Rams only won by 3 points. If they start losing by 3 points I wonder if McVay sticks to limiting TG's carries? I'm thinking he won't. Then if injury occurs they are back to where they were last December and on it goes.

It may be clickbait... but until someone actually says something to dispel it - it will continue.

But it won't, because it's true (to what extent isn't truly known).

Attitudes in this thread would change dramatically if Malcom Brown fails to convert

Every single one of you would be asking why Gurley wasn’t not in there if Brown got stuffed.

Without questioning his health, it is FAIR to be ponderous about our goal line sniffing, Touchdown making, All Pro running back not in during two key red zone visits.

Homerism and hopium running rampant here guys. What makes it bad to me though, is how ya’ll act like it’s a freakin crime to even question these events and take everything so far over the top with your emphatic defense that nothing is wrong.

Saving Gurley lol. Ok bubba! Because now Brown is the touchdown maker around here

He did look great to me though. I thought he looked pretty spry!

I was a little worried why TGII wasn't getting a lot of work until later in the game. When Brown made runs where he refused to go down it was easier to take Gurley sitting out but, it was concerning. Now, that I saw Todd run great in the 4th quarter I was very relieved.

Gurley has seemed very honest in all his interview/press conferences. Always a pleasure to listen to his answers. I have no problem if he wants to be a little brief with the media asking the same questions over and over about his knee. The media has to ask some questions because of how his season ended last year. McVay should get questions about playing time. He had a plan for his playing time. The press has to ask some questions as not everyone gets to see the game. I expect this to be more of how we see TGII used. It could be he plays a little more when it's not as hot and humid.

During the halftime Gonzales said he thought something was up with TG cuz the Rans weren't playing him.

In the 3rd qtr TG rips one off for about 27 yds... and by games end he had 97 yds on about 14 carrie's or more.

I guess something was wrong with the Panther defense after that...:D

Yo, did you actually watch the game yesterday? They didn't just bring Brown in to vulture goal-line work away from Gurley. They gave Brown 2 complete series with the offense in which the offense happened to score on both drives. Stop acting like Gurley was in the entire drive and they purposefully pulled him so Brown could get the touchdowns. That's not what happened.

McVay could easily say "Todd has been a workhorse for 4 straight years and we don't want to shorten his career by continuing to do that so we are easing up a little bit. We want him to be around for a long time".

The questions would stop or at least be reduced dramatically.

he's pretty much said this multiple times. that they have a plan for gurley to manage his touches and keep him healthy for the playoffs. multiple times.

the questions didn't stop or reduce dramatically. they got stupider.

here are the jerks from rotoworld chiming in. apparently he didn't seem pleased about his usage. that's what these fuckwits got out of his curt responses to the dumb questions the journalists were asking him, trying to bait him into saying he wasn't happy with his usage.

their all fucking clowns.

When asked how he felt about splitting carries with Malcolm Brown in Sunday's Week 1 victory over the Panthers, Todd Gurley said, "Felt good."

Gurley led the Rams with 103 yards from scrimmage in Sunday's season-opening win at Carolina but didn't seem particularly pleased about his usage, logging just 15 touches to Malcolm Brown's 11. While it may be jarring to see Gurley—a three-time All-Pro selection and one of the league's highest earners at his position—reduced to a committee role, Sunday's split was consistent with how the Rams employed him during last year's postseason. Maybe that's for the best given Gurley's chronic knee issues, which led to him taking a backseat to C.J. Anderson down the stretch last year. Even if it wasn't the workload he anticipated, Gurley was extremely efficient against the Panthers, cruising to a healthy 6.9 yards per carry in the winning effort. Assuming the Rams continue to use him in tandem with Brown, Touchdown Todd is probably best viewed as an RB2 going forward.

I'm simply pointing out that reporters asking questions is what they are supposed to do. I don't get why people are angry with them for doing that.

People want to believe that his knee is fine and there is nothing wrong and that yesterdays game is proof of that. And that nobody should question him on the knee issue.

Gurley could change the narrative TODAY by answering the questions. McVay could also.

They've gone out of their way to avoid discussing it, this is going to create conjecture and bring up questions until they address it.

He said to the media that Gurley wasn't on a pitch count but then he gets 15 touches and is sidelined for big parts of the game.

That's gonna make people ask questions.

He HAS answered the questions! He's repeatedly said his knee is fine, which it currently is. They are reducing his touches early in the year to make sure he doesn't get worn down at the end of the season. McVay has already said as much. In no way does that indicate a problem, it means they've overworked the hell out of him the past 3 years and they need to back off if they want him to be in the best shape down the stretch and for his long term career.

And there is nothing wrong with asking questions or being skeptical. I strongly encourage it. But some of you don't seem to think this applies to the media coverage itself. I'm not some Trump supporter out here claiming all the media is a lie. What I'm saying is sports media is driven by money and more clicks generates more money. If an NFL superstar has an issue that needs constant coverage every week that's more valuable to them than saying, "Yep. Gurley looks good." Because that's a one-time answer that doesn't generate more revenue. This isn't a hard concept to understand.

McVay did say Gurley wasn't going to be used like he had in the past. They admitted to overworking him and they don't want a repeat of last year.

If the Rams can run the ball and score rushing TDs without Gurley, they're just that much better a team for it.

really?

i'm pretty sure everyone here has come to terms that he has arthritis in his knee. but we've also come to terms that the rams will limit his usage to preserve his health. which was exactly what happened yesterday.

then the dumbo journalits needle him like it was a shock he didn't get 25 touches. they can fuck off.

Most of this is coming from fan over reactions on the internet.

The media asking a direct question about an athletes medical condition or health when there is known issue is pretty basic interview stuff.

He HAS answered the questions! He's repeatedly said his knee is fine, which it currently is.

It was fine yesterday, but it's an arthritic knee. Next week could be totally different as we know. It's fair game to ask about it.

Your message is built on a false narrative but whatever you say...

And you were clearly insinuating that Brown was gonna be used as more of the goal-line back so don't act like I put words in your mouth either. Perhaps you should choose your words more carefully.

They’re a prime example of what’s wrong in this issue. They’re fantasy sports focused. They and fantasy players, of which I one, are the ones creating the problem.
