That is entirely too much for Brian burns. But I like the player

That's exactly what you'd have to outpay other teams for Burns. Brian Burns is a twenty-four-year-old elite pass rusher; you pay through the nose for those, and you have to outpay other teams for him as well.

Here's what I would do:

2023 second round pick, 2024 first round pick, 2025 first round pick, 2025 fourth round pick, Chatarius Atwell, and Taylor Rapp to the Carolina Panthers for Brian Burns.

2023 sixth round pick to the Cleveland Browns for D'Ernest Johnson.

2023 seventh round pick to the Mnnesota Vikings for Oli Udoh.

Cam Akers and 2024 sixth round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for Andre Dillard.

Is that a lot of trades? Sure, but they're trades that make sense.

I might try to alter the burns deal a bit .. it's either the 2 firsts or one first the second and another second something like that. Other than that yes I would do those I'm a heartbeat .
Because the picks your trade there are for relatively young players that's like an entire drafting of players.

You don’t understand value?

Maybe a basic Econ course.

This is how it works. Someone makes a statement. You either agree or disagree with that statement.

You don’t disagree with the original statement then redirect it into a totally different point and say the original statement is wrong based on your unrelated/ related point.

Hence the original statement had zero to do with the value of draft picks.

You are arguing about an entirely different topic to avoid being wrong. SMH.

The original statement was the 6th round is Snead’s least successful.

Haven’t changed the topic once. You’re the one who brought in ratio.. I brought in value.

Or maybe if no one is biting a 24 1st and a 23 2nd would satisfy but yeah that's pretty hefty for us.

Burns is certainly intriguing however it isn't our defense that is directly keeping us from winning. Yes in the playoffs we would greatly benefit from edge help and it can be argued that an upgrade is mandatory. Right now as we stand we don't have a playoff caliber offense, hopefully the returning players help and they will, how much is TBD.
O.L help or a dynamic offensive player seems to be the approach, O.L is difficult mid season and there aren't many dynamic RB's available.

If I can sign him to an extension sure I'm in. If not that's way to much for a year and a half rental.
Agreed. But I don't see us winning the bid on this one. Would love to be wrong though.

Also will add that I hope the Rams are also calling the Redskins for Sweat just in case the bidding gets outta control.

What I would do is offer next year's 2nd rounder, and the following year's 1st rounder, as well as their choice of some highly picked non-difference-makers like Rapp, Tutu, etc. for him. But that won't be enough.

Once we get through this season though that 2nd rounder can be bumped into edge rusher range by using the next year's first rounder if necessary. And that is where Jackson filling LT could be a real saver, as not needing to worry about what we're going to do with LT takes a lot of pressure off.

Then you go get a couple OL with those 6th rounders to replenish the pipeline. Plus we have Bruss returning and hopefully making a year two jump.

So... To get there I would go budget with a RB trade right now and get this offense the piece it has needed for so long on the ground. Hunt > Montgomery > Gibson > etc just go down the list. We don't need CMC to make this offense go. We just need a real ground threat who can be there for the offense. Then I would look for a Fowler type edge addition and hopefully when done with those two moves I still have that 2nd round pick.

As they should be. Burns is a really good young player. But he’s not worth 2 FRPs. I’m ok sending out two FRPs, but it needs to be a true difference maker like Jalen. Rams have limited assets to deal - you need to use them wisely.

Burns would essentially be our Von Miller replacement if we get him. Offensive line help isn't coming in the form of a trade, but our injured lineman getting healthy. If we get him, I still want Hunt or Jacobs although we may not have that ammo. Chances are we'll go after D'Ernest Jones or Antonio Gibson which is fine by me as well.

I agree there. I don't see them getting 2 first round picks as that defensive player has to be like a game wrecker type. Let's see what they get as I think Carolina is full of shit since Burns will command a big ass contract and they are rebuilding.

Yes and I do like his game but I think this is going to be a bidding deal and what we did with Von last season ensures someone will get crazy.

Rams need to flip the script and go a different direction with something that is being undervalued. Like some of these RB options. :laugh3:
