I vaguely remember something about the Rams offense averaging 30 pts a game for a couple of years there...

As much as we’re pissed, if you had asked any of us fans 5-10 years ago if we’d be happy at 9-7 and potentially making the playoffs, I’d be shocked if anyone would’ve said no.

We do need perspective on these past seasons. We’ve gotten a bit spoiled. Mind you, we’re fans, we criticize and over evaluate, that’s OUR JOB (kidding)!

Regardless, I’m much happier being a Rams fan now than I was in the Linehan and Spags days (to be fair there was no happiness in those days, just endless misery but I digress). And I think McVay will keep us, year in and year out, as competitors. We don’t have the mega-talented team we had that got to the SB. We are in a rebuild right now, so let’s just enjoy the ride. Win or lose, we know this wasn’t necessarily our year. The only thing that sucks is just how good our D is. Damn shame.

Very curious to see what we do in the draft...

You want some perspective? We're STILL living in the good ol' days. Just way too many fans don't realize it.

Oh, I know. It's the frustration talking.

I'm one of the ones (nearly) always trying to calm things down recalling how in the 90's and late '00s we'd have cut off arms and legs to finish 9-7 while chasing down a playoff start.

For me personally, at this point, it is just maddening to watch the offense crumbling while they're wasting a championship season from the defense.

That’s what is so tough about this season. None of us were expecting the defense to be elite, not like this.

We could probably go far if the offense was just mediocre.

If your team gets better and isn't a dumpsterfire, expectations rise. Higher expectations puts us in a different place than five years ago when we couldn't even get 8 wins. Yet even 5 years ago if I was to tell you that the Rams were at 9-4 with the 0-13 Jets at home and two games vs divisiomal opponents which we had previously beaten left on the schedule...If we lost out and went 9-7, it would still have seemed to be a collpase, even then...

Yup. Everyone, including myself, would make fun of a team collapsing like that. Not fun when it's your favorite team.

Look, obviously this is far better than the dark ages. It's never going back. If this is the worst, I'll take it each time.

They're this good now. Imagine how good they'd be without all the QB boo-boos. IDK what will happen next week, or maybe even the week after. I just hope next year Jared gets it together. He's said it himself over and over this year, but man it's time to put up or shut up.

You mean like, the 2000 Rams?
After a 7-1 Start, they stumble thru 5 losses in 7 games (twice to a crappy Carolina team that owned them, sound familiar?)
Have to win the last game of the season, road game at New Orleans, only to face them again round 1
Or the 2004 Rams?
They go thru a 6 loss in 8 game streak and have to win their last 2 games of the year to make playoffs and beat those nasty Seahawks for the 3rd time that year....
Rams have been here before.
Fans didnt turn on them then, we wanted to just get to the dance and see what would happen
That's what I'm feelin now
Lets just get to the damn dance!!

Oh yeah, and F$^ You AZ HAKIM!!!!

Do you remember who had to help the Rams out ?
The 4-11 Bears had to win in Detroit 9-6. I remember watching the Bears kick a 50plus FG to win it and send the Rams to the playoffs. Once again they fell way behind and made a furious comeback only to watch Az muff the punt. No way I ever gave the Bears a chance in hell. Anything can happen this Sunday.

Perspective is great but with the cap crunch next year, it's hard to see this team getting better this off-season. Feels like next year will be a rebuilding year

Dude I was 11 in 2000 lol, didn't know anything that was going on. Same in 2004.

No ones turning on them tho but I've said it before man I don't really care if they win or lose this Sunday or a playoff game, care more about the future.

It's the Superbowl sting, we waited SO long, finally got back there, felt like it was meant to be and then the Pats fucked us again. Just feels like I won't be satisfied until Goff and McVay bring home a Lombardi because I know they have the potential to do so.. it's not gonna be this year though, and I thought we had the D this year to maybe get it but now everything has fallen apart. That's 2020 for ya

Off to the kiddie table for you!

Gawd that was fucking awesome to beat the Seahawks in the playoffs, in their own house, and complete a three-game season sweep over them. Rams really twisted the knife and Seahawks fans have never forgiven us, which fills my heart with joy!

True, considering our cap situation. But the reduction in cap space is going to apply to every team, so I imagine others are going to have cap issues as well.
