I want to see how all these current mostly young Rams develop. Win or lose it's about watching their progress toward next year. Then to Rams have draft capital and cap space to make another run at a Chip.

If this team is 2-6 after the Dallas game, which is only 2 days before the trade deadline, I think there is more than a 50% chance Stafford restructures his deal and they move him.

Now—that is working under the premise that some other potential playoff team is desperate for QB help. Like if Tua doesn’t stay healthy, or Russ doesn’t work out in Denver, or Jordan Love ends up sucking. If all the playoff teams appear set at QB, than they might hold onto him. But if Miami or someone like that wants to send a handful of day 2 picks for him, I bet Snead does it.

I’ll bet you a million pesos he doesn’t. Besides any restructuring would still leave the Rams with a mountain of dead cap because they backloaded the contract. You actually think Kelly Stafford would allow Matt to give the Rams back money he’s already earned just to play for another team. I have some swamplands on the Florida coast that would be perfect for a beach house.

Stafford’s already made $330M in the NFL. If Les Snead said “hey, you can be our QB for the next 2 years when we are kinda rebuilding and make $80M, or you can play for “x” team that has deep playoff potential and make $55M”….I think Stafford might do it.

Stafford can play for free if he wants. That’s doesn’t help the rams who will take a dead cap hit for the money he’s already been paid. It can’t be restructured

8 of our 11 defensive starters are either rookies, drafted 6th round or later, or weren’t drafted at all. Maybe we get lucky and 3 or 4 of those guys pop, and we have something cooking. But if those guys turn out like most 6th round picks and undrafted players, this defense is going to give up points like it’s getting paid to.

Oversimplification I think. This defense has more quality to it than 3 of 11 spots. They're gonna do one thing very badly, that being run defense. But they might outperform expectations vs the pass.

And the pass is what kills you in this league. So we're going to find out if the Rams' tactical building of a defense is good enough to prove a lot of people wrong. I would love nothing more than to eat crow on that.

Agree. It's one thing to not care about the salary cap implications. That's OK. However, it's foolish to just assume there are no negative implications.

I am still in the boat of trading Donald to Steelers, and start rebuilding. If the Rams aren’t serious on winning then its best to trade Donald to his team and get a lot out of it so we can start the process. Kupp I am hoping will last a few more season but at this point that is asking way too much. Hoping for the best though.

Its hard not to feel the negative vibes. Last year the injury bug hit early and often. Basically took them out of any chance to compete. We haven't even played our first game and one of the few stars we have is out with an injury. I hope it isn't going to be deja vu all over again.

Regardless of their record this year if they were going to strip down to nuts and bolts and rebuild they would have done it this year. They would have tried to trade Stafford who would have retired. They can't trade AD for one simple fact....a fact that apparently the media doesn't seem to know....AD has a no trade clause in his contract. He will retire before he's traded. So the Rams would have a mountain of deadcap and no players....yep really smart.

Guys like Puka, E. Evans, Avila, Tomlinson, Shelley and Dotson, are genuine weapons. Akers probably will run for 1K yds behind the improved and BIG OL. Jefferson has proved hes an underrated WR, and Atwell looks to have a breakout year. We haven't even talked about Stafford who is now healthy or Durant who more than flashed last year.

Get a grip dude, if even half the draft class shows they can play in the NFL, this team will have the foundation for next year's draft, exactly the way Snead and McVay have planned it. Before the 2021 season how many of these same gloom and doom media types panned the Ram's chances? How many saw a Lombardi in the future? I did and my posts will show it. People mocked me for saying it was a championship roster. Now I'm saying this roster is a lot better than the no nothing media think. Once they start to roll on both sides of the ball, this is a team that can compete with anyone and better than most.

Quit believing in PFF who have already proven they don't know shit. Where do you think the no nothings get their info from? The Bills were media darlings last year just like the Niners are each year. Like the Niners, Buffalo makes it to the playoffs but that's about as far as they get. Their window like the Niners is closing fast as their roster ages.

I think starting next year this OL has the potential of being one of the best the Rams have had in a long time. That alone bodes well for the team going forward.

The 6 game start to the season was brutal with or without Kupp. We have a lot of new faces and it will likely take time.
I may not always be happy with the outcome but I am looking forward to enjoying some Ram football and seeing some of these youngsters step up,

We should've traded him in the off-season. Now another year older with literally no talent around him and a questionable secondary, his production will continue to drop.

Honestly I think it was a conscious decision by the front office to save face with the fans so we can sell tickets. A complete tear down and rebuild barely a year after winning the SB would be terrible optics for the franchise.

Snead has repeated often that MS and CK and AD are the "weight bearing walls." Even if the Rams have a terrible season in 2023, I'd anticipate they keep all 3 of their "pillars" for 2024.

All teams are 0-0 right now. The truth is we have absolutely no idea how the team is going to perform. None of us are at practice every day to see what the team actually looks like. From all accounts we were at least on par with the raiders and looked better than the broncos in the joint practices.
