I believe we have elite coaching, culture, and attractiveness to players (L.A., culture). (I've personally downgraded my faith in our talent evaluation a tad lately.) I think our cap health will allow us to bring in some help and shore things up for next season, so hopefully our Big 3 can hold on for a year vitality-wise.
Agree there. I think this year is seeing who shows up to be part of our immediate future because this front office has shown they'll go after proven talent when they have the cap to do so. I personally hope more than a few youngsters show out so the Rams have less roster holes to fill.

I will be very surprised if they don’t!
You’re talking a long ways from now! Things in The NFL change quickly. Either way be surprised.

Like a birthday party if you have good friends or people that care.
Maybe you’ll be surprised that they don’t.As far as Rams Fans go I’m never really surprised, but then again this season ticket hold saying Owner is conspiring.
Wtf ?

If they are gonna make another run with the 3 stars as the core, its gonna have to be real soon. How much longer can Donald play at an elite level? Stafford is 35. For all we know Kupp could be starting to break down. They relied heavily on him for a year and a half. They can't be realistically thinking this is a 2 or 3 year rebuild.
Yeah - The Rams are in it to win it & see how far away they are imo.
Kevin Demoff,Les Snead & Mcvay like the foundation of this team. The Rams TE group might to THE BEST GROUP EVER!!
Demarco Farr goes soft hands really softly on his show talking about Hunter Long.Brycen Hopkins is looking for a Bug Contract & Davies Allen is what you saw in the preseason. 7 passed 7 catches & a big body.

Listening to Ernest Jones & Fuller on being team captains really helps give a visual to myself on how this team will compete.
—My prediction is Ernest Jones becomes a All Pro 2023 & leads The Rams in tackles. The defensive Line will control the line of scrimmage & Jones will be filling in the holes. He’s bulk up to handle it.
Fuller is a player who helps the defense support & get The Rams defense off the field on 3rd downs.

You get more cap flexibility and more draft picks.

If this team is 1-5, and Tua just got his 2nd concussion of the season, and the Dolphins are willing to send 2 second round and a third round pick for Stafford…it would be hard for Snead to say no.
Snead gave up two firsts and a SB quarterback to get Stafford. And he'll give him away for a 3rd and a 5th. That's how "Trader Les" rolls.

I think it would actually be LESS cap flexibility. Need to consider the guaranteed-$ already paid and the Dead-$ impact resulting from not being able to spread-out the cap hit. Spotrac and Over-the-Cap provide good breakdowns and details.

The main problem is the sheer amount of "IFs" with this year's team.

IF the OL can stay healthy. IF Stafford can get through a season behind them. IF Van or Tutu or anyone else can step up with Kupp out. IF Akers can produce consistently and also avoid another injury. IF Donald can make up for the lack of quality around him on the DL. IF our young corners can show quickly. IF Johnson's still got it. IF special teams can not be a steaming pile of excrement. IF, IF, IF, IF, IF...

Generally speaking your IFs in any given season are not all gonna come up heads for you. Some are gonna be tails. Plus we had a season where all that happened for us (1999) and you'd think you're only gonna get one of those in a lifetime. This is why I am hopeful but recognize we're not a contender this year. We're a playoff hopeful. And that's fine, given that this is a rebuild. Most teams in a rebuild don't have a chance to do jack shit.

Les Snead had neither the time nor the inclination to explain himself to a man who rises and sleeps under a championship banner he gave our fanbase, then questions the manner in which he provided it. He’d rather you just say “thank you.”

Sorry if you can’t handle the truth.

Rams don’t really have any prospects on their roster. Outside Stafford, Kupp and Donald there isn’t much unless some random young players step up beyond expectations. By the way, those young players may be young but they’re not heralded. Kupp is now out. Van Jefferson the number 1? For real? Team is already down to the studs. Keep expectations very low.

Doesn’t that apply to every team?

IF Mahomes stays healthy.. IF Andy Reid isn’t eaten by a starving polar bear.. etc
Not really, no. Not unless you're getting your sperg on. In which case I'll let you rock back and forth and have a great time, more power to you.

You know what? Why don't we just wait and see how they play against a quality opponent before people get hysterical? Offensively there is only one if and what if the OL plays well? IMO the offense will rock this year.

On defense the only question is how Morris is going to play the defense. If they continue his frightened uber soft style this will be a long fruitless defense and the players will get the blame for their DC playing scared. Morris is all bluster and no guts.

On defense it's not so much the players but how they are played. On offense its how long will it take for the OL to gel as a unit. I don't get where this hysteria is coming from when the team hasn't even played a game. Sorry, but these hysterical threads at this point annoy me.

With the brutal first half schedule, and Kupp possibly missing 4 games, and having the youngest team in the league…it’s not hard to see this team starting 1-5 or 2-6, and ultimately deciding to completely blow it up and start fresh. Stafford getting dealt before the 10/31 deadline feels like a very real possibility. Ben Solak mentioned this on his pod today and now that the Kupp news is official it doesn’t seem far fetched at all.

Only way this doesn’t happen is if some of the rookies pop and we start the season 4-2, 3-3, or something. But if we are 1-5, I cannot see them sending Stafford and Kupp out there every week on their way to a 5-12 finish. Especially if Stafford looks as good as all the training camp reports have suggested. If he is healthy, teams will want him and the Rams would be stupid not to get something for him.

Fortunately, I dont feel Pete Carroll has prepared his team for this 1st game well.

Im betting this is the trap game, that the Seahawks should roll, but with too many upsets with the Chiefs and Crimson Tide already, the karmic strings have already been put in place for the weekend.

The Seahawks get caught looking ahead of the Rams and lose this game that they shouldnt have.

This has all the hallmarks of an upset weekend--- watch.

I don't consider it "hysterical" to take a clear-eyed look at the team you root for, and prefer to think long term. If the absolute best case scenario, realistically, is 5-6 wins, why NOT consider "blowing it up" and trading aging assets for future picks to help the inevitable rebuild? I mean, just 2 more losses puts you at 3-13, with a chance to add a legit game-changing qb, who also comes with a 5 year rookie deal? How is this a bad plan?
