Obviously.
I think he’s good and gets the good out of the talent he has.
Rams blitz 2nd highest rate in NFL.
Yeah but they play 10 yards back on the blitzes

That's actually opposite of what you want to accomplish if you are being aggressive

If you blitz and stay 10 yards back, then you are basically hoping they only get 5 yards instead of possibly going for the kill and getting either a sack or interception.

No, it’s not.
It gives your defenders to have eyes on the QB more.. creating more chances for ints.
The big Deebo play was against that kind of D and if Kendrick were taller, he had a pick 6 maybe.

We can keep playing “what if.”

What we know is this defense is holding opponents to about 16 points and that’s very good.

We also know when Morris has a 4 man rush he can rely on, he’s happy to mix in tighter coverage.

We also know a lot of Ram fans are immune to these facts.

That's because if you can get to the QB especially rushing 4 your going to have people running everywhere behind you. I hate the 10 yds off too but it's because we can get to the QB. If we play with rushing 4 or 5 even worse but the games wouldn't be close and we haven't played the best offenses yet besides buffalo.

It's like playing a certain way in hockey like back in the day the trap so you can stay in the game especially with anemic offense.

Might be different if the offense was hitting on all cylinders and healthy then you could go score for score. Sadly we cannot so we almost need to dumb it down slow it up maximize our possessions and bend but don't break

Agree to disagree on what we consider aggressive and what makeup his players are.

I hope we don't go for Cooks. I need him to wind up in Green Bay for my fantasy team. Toney going to KC should help my pick up of wandale robinson. I need help at wr.

That's fine but I remember the Baltimore and Tampa Bay offenses were terrible in the early 2000s but because they played extremely aggressive defenses, they were able to win the majority of the games.

With Ramsey Wagner and Donald, I truly believe we can be more aggressive like Tampa and Baltimore were. You couldn't move your offenses against those defenses.

Now you can disagree that we don't have the players for those types of defense but I truly believe we can with the players we have in place. Maybe I have too high of an opinion on our players << and that is the crux of our differences.

We can go back and forth about how we are keeping other teams from scoring more than 16 points a game but it all comes down to do we have the players to implement a much more aggressive defense like Baltimore and Tampa in the 2000s. I think we do. Kupp doesn't.

You make an excellent argument-- I never thought of it that way - I think maybe the Rams do have the talent level to match Baltimore's 2000 defense.

I've also read that the Rams were interested in Cooks. Why? I have always liked him as a receiver, but they already have Kupp, Robinson, Van Jefferson, Skow, Powell, McCutcheon, and Tutu. Doesn't make any sense to me unless it is a smokescreen.
Yeah to my eye, Cooks is just a feistier Van Jefferson. You’ve got to throw perfect balls to these guys for the most part. I like Cooks more than Van but the concussions are worrisome.

Look, I get Williams looked good in practice but he hasn't played one single down in a real game. Definitely a gamble if we don't add to our RB room given that he's already had 2 injuries and Hendo is always an injury waiting to happen. We have so many needs thanks to injuries and things not working out this year.

Now just one god…….damn……..mutha fuckin minute! Injured……my……ass! If fuckin Cam didn’t turn into some pussy ass mutha fucker and learned how to block my ass wouldn’t have to play more than 15 snaps a game and get an ass whoopin!!

And the reason I missed practice the other day wasn’t because I was hurt……it’s because some punk…..ass mother……fuckers hid my god….damn…….helmet! Otherwise I’d be out on the practice field running over Aaron Donald like a mutha……fucking 18-wheeler. Even though that smart ass fucker had the nerve to tell me that if a raindrop hit me I would fucking disintegrate! That’s some smart ass shit!

I’ll bring my wheelchair and see YOU mother fuckers on Sunday!!

Not like that pussy ass, crybaby Deebo. That mutha fucker ain’t….got….nothing wrong with that leg. He just got Nick Scott…..itis!!

5th best win rate and bottom 10 in sacks, pressures and interceptions - pretty much confirms my thoughts about how QBs are getting the ball out quicker against the Rams due to the soft zone defense
Acording to Morris the pass rush isnt good enough to play tight coverage. Sounds to me like he just doesnt like that kind of D.

yeah I hope we pass on Cooks. No thank you. If we were to go after a receiver I’d almost prefer to really go for one like Jerry Jeudy. He’d eat in this offense.

There’s an easy answer to that.

No, we don’t.

Heck.. other than Donald & Ramsey.. which Rams defensive starters would be starters on the Niners?
If we’re being honest, probably none.
Best argument would be Jones/Greenlaw.

I think because writers just add us in unless it comes from us and it is a smokescreen for OBJ. But that would make no sense he is in no rush to sign and will wait till after the trade deadline so we will show our hand by Tuesday.

I have always like Cooks but there is only so many balls to go around so no on Cooks we want a wr we get OBJ at no trade cost let's see how Van is planning out.

Not every player was great on the Tampa Defense and Baltimore Defense but I believe overall we have comparable players especially since we have possibly the greatest DT's ever and one of the best CBs ever and a hall of fame LB that makes up for his lack of speed with sure tackles and heady play. We are going to have to agree to disagree on this.

If you want to have debates about subjects other than the thread title would you please start a new thread for such debates so for those of us who are impatiently checking for updates on possible Ram trades don’t have to be subjected to your quarrels?
