Rams passed on paying Saffold, but gave a nice contract to Higbee.

Couple of my thoughts

1. When McVay was first hired, the number 1 complaint about him from Skins fans was his play calling was sometimes questionable. Mainly....abandoning the run when behind.

2. O line is obviously not going to do us any favors, and I honestly can see us losing every game except the Cards. The Ravens alone are going to demolish this line.

3. I dont know why McVay is not using Gurley, but his history tells us he abandons the run when behind. Every game we lost the last 2 seasons,Gurley touched the ball less than 20 times.

4. McVay needs a strong line to be effective. Unfortunately it seems like he may need the best line in the NFL, consistantly, to achieve optimal performances. We all should know that's not practical.

5. McVay, Cooks, Higbee, Gurley, Goff and Donald have all been extended and/or paid top dollar...only one member of this team looks worth the money and I dont have to say his name. I joked earlier in the season that everyone they have paid has been worse, sadly this is true for all but Donald.

6. Fuck the refs.

I guess I am not as bright as you to watch a game on TV and immediately know what is in a players heart.,

Yeah I never said that, but you evidently know what's in McVay's head (or isn't). You and a lot of other people, so what's the difference?

nope Saffold is right, their fans can enjoy the win. We have to face the facts, our offense sucks
^^^This.... We never should have gotten rid of Saffold, biggest mistake McSnead has made thus far... More worried about paying Defensive guys.

Wow... freaking refs man. To go that long with shitty OLine play and to let the refs f us multiple times.

Too many penalties on both sides, but it seemed like every time we did something good, the play came back.
The referees have gathered before the game to discuss their strategy...

Perhaps I misunderstood. Explain this comment.

you mean the game that 90% of human communication is non verbal... yeah that game.

It appears to me you are divining player attitude based on body language. Perhaps you menat something else.

i do sort of have to laugh at the sudden love for Saffold on the board.
I spent several seasons defending him and the need to keep him when he was so injury prone.
The majority of the board couldn’t wait to dump him.

The league figured out McVay's offense nearly a year ago and he still hasn't adapted.
For a team predicated on a strong running game, it's a total shame we haven't invested more in the OL. We have traded away way too much draft capital that should have been used on inexpensive young players.

This is the thing that worries me the most. We have have no capital to spend. I predict some of our bigger contracts getting traded, re-structured or cut.

This game, more than any other, is on McVay, and it's on him simply for his utter failure to stick with the run.

First, I'm not buying the "Gurley is finished" BS. He ran very strong today, and when the hole was there, he hit it decisively. The run that set the tone for our lone offensive scoring drive looked like it came right out of 2017 or the first 11 games of 2018. He didn't look finished at all, he looked more like his old self than any time we've seen him this year.

And today, when we needed him most, he was nowhere to be found, all because of the "pitch count" thing. He was running great on that scoring drive and then, we get into the red zone, and her comes Malcom Brown. WTF??? Not continuing to ride Gurley on that drive is inexcusable. Not giving him a single carry in the 4th quarter is inexcusable.

And while I won't excuse the OL today (pass pro still sucks), they at least did enough run blocking to get Gurley going. It's not their fault the man calling plays kept going away from it.

As for Goff, I just don't think you can accurately judge him right now. He does miss some throws, but he makes others that get dropped, and still there are others he never gets a chance to make because the D is on him before he can get set. The only thing he has going for him better this year than in 2016 is that he has better WR's. But right now he does not have an OL that can adequately protect him nor does he have a head coach that will make the necessary adjustments in light of that fact and put him in better position to succeed. With the exception of guys like Russell Wilson, who can run around and just chuck it up there and have it somehow land in a receiver's hands, I don't think there are many QB's at all that would look that much better than Jared in these circumstances. And he's going to continue to look unsettled and out of rhythm until the head coach adjusts to the current reality of the bad pass protection, gets the run game going more, and stops putting Jared into seven step drops on long developing patterns.

2017 and 2018 are over, that reality doesn't exist this year.

Overall, I think the playoffs are a pipe dream for us this year. The bad OL and the coach's failure to adjust have killed us and will continue killing us. I guess on the bright side, we will have a 3rd or 4th place schedule next year to help us get back on track.

I guess SB hangover really is a thing then huh?

Seriously, I do think out head coach has a Super Bowl hangover. He's had one, maybe two games this year that were well called, and the rest have been headscratchers at best, if not downright bad. He needs to get out of his head.

If it makes anyone feel better apparently Saffold is hated by Titans fans and is having a bad year. And he's commenting on twitter about the negativity.

Well, Titans fans should petition their GM to cut Saffold, and we can pick him right back up. I'd take him back in a second.
