Why would the Rams bring him in?
They already have two guys that struggle to read defenses and throw picks.....for much less money!!

I told my friends when he was drafted that he was a bust. He's worse than Kyler but has the same attitude, i.e. no work ethic. He doesn't put in the work to develop so he hasn't. He's still the one read I wanna run QB he always has been. Baker simply can't read defenses and DCs know it. They simply give him one presnap look and then change it and Baker is all DUHHHHH......

Roll with Perkins, because there were a couple of runs Wolford had that Perkins would have scored on. IMO had Perkins played instead of Wolford the Rams would have beaten the Hawks. Wolford is the definition of a JAG QB. People complain about Perkin's arm strength but Wolford's is worse. In practice Bryce floored the sideline when he hit Tutu on a 60 yd strike it was a dime going about 40 yds in the air. Look at all those passes that Wolford couldn't make and IMO Perkins would have.

McVay didn't do a good job in game planning for Perkins and he was behind the absolute worst version of the OL all season. This version of the OL is better with Skura doing his best Blythe impersonation. Nsekhe is a serviceable LT, and with Allen at C and Shelton at RG I think Perkins will play much better. Also his running threat must be accounted for. No one is afraid of Wolford running. Perkins is every bit as fast as Tutu.

IMO the Rams have found their #3 RB in Powell.
Just need someone to throw the ball for Perkins.

I'm on the fence here.

It's not as though picking him up, is going to save our season and catapult us into the playoffs.

On the other hand...why not see what he can do in McVays offense.

He's not a guy I would gamble our future on, but I would like to have him as our back up.

It would definitely make the remainder of the season interesting to watch.

Idk...maybe sign him..I guess

Why not, for 1.3 mil. That being said, I wonder if our Offense is too complex for him?

I'd be extremely interested if Mayfield is willing to be a clear backup to Stafford. I doubt he is. And he seems to bring a bit of a circus with him. But maybe the Rams get lucky and Baker has matured. Backup QB is one area the Rams can definitely improve at. Doing it without giving up assets would be huge. We lack a backup QB that can come in if injuries strike, actually make some throws as opposed to being an extreme game manager that makes you close your eyes every time he drops back, and be able to win several games in a row. Baker has done all of that in this league. Multiple times. And is still rather young. He has his flaws but would be a great #2 if he would ever accept that role. I am not so sure he would...

That is good news. Pick up Baker and ship Wolford to the waiver wire, where he will 100% go unclaimed - and for good reason. There is no chance Baker is worse then Wolf, and, with Stafford's health going forward in question, its possible McVay could turn Bakers career around and he could start some games for us next year. I'll certainly have more confidence in our QB room with Baker in for Noodle Arm.

If I'm Baker Mayfield, I'm hoping that the Rams make this move. While I suppose he could still believe he is auditioning for a starting role somewhere in 2023, he'd probably be better off as Stafford's understudy, learning McVay's system, with the hope of having a shot to take over when Stafford hangs it up. He is, after all, seven years younger than Stafford.

I would think Mayfield has a stronger arm than Wolford or Perkins. Then again, just about anyone not named Case Keenum probably has a stronger arm than those two.

I definitely think Baker could learn a lot from Stafford and maybe even mature behind him.

Typical low motor low work ethic player in the mold of Blake Bortles, but Bortles had a cannon. I think Mayfield was overdrafted but he still had first round talent. His career needs a reset. Spend a year as a backup. I'd take him as a QB2 next year, so bring him in now.

Wolford and Perkins aren't going to get it done. Wolford is quite embarrassing as a backup QB.

Worst back up in the league, I think, quite easily.

Broncos just released a player. Not a QB, but could they be making room for Baker?
