It’s crazy that this is his issue. I became a Skow honk during his season at ND because he caught everything. Made some amazing grabs and was fearless
Clearly it’s mental and thats really a shame because he can catch. Alas, performance gets/keeps you on the field, reputation only gets you a shot

I think you're probably right, his drops when he got chances with us were big-stage misses. That being said, Jourdan mentioned a couple passes getting away from him the 1st day or two of camp and it just made me wince.

Wonder if the QB matters at all. Stafford rifles those things in there at times... not sure Ian Book has much of a slinger arm? But you're probably right that it is more mental than anything. That step to the NFL when defenders are a lot faster, bigger, and dangerous across the middle takes some getting used to I'm sure. Hopefully he shakes those rookie vibes off because he's going to be needed.

Yeah I'm not worried about his hands. That pass he dropped in that big moment was a misplay in some ways in terms of body positioning and can be fixed by him growing as a wideout and improving. He's not a great athlete but he's big, he's physical, he's smart, and he's a competitor. He has a shot to be the guy who replaces Van if he misses time.

I think the prob with him is fans want electric playmaking. But we have that from our top two guys. It's ok to have a meat 'n potatoes type at 3 on the WR depth chart. There's worse things. Our run game will be better for it.

It's, more than likely, just rookie jitters.

Here's hoping Van recovers fully, even if it takes a bit.

This is troubling imo. He’s had all offseason to rest and he’s already having knee problems on the same knee. I’m not buying he had a little tweak, you don’t get surgery for a tweak. Probably some clean up procedure.

I don’t necessarily think it’s just about ‘electric playmaking’ but in order for this offense to reach its max potential, we need a dominant stretch the field type guy. Especially with Stafford that was Van’s role. This is a big chance for Tutu to step up.

I can see Tutu being last year's "DeSean." Can Skowronek or Harris be last year's "Jefferson" until Van gets back? Odell will be back in November.

Yea I think this is exactly how they'll be used. Skow knows the offense better, blocks better, and can play in multiple receiver spots. So he'll definitely get more snaps, I just hope Tutu uses this window to push himself into a bigger role because his speed is undeniable. Even without a true down the field threat this offense will be great, but I want to see the absolute peak potential of what it can look like firing on all cylinders and with Akers healthy.

Our D is be gonna be so good this year its gonna carry our Offense at times. Barring injury we'll still have a Top 10-12ish Offense, but Rams are gonna REPEAT through great Defense.

Yeah, but putting together an outstanding rush attack goes a long way towards opening up that deep WR 'stretch'. Our run game was abysmal last season, and much worse during the playoffs, improve this part of our game and our receivers will take the top off the opposition. jmo.

Van Jefferson to undergo knee surgery, will miss a few weeks

The Los Angeles Rams will be without Van Jefferson for the next few weeks of camp and practice. After seeing a specialist on Monday, Jefferson will undergo minor knee surgery on Tuesday, Sean McVay told reporters.

McVay said Jefferson suffered a “little tweak” in his knee and will miss a few weeks. With just over a month to go until the season opener, his status for Week 1 is up in the air, too.

Overall, McVay said this is “positive news” on Jefferson. However, this will be the second knee procedure of the offseason for the wideout after having surgery to clean up a previous injury this spring.

Naturally, McVay not-so-subtly mentioned Odell Beckham Jr. as a potential replacement, even though Beckham is expected to miss several games due to his own knee injury. Beckham remains a free agent but there’s mutual interest from both parties about a return.

Normally the end result of a stretch the field guy is opening things up. But the Rams top two matchups in the pass game can get open easily no matter the defense. They don't need more space.

For taking schemed shots the Tutu's and Harris' of the world are there too. And it's not like Kupp & Robinson can't roast you deep if your safety gets lulled.
