That's maybe the biggest loss we've taken this year...and that's sayin' somethin'

So do we get a comp pick for this?
I'm not a fan of the system, but let's use it to our advantage if we can.

Unfortunately, no. The Panthers may get picks if Brown gets a HC job in a couple years.

Has Thomas Brown called plays before?
He hasn't. I'm guessing that Frank Reich will call the plays in Carolina as well, at least to start. Here's his quote on it:

“As far as calling plays, I’m gonna wait to see that we get the offensive staff together,” Reich said, via Anthony Rizzuti of USAToday.com. “Obviously, I’ve always enjoyed doing that. I’ve had a good bit of success doing that and enjoy doing that. It feels to me there’s a little bit of a trend going away from that. I wanna continue to reexamine that, and it just depends on how the staff comes together. And the coordinator thing, I’m excited about — the prospects of some of the guys that are out there that could be our offensive coordinator. So, I’ll wait to make the final decision on that.”

Well, that sucks. We're going to have to find a competent running back coach and a tight end coach now. As much flak as Brown got, he still revitalized the running back room.

McVay’s Rams…
We go 5-12 and our staff still gets poached

Rams hired Nick Caley a couple weeks ago to coach the Tight Ends.

Well, just to keep things in perspective, Brown has proven to be an outstanding RB coach, but when given the opportunity to expand his horizons into the TE area he kinda underwhelmed.

What to conclude? Not sure, but maybe he’s not quite ready yet for the bigger picture required of an OC?

Maybe McVay already knew that?

Didn’t Higbey just have his best year? How much better could Brown have done with what he had to work with in the TE room?
