Sounds like we really just wasted 10 mil there thanks to the emergence of Xavier Smi
It's only a waste of money if Xavier were released to open up a spot for Tutu OR we didn't win the SB because that 10 mill didn't close a hole somewhere else
The moral of the story is don't draft 5-9" 165 lb WRs who can't play special teams. If the guy isn't an absolute star, he becomes a liability.
Only a liability if he causes the Rams to fall short.

On the comment, "Tutu didn't win that Indy game by himself, we can also thank A. Mitchell"....true. But the game was tied and Tutu took it 88 yards for the winning score with 1:33 left. It's not like he took it 88 yards in the 3rd quarter and Mitchell fumbled out of the end zone at the end of the 4th. Context. He couldn't control what Mitchell did, only what he did himself at the end.

No doubt that money probably wasn't well spent but we have some real issues with injuries and the numbers game these days making roster construction down the stretch a real issue.

And don't sign him to ten million dollar deal when his 4 years are up. Don't see them doing that again next year.

I also think that 10 mil is worth the win over the colts.

Truth. Carve that shit in stone.

Also extra points for proper use of moral instead of morale. I mean you are from Philly. :laugh3:

Nah, I am originally from rural PA, about 40 miles northwest of Philly.... So I take your comment as an insult. Then again, I guess I could have picked a better screen name.

These things happen...we avoid it better than most teams. We got Landman (or really even Ford) for steals, and we have so many young players on rookie deals. As a piece to the puzzle, Tutu has helped - and if you go back to when Puka missed time last year, he was able to be a focal point. So its almost more like a depth piece that we haven't really needed (albeit a rather expensive one), and then he got hurt
Yes the Rams do a good job but no matter what way you slice it, its a waste and overpay. Using last year to spend 10 mil on a scarcely used player is a terrible decision. McVay said he'd use him more, knew it wouldn't happen. McVay should have just admitted he messed up on Tutu being drafted where he was and moved on. We'll be doing this one year too late unfortunately.

They didn't have to resign him. But they did. So is it Tutu's fault or McVay, Snead
I lend towards the latter.

Gameplan to use him, since he's signed. But they don't and he's been injured since they started spreading the ball around.
So no clue if Stafford would look his way or not now.

I thought he'd be better at a team that would actually utilize him, Stafford or McVay don't.

Nah it's a waste when you pay a player that much and these are his stats....4 catches, 164 yards, and 1 TD while also having the head coach admit that he may not activate him from IR

All I have to say on this matter is, " I would rather have Tutu than Tavon and Tutu was a lower draft pick".

'

Not activating him is a slap in the face. Activate him, then cut him. Give him an injury settlement otherwise. So he can move on. I'm generalities, the way they are handling him is shit. I couldn't care either way if he's with us as a player at this point, that ship has sailed .

Ya it does look interesting, but that's the business of sports.... I say keep him around until the end of the season, then he can move on.

God forbid he goes to 9ers or the Seahaggs and he lines up against Forbes in a playoff game.... We might have to put Adams in to play DB because we have nobody on D that can keep up with him.... lol

41 ypr? That's insane.

Nah, this guy can't help the offense.

.

I've long had a hard time understanding why Tutu was drafted, and I have an even harder time understanding why they re-signed him this year. As I've said in the past, I don't hate the guy and think he has his uses, but McVay clearly doesn't want to use him.

That's one opinion. I'm more inclined to think a waste of money is paying Tre'Davious White 3.25 mil for 252 defensive snaps. That's about $13,000 per snap or 3/4 of a million per game. At least Tutu caught a pass that won a game.
