It's disgusting, really. Happened just recently up here in Canada too, during the World Junior Hockey Championships. Nineteen year old - nineteen! - Maxime Comtois missed a penalty shot in overtime, and Canada ultimately lost and was eliminated. People were sending him messages hoping that he catches AIDS, and that they're going to hunt him down.

You crazy Canadians need to stop allowing yourself to be influenced by the Great Satan to the south. Get back to being your relaxed and beer drinkin selves...

Gentlemen this should not be shocking, it's always happened, you just now see far more often because of social media and cowards hiding behind their twitter, Instagram for Facebook profile.

But some markets or areas are worse than others. Like I said we didn't see this out of Rams fans. It's seemingly acceptable behavior to certain fanbases and I find it to be disturbing.

If I had a family member that did this kind of thing I'd have a serious talk with them about seeking counseling LOL.

You guys do realize that a World Cup player from Columbia was actually hunted down and killed (while taking out his trash at home) by his countrymen after accidently scoring an own goal, thereby eliminating his team?

Ya so i'm thinking a few Chicago fans speaking and tweeting "harshly" about thier kicker aint so bad in comparison.

but twitter aggression can almost be murderous!

I blame Mack for not getting enough sacks, and I blame the O for not scoring enough points to put them in a comfortable spot... F Chi town fans.

Sports is important to all of us and that's why if you experiences a tough loss in post season with one of your teams (I root for the Dodgers, so this is routine) I always take the family out to a nice dinner or with friends, who don't follow sports and converse about the fine arts, which then reminds me on how glad I'm into sports.

NFL officially changes Cody Parkey’s missed field goal to a block
Posted by Charean Williams on January 7, 2019

It won’t make Bears fans feel any better . . . or Cody Parkey for that matter. But the NFL officially changed Parkey’s 43-yard, game-winning attempt to a blocked field goal.

No one mentioned Parkey’s kick being blocked until postgame interviews when Eagles defensive lineman Treyvon Hester revealed he tipped the ball. It began a social media debate about whether Hester really touched the ball, with a “Zapruder film” type of frame-by-frame video of the kick.

The NFL, though, has made the change on its Game Statistics & Information System site. In the play by play from the game, it now lists the play as:

4-2-PHI 25 (:10) (Field Goal formation) C.Parkey 43 yard field goal is BLOCKED (T.Hester), Center-P.Scales, Holder-P.O’Donnell.

So it’s official: Hester blocked Parkey’s kick. Now, everyone can debate whether Hester’s tip was the reason Hester missed the kick, but the NFL apparently saw enough that it thinks Hester was the reason for Parkey’s miss.

Some people are so rude and negative on social media, I can't hardly use it any longer.

Shame.
Totally agree. People are really starting to show their ass on FB and Twitter... . especially post election. I had to unfollow a few of my in laws because their racism was showing..... And I never would have guessed that prior. Sad. FB is a cesspool that I very rarely even sign into anymore.

...not to mention the play in Q1 where they didn't get the first down, or when the WR dropped the ball in Q2, or when the opposition completed that pass in Q3...I could go on and on. You get the point.
EVERY play counts in a game...not just the last one.
If the Bears would have been up by 30 points, that kick wouldn't have mattered. Why weren't they up by 30?
Because the rest of the team failed during the previous 59 minutes and 59 seconds.

Let’s not forget the Bears D and all their stupid penalties which extended the Eagles drives, which in turn ended up as Eagles points.

No, blame the highest points scorer on the team for the loss.

Fucking idiots.

I’m proud of how much we appreciate Zuerlein and Hekker. They both contribute a ton, and do a shitload more good than bad for our team.

Usually sound advice, but the beer didn’t relax too many hosers in Vancouver after the Canucks lost Game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup.

Would it then have been listed as tipped in stead of blocked if it made it? Dunno.

So what if it was tipped. He should have kicked it with a higher arc to avoid a block of any kind. The kicker failed...!

I had to do the same with some of my relatives for the instant insanity, and threats of violence after the election.
