I don't think enough people appreciate the difference in coaching men who are working for a living and college kids. The difference in the power dynamic is profound and coaches have to continuously earn their players' respect and show they have as much commitment to the program that they're asking the players to.

I'll also add on to this: he flat-out lied by saying that he went there to spend his time with his family. His wife was watching the grandkids at home.

Meyer's family, the Jaguars roster (especially Lawrence) and Jaguars fans who didn't like this hire are the only ones I feel truly sorry. Jacksonville's ownership made their own bed when they hired him; he's been a scumbag ever since his days at Florida, if not longer. Meyer deserves to be raked over the coals. And the foolish fans who thought that this hire would catapult them forward deserve only scorn and mockery.
