The most obvious answer is usually the right one. Gurley’s knee is injured. They can’t come out and say “oh his knee was injured” because the team would get fined for not diclosing the injury. Why lie in the first place? To get teams to game plan around a player who will play sparingly...catching them off guard in a sense.

I see him quietly getting work done on the knee this off season.

Why the chill? I was questioning the assertion of AIDS being inferred as a reason for Gurley's inaction.

Just hope he can come back close to or at 100%. He's so important to this offense and with him and Kupp in the line up the offense looks unstoppable. I hope if CJ leaves that we can draft a power back to give Gurley rest and change it up on defenses.

Lmao. If this is another AIDS rumour, I swear... people need to get a grip. Anything is possible. See: Magic Johnson. But why do AIDS rumours always have to start when a star is missing from the lineup or under performing. See: Everson Griffen for the Vikings this year. Ridiculous.

I was guessing tendinitis.
That was my initial fear when they announced his injury. A diagnosis similar to Jumper's Knee or Osgood Schlatter would be devastating.

I really hate Occam's razor. The simplest answer is highly subjective and very dependent on circumstances.

In any case, I think you're correct here.

I think this is probably the right answer.

I suppose Gurley at 70% was still considered a weapon worth keeping in the arsenal. Whatever the ailment the right opportunities failed to materialize in the last 2 games.

It sucks that we essentially lost both him and Kupp.

Yeah, really. We were minus two of our bigger playmakers from early in the year.

All teams deal with injuries. Because Gurley was active, the absence of these two wasn’t as clear to the average fan.

I remember Faulk going through issues like this...he'd get the scar tissue from previous surgeries cleaned out occasionally and he'd be good to go....and I think previous posters have nailed the conspiracy angle...the Rams failed disclose it and now they basically have to keep saying he's OK or risk punishment, whatever it is the NFL can do...Sucks for Todd....basically having his character questioned every frigging week....All bet in hindsight the Rams wish they'd handled it differently
