It looks like the powers-that-be twisted a few arms:

Most construction has been deemed essential from what I can tell. My buddy has continued his work and all he's working on are some IBM office buildings.

Construction at stadium for L.A. Rams, Chargers continues after positive coronavirus test

INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Construction continues at SoFi Stadium, being built for the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, after a worker tested positive for COVID-19, a spokesman for the construction firm overseeing work at the site, told USA TODAY Sports on Sunday.

The worker was assigned to an isolated area outside the building and had not at any time entered the building or used any of its common areas, said Chris McFadden, vice president of communications for Turner Construction Company.

“First and most importantly, the worker is doing well, receiving care and is recovering," McFadden said by email. “The safety of the people on site and in our community remains our top priority."

All equipment that may have been used by the worker is being disinfected and workers who were in contact with the individual have been identified and contacted, according to McFadden.

The 70,000-seat stadium, being built at a cost of more than $2 billion, is scheduled to open July 25, which would allow the Rams and Chargers to move into their new home for the 2020 NFL season.

Last week, the construction company in charge of the Raiders' new stadium in Las Vegas said a worker on the site had tested positive for COVID-19. The construction work has continued during the coronavirus pandemic.

McFadden said workers who may have been exposed are “minimal" because of protocols and the nature of the worker’s assignment that took place in a material pre-assembly area outside the building.

McFadden said those who were in “close contact" are in self-quarantine, while those in “casual contact" are self-monitoring, “in accordance with our protocols, LA County Department of Health directives, and CDC guidelines."

Another construction worker who requested anonymity told USA TODAY Sports he was not maintaining six feet of separation from co-workers despite protocols that call for such social distancing.

“These guys are like my brothers," he said when asked why he was not adhering to the protocol. “I see them more than my wife."

McFadden said that project protocols strictly enforce social distancing.

“This includes limiting access to the personnel hoist, no gatherings over 10 people, and those must maintain six-foot separation, and certain tasks that require close contact are suspended or re-sequenced," he said.

If you like bad music (like college player highlights on youtube), and you like a panoramic shot of the stadium from afar - this video is for you.
That was by far the most boring update video yet. Couldn't even watch it all.

Man. A picture would have done just fine.

Progress appears so slow right now.

I am waiting to share more pictures when they complete the roof panels. It is fun to look at in person but trust me, you would think I would be showing the same picture.

After that I am hoping they start working on the landscape and the rest of the entertainment center.

I am also going to make a movie from beginning to end from my point of view.

Another "Rank Amature" production. :D

At least one of the big crawler cranes is back in action today.

This isn’t the first time I’ve felt that SoFi looks like a crashed spaceship...

I sure hope Stan Kroenke doesn't go broke. I'm sure the service on his debt has got to be pretty substantial. Without stadium operations, where's he going to get the money?

Construction continues at SoFi Stadium, even as positive coronavirus cases have popped up at the site. And Rams COO Kevin Demoff continues to be optimistic that the stadium will be completed in time, even as he acknowledges the possibility that may not happen.

“This is not the time you want to be finishing a stadium, in this environment as you prepare,” Demoff said, via Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times. “Because it’s when you need to be all hands on deck, walking through the building every day, meeting with your staff, working out the kinks and planning for it. So when you’ve been building something for a few years, you would love an optimal environment to finish it.”

The environment is anything but optimal for finishing the stadium in time for its July 25 opening, a Taylor Swift concert, followed by the 2020 preseasons and regular seasons for the Rams and Chargers.

“Our stadium, and I believe the Raiders’ stadium as well, will both be amazing when they are finished and when they will begin play, which will certainly happen in the near future, whether that’s in July, August, September, [or] in 2021,” Demoff said. “I don’t think you can look at either of these stadiums as short-term projects to finish but rather long-term beacons for the franchises and for the NFL.”

He’s right, but if the stadiums aren’t ready and if the Rams, Chargers, and Raiders will be playing games in 2020, they’ll need to make other arrangements. Which could be the least of the problems the NFL may be dealing with as this craziest of years continues.

Man, yeah I can’t wait to see the finished product. Sucks it was unable to open in 2019.

It seems the only way to imagine large stadium crowds in 2020 is an effective treatment and instant test. A vaccine by then seems a stretch based on what they say.

Those thoughts have occurred to me as well. One year!

It sounds like a vaccine is an impossibility for at least a year. I am confident that by this September we will have testing for an immunity and a safe anti-viral that may allow our games.

My only concern is about a second wave they say are common with this type of virus. I have no guess of what they may be like and the measures that will be taken. So much info out there it is hard to keep some of it straight but I believe the second wave could start late summer/early fall.

If there is one.

I can start saving all my cans and bottles if that will help.
