Ferg has missed a couple that he should have had, made a couple of nice 'go up and get it' type of catches, and has been missed by MS9 a couple of times.
It's time for him and Staff to put it all together and be that guy with 5-6 catches, 80-90 receiving yards and a TD on a regular basis.
Indeed. He's a rook so he's gonna fuck up. But he's also big as hell and he separates, so feed him a little. Maybe have a few plays schemed up for the game where you call his number assuming the pre-snap read is there.

As a receiver Tutu was slightly better than Tavon Austin. But, at least he wasn't a first round pick they traded up for. Still, the next pick after Tutu was Nick Bolton. One position of need at the time. A few picks later was Creed Humphrey. Another position of need. Heck, even Pete Werner woulda been a better choice.

Do we necessarily need Tutu at this point? Probably not.

Would it be nice to see him get involved and force defenses to respect his speed? Yes.

I am definitely surprised McVay doesn’t seem to want him apart of the offense but I don’t think him not being here is gonna slow us down on offense.

Regardless, it’s a shame. Seems like players like the dude.

Throwing out this random bit of psycho-babble: it might simply be a case of McVay wanting and intending to use Tutu in a certain way, but come game time, it just didn't/doesn't work out.

The DeSean Jackson time might've been an example of McVay wanting/intending to use a player in a certain way, but just not working out. Jackson was a big part of Sean's offense in Washington. I'm sure McVay said something to Jackson to get him to sign with LA. I don't think Sean lied. Jackson explained why he asked for the Rams to release him:
"For me, it was like the role I was presented almost didn't hold up," Jackson said. "And you got Cooper Kupp, he's going down the field and catching passes. So it's like my role in LA almost wasn't needed. ... For me, it was like I wasn't used to not being that guy. I was always that guy. . . . "

"The role I was presented almost didn't hold up" sounds like Sean's selling points didn't meet Jackson's expectations.

Another example - before Baker's first game with the Rams, they gave him a wristband of 45-75 plays to learn. I'm sure McVay wanted and intended to call some of those plays. As explained by Baker, McVay ended up calling ZERO of those plays.

McVay probably had TuTu re-signed, wanting and intending to use him in a certain way. The way the season has shaken out, with Davonte doing very well, the emergence of the 3-te set, with the improved running game, and improvement of other players, it's possible McVay's original tactical intentions on how and why to use Tutu might no longer apply.

Or not.

Stafford threw one of the passes during the Panthers game way too high and Ferg had it, but came down out of bounds. If 9 threw it maybe 2 feet lower, it would have been a huge play. Ferg will be a threat!

Nah man just discussing it. I tend to respond to everything so I tend to repeat stuff. If Tutu shit on my porch, I'd just go shit on his porch with it lit inside of the brown paperbag cuz I'm juvenile like that :laugh1:........by the way, just in case you missed it, signing Tutu was a waste :laugh1: :laugh2: ..... sorry couldn't resist

If Tutu shit on your porch you'd probably blame the neighbor's chihuahua.

McVay had a good explanation on his show this week. Atwell doesn’t have the versatility of Smith, they tried having him return punts and it was a disaster (my words not McVay’s).

Also Smith, Mumpfirld and Whittington all have some burst and the later two can play gunner.

The other players are making him expendable and that’s a good thing.

Ferguson looks big out there to me too, but according to our roster page he’s the smallest of the four.
